he dont have any budget.  he just need to know what parts to buy. so the pc is too old and not compatible with any new parts?
*
Yeah,, maybe only can reuse DVD and hard disk.

QUOTE(Hezegroth @ Jan 30 2015, 06:48 AM)
Quick question

Which one is better Intel 4790k embedded graphic or amd 5850

save power if Intel can perform same as 5850

Tight budget for now too many priorities
*
5850 is much more powerful. Nvidia Maxwell will be the one you are looking for if you want power saving GPU.

QUOTE(Kivaa @ Jan 30 2015, 08:53 PM)
Guys need advice
Current Spec :

- Intel Core 2 Quad 8200
- Asus p5q3 mobo
- 2gb ddr3 Kingston RAM
- Nvidia GeForce GTS 450
- (Forgot what PSU but shud be around 500W)

I am looking to upgrade the proc and ram, but in order to do that i must upgrade the mobo as well huh? The current setup im running is starting to run very slow, budget less than 1k is possible to get any boost?
*
Your CPU has very low speed. Only core but without speed. Just switch to these

Core i5-4460 - RM629
Asrock B85M-HDS motherboard - RM239
Kingston 4GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM129

Your Kingston DDR3 also compatible with this motherboard.

QUOTE(haruyap @ Feb 2 2015, 12:25 AM)
Hi TristanX, I'm looking to build a CPU on a similar budget and purpose as well (gaming + multimedia work). My initial budget is RM3K (with monitor), and hoping the build will last for about 3-4 years before I need to change my graphic card to play more graphically advance games without lagging/spiking.

Would you recommend investing the extra RM500 and follow the CPU build as above? Or is there a more affordable build for RM3K with monitor? To be more specific, which part of the computer should I budget on and which part I should invest more (eg: graphic card vs RAM, etc).

Thanks in advance!  notworthy.gif

Xeon is slightly underclocked i7 without built-in GPU. Yes, it is worth it.

QUOTE(playxboxwii @ Feb 2 2015, 01:17 AM)
tq for the suggestion
is there anything i can downgrade a bit
the graphics card seems bit expensive..is it that worth it?
can run ac unity/ps4 graphics game smoothly??

Hi Sifu's,

please rate my rig below.

Core I5 4590 - 669
Gigabyte H97M-D3H - 339
LEADTEK GTX960 - 749
WD Green Desktop 2tb - 275

i plan to reuse my PSU, RAM (mayb get new one), HDD, casing and optical drive

cooler master GX 750w
ASUS DRW-24B1ST ATA Device
WD Caviar green 1 TB X 2
kingston ddr3 pc1333 2gb X 3

or should i get new ram?

Kingston D3 PC1600 4GB X 2 - 270
*
Stop getting WD Green. It is a turtle. Go for Seagate SV35 instead. Nothing much to refine unless you can fork out 500 more for Xeon + GTX970.
QUOTE(mugenz @ Feb 2 2015, 09:58 AM)
hi guys,

I currently playing online mmorpg, suffering very bad fps when raid. Its only 8fps worst time.

1. How do you know if the game uses more CPU or GPU?
2. My plan to upgrade due to budget constraint only got 1.2k first.

Option A,
Upgrade my old 2GB 6950 (Reference card) to 970 or R290x. I gaming with 1080p only. Only play online mmo.

Option B,
Upgrade processor from I5-2400 to I5-4690 + RM300 Mobo.

Which option of upgrade will help to increase FPS for my gaming. Planning to slowly upgrade.
*
What is your full PC spec?

QUOTE(AxeFire @ Feb 2 2015, 10:16 AM)
no cooling? no need i guess since no overclokcing but im lightly worried about
*
Xeon comes with stock cooler. You can add Coolermaster Hyper 212X if you don't mind spending a bit more.

The one being recommended what is the difference from the Haswell  i3 i5 or i7.

It is slightly underclocked i7 without built-in GPU. Better bang for the buck than i5-4690.
