Salam 1Malaysia.

Hi guys otai-otai, sifu-sifu. notworthy.gif  im new to M4WD, hopefully dapat belajar, enjoy buat n main dengan korang. 20 years ago i didnt have money to try this. so few weeks before raya, i was involved in teambuilding that use M4WD.  got hook on it maybe because my team won at the end?
So i went online research what model that we used that time. so i bought savanna leo ni online but baru tau kete nih limited atau special, so rasa sayang pulok nak pakai. cinta pertama lah katakan wub.gif .. unless dapat rembat satu lagi boleh kut pasang..
When to South City Plaza, RC Station, so brother Faizal kat situ suggest untuk noob nih baik angkat MS chassis astralster for semi speed dengan sedikit upgrade. barang2 lain tade lagi.. pisau cutter ngan screw driver ade tapi bukan beli tamiya basic tool lah..

Makin baca forum nih dari awal makin pening, jadi rasa nak try buat dulu dengan basic tune up parts, pastu baru lah nak tambah pape lagi and break in motor.

ok tak? sila tunjuk ajar. notworthy.gif

Same la aku pn gn MS and MA.. Ni pandangan aku yang nubis.. 1st skali pilih kategori nak main (speed or semi).. Lepas tu pilih chassis yang sesuai dengan jiwa whether single shaft or double shaft.. Then beli all basic parts needed (engine, frps, rollers and dampers, break depan and belakang kena ada).. Then barang2 untuk maintenance kereta (RC cleaner n seangkatan, zippo, singer, battery holder).. Then bole angkat battery charger (selalu org guna eneloop and energizer) dan battery.. The rajin2 join race or gi kedai2.. Cari brader2 yang tgh main bole tanya pendapat..

Not me. Too pricey.
Better to get the Mk3 JCUP smile.gif

The only thing that interests me in the Merlion kit is the tyre set that it came with. Nice to do ULD . - but then again, I don't play Speed these days
The rim is also very lame, using sticker sheets
Cowl is a recycled Open Top Terra

My conclusion : as a racer, I'd say it is not really worth the RM88

i'm skipping it, because i think it's kinda ugly to my taste

btw it's a good thing that the new HG reinforce plate is normal part instead of limited edition.

Obviously! Haha. That popsicle stick is the basis of any reinforcing plate there is. It's the epitome of HG Carbon

Hey guys, I have a question to ask. It's about the MA Chassis and AR Chassis's rear brake skit.

I know the rear brake skit will help both chassis but the question is, will the large-diameter wheels renders it useless? I asked this because I want this car: Shooting Proud Star

(Yep, it's another Shooting Star, if you have watched or read Dash! Yonkuro anime and manga.)

I want this car so much because of the performance of the MA Chassis and the fact that this car makes its debut in Hiroyuki Takei's Hyper Dash! Yonkuro manga, but I don't know if I should buy it because of its large-diameter wheels.

Er-hem, I mean the stock brake skit that comes with every AR Chassis and MA Chassis car kits, not the grade-up parts one.

The reason I am worries about it is because with the large-diameter wheels the chassis has higher ground clearance than it was with the small-diameter wheels, but the brake skit's ground clearance will raise far away from the ground.

It's not 'render the tyres useless' but rather 'render the brake skit useless'. So any advises?

Err...can you explain it in full english please?

Maybe I should use some spacers from some of the grade-up parts I got instead. sweat.gif Is that enough?

ah ok i get what you mean , yeah adding a spacer can work ,but you have to do it so that it leaves a gap of 1mm or roughly a 5 cent coin from the skid bottom to the ground ..
or you can mount something like the pic below..

Hi,

My MS project won 2 times in a row now smile.gif All were happy watching because it gets to the first to the first position at the last lap (6 lap race).

Now I am building another MS bumperless project (happy with the MS project). Has anyone tried putting Front Under Guard directly to the FRP on a bumperless setup? I am planning to make a speedtech bumperless MS. The reseller is discouraging me to buy HG FRPs so I am planning to buy the #15452#15452 both front and back, screw the front FRP at the bottom of the bumperless, and then screw the under guard to the FRP.

Btw, is J-SPEC tires (tires cut to 3 mm width) not ideal for speedtech? Why?

plenty of japanese racer use that spec for speed tech, i don't see any problem. the final result depends on the overall setup of your car anyway.
it's the thickness that matters. if you're referring to 3mm width but with 35mm overall diameter (also known as ultra-wide diameter tires which often used for high speed races), that is less to be desired because the thicker the tire is, the bouncier it will be.

but as per Japan standard rules, you need to add at least 5mm 'dummy tire surface' to the 3mm tires so that the overall diameter meets the minimum requirement which is 8mm.

Yes, I am referring to the 3mm width. I am just wondering whether to buy same set of tires retaining/not cutting the width (and then trim) or use my current 3mm width tires for speedtech. People here are trimming their tires. I do not have the skill / experience to do that so far.

What about the front underguard under the FRP?

true , but then again it provides braking @ just the right amount , not like the frp or rubber pads type .
