Have you ever experience your r9 290 fan limits its fan speed? Mine only run at 1070rpm max. This will cause the core to declock from 947mhz to about 300mhz at94 degree C temp.

I have tried with afterburner... Flash performance bios, switch to uber, enable overdrive... And etc.

This gc of mine seem defected with maximum fan speed at 1070 rpm.

I know the fan can spin up to 2650rpm at max. When booting, I can hear the fan spin at higher rpm but when doing uningine test, or playing game, it's just not responding to the increases of temp.

I don't remember it quite clearly but I remember that the sound card is so close to the GPU and don't think anything thicker than 2 slot cooler can fit.

But I will check it once I get home.

I just asked Techview. RM1369 already. Keep increasing price after GTX970 is found to be a dud.

On what setting? Mantle doesn't boost my fps much but the frame time is better compare to Directx.

on my Crossfire setting, Mantle only increase the Minimum Fps on Dragon Age Inquisition.

Pulled the trigger, Jacob's for next couple of months. 

As expected the cooling performance is not that great but not too shabby either.
70% fan speed from my Vapor-X is louder than the Gaming@100%.

When 960 outperform 780 in 1080p.  They even nerfed their older card for extra sales.

Just pop your 960 back in to play pCars, it's better than 780.

Ready to game tomorrow, Radeons run real good with hairworks off. Only Titan X can run smoothly with all turned on.
