- 2gb ddr3 Kingston RAM
- Nvidia GeForce GTS 450
- (Forgot what PSU but shud be around 500W)

I am looking to upgrade the proc and ram, but in order to do that i must upgrade the mobo as well huh? The current setup im running is starting to run very slow, budget less than 1k is possible to get any boost?

Hi TristanX, I'm looking to build a CPU on a similar budget and purpose as well (gaming + multimedia work). My initial budget is RM3K (with monitor), and hoping the build will last for about 3-4 years before I need to change my graphic card to play more graphically advance games without lagging/spiking.

Would you recommend investing the extra RM500 and follow the CPU build as above? Or is there a more affordable build for RM3K with monitor? To be more specific, which part of the computer should I budget on and which part I should invest more (eg: graphic card vs RAM, etc).

I currently playing online mmorpg, suffering very bad fps when raid. Its only 8fps worst time.

1. How do you know if the game uses more CPU or GPU?
2. My plan to upgrade due to budget constraint only got 1.2k first.

Option A,
Upgrade my old 2GB 6950 (Reference card) to 970 or R290x. I gaming with 1080p only. Only play online mmo.

Option B,
Upgrade processor from I5-2400 to I5-4690 + RM300 Mobo.

Which option of upgrade will help to increase FPS for my gaming. Planning to slowly upgrade.
