QUOTE(Cim~ @ Feb 5 2015, 02:08 AM)
Yes, I am from Pampanga, Philippines. I used to have a mini 4WD 10 years ago until my bag was snatched along with it. I recently knew that mini 4WD races are active on our area so I somewhat bumped to this site for brainstorming and looking for other setup other than the typical setup that I always see on our local area smile.gif

I am using FUG's with the Super XX since my setup did not require front brakes. Somehow, with my trial tests on MA, it seems to need front brakes.

PS: I was referring to Front Bumper Guard<--- (Please click) for remarks and suggestions smile.gif
*
from my experience with SFM, I use front bumper guard on speed technical layouts ... those layouts with LCs.
SFM has strong front roller angle on the bumper, which is good because it will assist the downforce when going down lane changers.
However, the SFM front bumper is a bit flexible on its own, so the angle might reduce and downforce will be reduced causing the car to fly off easily at LCs.
This is when the front bumper guard plays its role, as to make sure the front roller angle doesn't change.

QUOTE(moron88 @ Feb 8 2015, 03:44 AM)
Guys wanna ask, if i using a bumperless N03. Which part i need to buy to put front rollers and etc etc ?

94696 HG Carbon FRP Front Plate Mini 4WD Tamiya Reinforced Wide N-03 Parts or normal one also can right
*
94696 is extremely hard to obtain because it's a limited edition and long discontinued product, and if you manage to find one, it will be at a premium and overpriced value.

alternatively you can use any rear multi roller setting stay (FRP or HG Carbon, albeit the former is slightly weaker in construction).

most popular choices are:
1. HG Carbon Wide Rear Plate for AR Chassis (black, red, blue, gold)
These come in limited edition and most colors are discontinued except for the recently released gold lame version.

2. The ever popular t2 from Super XX Evo.1 kit
You can find this from the kit itself, or sold by sellers as loose parts. Not available as separate upgrade parts.

3. Rear FRP plate options depending on your creativity
- 15430
- 15243
- 15451

as I see most of the event rules stated that battery voltage minimum 1.45 maxium 1.55, so wanna ask usually what kind of charger u guys use to maintain such specific value? Im looking for a cheap and easily available charger now, no budget for powerex or skyRC =(
*
use battery checker to check the voltage and keep on charging until the battery reaches desired voltage reading

make sure you use motor shaft from the stock motor
because some motor shafts like power dash is slightly (marginally) thicker in diameter so it might give problem with your roller bearings afterward. i still have some rollers stucked with the motor shaft and unable to take em off because too freaking tight. it could ruin the bearing.

lol so i should just buy parts from the evo and use ? biggrin.gif.
*
the parts from MS Evo is not really that special

if you like whole silver chassis, then it's ok. Avante Nero Clear Violet (limited edition, rare) came with silver chassis also, but dark blue clips. the Evo would have all-silver chassis

the front/rear multi roller plates are almost useless because they're short and you'll need to have the side extensions to mount rollers. the last time i remember when the 3mm side extensions came out, they weren't selling like hot cakes, lotsa old leftover stocks around the world.

the wheels are black 5 spokes, and the tires are white arched, which can be easily found

i guess they're just cool for collection

Hey guys, just got another question. Looking to buy Super XX chassis models, I currently have the normal ones available like the knuckle breakers and rising trigger and phantom black. I'm looking at a limited edition called the Cross Tiger VR blue special. Is there any worth of that kit that makes it worth buying? Or is it just with a special blue cover?
*
it is limited edition which has been long discontinued
besides the special blue cover, it has unique blue chassis and blue large diameter wheels with low profile blue letterings which doesn't come with normal kits

that what makes it special rclxms.gif

Ah okay, I thought to, well I think it's too expensive at 70 bucks, guess I'll have to just wait for another of them in the future.
*
very very low probability that they will get re-issued though, probably around 1~2% chance? lol
since they're like low priority models and less popular, unlike those of Thundershot, Avante, those stuffs

No la. My desk is dirty with scribbling of calculations and equations from studying. And since the pack of HG's was nearby, I just picked it up to cover the mess  sweat.gif
MantaRay? Hmmm I do have one. Never given much love/attention to it.
Is Mk3 Azure a bad cowl for jaw?
*
you can cut the small front wings (a.k.a. misai) at the front of the Avante cowl so that it would sit lower. will look cooler that way.

my s2 jaw setup
haven't touched this thing since the last tournament in september. left unattended and unmaintained in my pitbox lol.

edit: I actually used a different tyre/wheelset during the tournament, not the one in this pic.

Honestly speaking, I used the sandpaper rubbing technique to remove the wheel cover. Primitive method. LOL.
Then finish off by trimming the excess on the edges using art knife.

My AR chassis setup for super speed layout. Unpopular choice for many, but it works really well on layouts with many corners and chicane.

p/s: over here in Sarawak we rarely play 'belanja layout' even for speed. LOL.
