Another drawbacks of freesync, due to narrow VRR window for this particular monitor.

Although AMD claim the default refresh rate for adaptive sync is from 9-240hz, but this not the  case because it goes back to the panel limitation itself.

Although this problem is not AMD freesync specific, it more to the panel itself.

Yeah kinda disappointed, i was expecting 30hz minimum for 34um67/29um67. I guess i'll wait for the technology to mature and get significantly cheaper.

Why is there two accounts selling in lowyat garage sell, but both are the same under idealtech? yongkeen and zhenwei.

Is it safe to buy from them? I want to buy some thermal pastes from them.
*
Both is legit idealtech rep innm, if in doubt, go for zhenwei.

Not coil whine. I had coil whine before but it isn't loud. Now I using better PSU coil whine is very rare.

I have been buying computer products from them pretty exclusively. They both can be trusted.

What TIM you're using right now? I'm not fan of MX4 but this is just me. Anyway, what you got after third try is the best you can get. I don't think you can get more improvement if changing to different TIM. At most only a couple of degrees.

Arctic Silver 5, but many people said it isn't good for GPUs with IHS so I wanted to change to other model. I opened the GPU up to clean the dusts inside.

Holy hell my thermal paste is hard to estimate.
First try :A bit more paste = 83 C and 63% fan speed at stock speeds
Second try: A bit less paste = 88C and 73% dan speed holy hell
Third try: ngam-ngam = now sitting at 77C and 45% fan speed.

The thermal paste stated it have break in period and will have improve afterwards, nice.

But I'm thinking to buy AS MX4 later

for gpu put more tp no harm. importantly cover all the surface. use X method but linus seem to use the pea method on the waterblock gpu (3:47)

Wanted to reply the above post to realize - it's you again!. biggrin.gif Hehe.

Don't be MAD, be AMD!

It works for every processor, FX included.

I used line method, seems to work well now.
Ya I shoud've used X, but now I got good temps so I don't bother opening it again. I'll do X when I get the new paste icon_rolleyes.gif

Reading through the VESA white paper for adaptive sync, it seems that the standard do have that doubling/trippling frames feature if the fps drops below VRR window. But, to implement this, the panel itself need frame buffer. This is the missing piece in Freesync technology. The scaler manufacture mostly will not include frame buffer into their scaler for the cost reason. If they do, the price margin between freesync and g-sync is getting narrow.

The g-sync module as we know, do have frame buffer/memory chips.

best way is to know Stable or not is GAME! no artifact broken pixel or graphic related corruption and hang or auto restart get After burner run monitor temp Vrm1/2 and core play Crisis 3 biggrin.gif / Dragon Age Inquisition or Theif(test Mantle) when u done play all that for 3-6 hour no crash temp dun go over 90c your good u got stable gpu.

add-on:
“Quiet Mode” – Bios position one. Switch is in position closest to where you plug in your displays. This mode is designed to optimally suit a gamer that wants to keep a tight lid on acoustics. If you do not play with headphones, you do not have a high end gaming chassis, or your room’s ambient noise level is extremely low this may be the mode for you.
“Uber Mode” – Bios position two. Switch is in position furthest away to where you plug in your displays

That is only applicable to R9 290X and NOT R9 290. You can read the review here. Like terradrive said the switch merely for either legacy BIOS or UEFI BIOS.

Yup 100% agree. I hate those synthetic load especially furmark. It gives strain to the graphics card, crazy amount of strain that no other games put that much load on it. I can't even run furmark more than a few second it's bizarre that people put an hour load on their card. What are people try to achieve?? doh.gif Just play some games and it'll be sufficient. If there is any issue it should pop up in game.
