Seven p.m. is when things get moving, yes.

Don't get lost, is my main piece of advice.

And bring along an ang pow whose amount is entirely of your own choosing.

You're presumably going to seek advice or assistance from Li Ya Pek.

The ang pow is a simple token of appreciation that will go into the temple's donation box for the premises' upkeep.

It doesn't have to be a massive amount.

Traditionally the sum is commensurate to the seriousness of the problem you are seeking help for.

Bro,

During that time both white and black sifu will be there. Would each of them attend different customers. Or, both of them will be attending to one person.

If both show up, they will divide the devotees between themselves.

Cool. Thanks for sharing. Would be nice if there is English subtitles to describe this event.
Btw' around 9 minutes, what is the deity with green face? The green color similar as Hulk the super hero.
The subsequent ones are datuk Kongs?

Hi bro,

May I know what is the usual purpose of Taoist amulet or talisman that people stick on door/wall on top of door?
Interested in a house but got stick amulet, so a bit worry if it is not for additional protection/luck but to block off dirty and bad stuff sweat.gif notworthy.gif

I'm not a Taoist, so I can't answer your question.

Today marks the date that Guan Yin attained enlightenment.

Here is a picture of Tua Ya Pek paying his respects to her.

Hi Nacht. Nice thread here! I salute your effort to spread the knowledge on Chinese folklore practices.

I got one question. I've seen in temples they worship 太子爷 of different ages on the same altar table, i.e. Age 3 (San Sui), Age 5 (Wu Sui) etc. etc.

Why there are so many different ages? Are they same or different?
