Hi bro, I just got my VS. Does it means that from Jan-2017 - Jan-2018, the annual fee will be automatically waived? I don't have to bother whether or not I swipe within this period, right? Then, from Jan-2018 onward, I have to swipe once for each month to entitle AF waiver coming Jan-2019, right?

So, my next question. Auto debit considered "swipe"????  tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

I think you've got your 'year' mixed up. biggrin.gif

And no, your 2nd year annual fee waiver is depending on your 1st year spending. i.e. 2019 January when annual fee is to be charged, the system will look at how you spent in 2018 to determine if you are eligible for waiver. So start now.

Auto-debit should be considered as a valid transaction.

I applied for a HSBC cc in Oct 2017 and received in Nov 2017. I want to apply for another HSBC cc now, is it true that one cannot apply (will be rejected) for a new cc within the 6 month period counting from oct 2017 onwards?

It means, I can only apply for the new cc from may 2018 onwards.

True?

Never heard of such rules.

unless it is within the context of 'New to Bank' conditions for eligibility to participate in certain sign up campaigns, then only that makes sense.
Cause most if not all banks, require applicant to be non-related to the bank for at least 6 months in order to be consider 'new to bank'.
