So seems like teeth will shift after braces are taken off no matter what, if dont wear retainer
*
Correct. I've been wearing retainers everyday (from after dinner till the next day, take out during daytime) and already felt a bit of shift. This is one year since removing braces.

My cousin teeth totally crooked again after 3 years but she told me she didn't really wear the retainers properly.

Is it comfortable while wearing a retainer? Planning to correct my teeth but the idea of having to wear retainer daily really dont appeal to me sad.gif

I wear at night, take out in the morning. It's fine. Slight discomfort at first, but then you get used to it.

Price to pay for straight teeth lo.

Guys, how much is it to do metal braces now in JB area? I went for a quotation for metal braces, it cost me around 11-12k by the dentist which i felt is a bit expensive. So i would like to check with those who recently had their braces.

Depends on the braces type and the place. 11-12k is expensive if it’s conventional metal. Ceramic is probably around that range. Not sure about JB prices but I paid RM5k for mine back in 2020 (KL).

Can anyone share about the experience of teeth extraction due to bracer installation? Any side effect or inconvenience in your daily life after that?

Just went for Invisalign assessment and did some x-ray scan, turn out my overbite are quite serious... Doctor suggest to remove 2~4 teeth, or not at all with shorter treatment period but less favorable result. They are working on the detailed treatment plan and show me on the next appointment.

But think of removing 2~4 healthy teeth for good, is quite scary

Anyone has any recent experience on putting braces in Penang island? Like which clinic is recommended, what is the price range for which type of braces, and how long is expected to wear braces (for your case)? smile.gif

I had 3 "good teeth" removed for my braces treatment. 2 at the top, 1 at the bottom. Had a overbite problem as well. No inconvenience to me except aesthetic wise I was quite shy to laugh or smile with the gaps of 3 missing teeth. Then again I was more self conscious of my wonky, overbite teeth also. So it was an OK trade-off. The gaps from the removed teeth quickly closed once my braces were put on.

I'm not sure if you've proceeded with your teeth extraction by now but I highly recommend it if you're still hesitating. Having space for your teeth to be "pulled back" is essential to reduce the overbite.

I took the plan to remove 2 teeth instead, but havent extract yet.
I saw some comment on the internet mentioning they have problem breathing during the sleep because the oral cavity had turn smaller, causing them having trouble resting their tongue. Did u experience this after the treatment is done?

hey guys wanna ask, what are the good alternarives to invisalign? Invisalign is too expensive for me. I have heard about zenyum and clear smile but zenyum seems to be only for cosmetic adjustment.
Some of the clinics i have asked are doing XX smile which i am not sure whether is it same as clearsmile?
Any good recommendations?

Hello,

You can try clearcorrect and clearsmile, should be cheaper alternative. If your problem is serious I would suggest going with Invisalign or braces. Invisalign's algorithm and support is the best in the market hence they charge accordingly. Can DM me if you're looking for Invisalign with discount if you are in klang valley area.
