I did my treatment at Dr How which they change to new establishment (Imperial Dental) finish my treatment as well. I'll strongly advice you not to choose this Clinic, just choose the clinic which mainly do orthodontic.
*
Please do not choose Imperial Dental. Having my nightmare there.

1) First said 1.5 years gao tim. Then 2 years. Now, it is already 2 years and 4 months but looks like still long way to go. Doctor cannot promise how long will it take now.

2) Dr. How will not treat you. He will ask some newbie doc to review your braces. Dr. How will only tell him what to do and go off.

3) My teeth was almost getting there (perfectly aligned) in October. I was expecting to remove it before Christmas. During the last 2 reviews, my teeth alignment got so worse because he asked one trainee doc to handle my review.

4) Dr How is basically very money minded. He give priority to all the foreigners and others who do surgery because the money is more. Although you've made an appointment weeks before, you might still need to wait if he is handling foreigners to do surgery etc.

Today I waited nearly 1.5 hours, which is still a very decent time. I've waited nearly 3 hours previously (and I walked off as I couldn't wait any further). If you don't want to wait, better to have early appointment, about 9am. If your appointment is after 11am, may god bless you.

5) Dr. How still has balls to scold you when he is not in a good mood. And the other doctor who execute the review was telling me that he was not in a good mood and that is why he is like that. What the hell? I pay and I got treated like I am doing it for free?

I was about to scold that fella but who knows, he might take revenge then by plucking out all my teeth.

6) At first said no need to cabut gigi. Then he asked to cabut the top corner tooth (which cost RM250 I think). 2 months later, asked to cabut the bottom one (which he asked for RM450) and I said no way. Then now he still can align my teeth without removing the bottom one. So why ask to remove? DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.

7) Once your payment is all settled, 2 things will happen :

a) he will look for other opportunities to get more money from you. He charge for brackets, inside brackets for the teeth and outside. He charge when your gums are swollen coz the wire was poking (he charge to remove the swollen tissues). Everything is being charged on top of the braces fee which cost me about RM7500 (or was it RM8500?). There was once he put few brackets without asking for my permission and once when I was done, one nurse was following me all the way to the counter. Then I was told that I need to pay RM200 for that. Anyway, that only happened once. Probably he was not in a good mood. Usually he will tell that he is going to do something (and will only tell the fee if you ask him, "how much will that cost?")

b) He will ask all his student / trainee doctors to do their experiments on you. He basically don't care how it goes after he has collected all the payments (well, even before all the payment is collected, he don't care that much).

8) When you are using the sunglass given there, be careful. I went today and the one given to me was just so dirty. I believe the previous person who used it had some eye disease. They didn't clean it and just gave it to me. I asked them to clean it and they just took a normal tissue to wipe it.

9) During my previous review, the How fella was so busy that he didn't even tell the trainee doctor on what to do. This trainee doc then just did the review without any instructions and that was where the major screw up happened. My mid line was terribly misaligned. And there were gaps in between my several teeth.

Overall I have so much to complain about this place. Hopefully I can get my teeth aligned faster and get rid of this place.

Hey man, if you wanna scold your Doctor, just do it. You are paying for your service and treatment and you definitely don't deserve that kind of service. By all means, just f*** him. I assume you are a working adult already, just f*** him. My Doctor once told me that he will make an appointment with me and he'll give me a call. In the end he missed the appointment and I just had to wait 2 months before making a new appointment again. Guess what, I called the Doctor directly and gave him a real f***.

This actually happen to me too. The first few year well, Dr. How did attend to mine treatment personally. After he change to bigger establishment, he then ask those new doctor to review my case and well just come and comment once the treatment ended (with those new doctor my treatment take longer time to de-bond). Like what u mention here, their time management is REALLY BAD. I have once waited for 2 hour just for my turn, because he want to serve a high rank official (if not mistaken ministry of transportation).

For the money part, I'm really angry that they charge me for debonding. Why the hell you charge a patient whom do braces for the debond (once rebond there is no DEBOND?? shocking.gif ) So anyone of you plan to do braces at this clinic, PLEASE do ask for the breakdown of the cost of braces.

THE ONLY THING I WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE THIS CLINIC IS THAT, THEY CAN'T EVEN KEEP A VERY SIMPLE PROMISE. FROM THE MOMENT I STARTED MY TREATMENT HERE, I KEEP INFORMING THAT I WANT TO TAKE BACK MY MOLD & BRACKET. FROM ONE NURSE TO ANOTHER, EVEN THE DOCTOR AS WELL (KEEP REPEATING WHEN EVER I PAY A VISIT THERE). TODAY THEY JUST INFORM ME THAT THEY CAN'T FIND THE MOLD. vmad.gif

ViRaViRa, remember one thing once you debond your braces. Just ask the doctor for permanent retainer, don't go for the normal plastic retainer. It really easy to break, mine is broken within a period of just a month. Going for permanent retainer now, and they will charge that for sure.

By the way, anyone here willing to share how much the permanent retainer cost?? I just want to compare the price which I've paid. Really appreciated if you guy can share the cost for it. notworthy.gif

Great. Thanks a lot for the tips bro. I wouldn't know that if you didn't tell me. By the way, is retainer (the plastic one) is part of the braces cost? or I need to fork up extra money?

Thanks

The one they going to give for the first time is included in the braces cost(but I can't confirm with u->they might say different thing to different patient). But just tell them you opt for permanent one straight, not sure they will ask for extra cost or not.

I've did Damon braces and already removed it. I think I've overbite now. But my doctor says my teeth alignment is perfectly fine. Planning to find another doctor's opinion.

Currently, I'm using clear plastic retainer (wears day and night, sometimes night only), but this retainer quality is very bad although I took good care of it. It cracks / breaks after 1 to 2 months of wearing. Each pair costs me RM400. It's not sustainable for me to make a new pair every month. I don't like Hawley retainer because it is very uncomfortable to wear and my saliva keeps flowing like waterfall.

Any ortho to recommend me? So far my friends recommended:
1) Parkcity Dental @ Desa Parkcity
2) Dr. Wong at SS2, beside Public Bank
3) Esteem Dental

Just to share, on top of conventional/damon braces/invisalign, can consider Six Months Smile. its clear braces with white wire.
It only realign/adjust the front six tooth. The process will take 6 to 8 months. Should be not required tooth extraction. Every month go for adjustment.
It cost ard RM8K exclude xray, mold n retainer.

Here are some link

8k for six months smile... Very expensive right? With 8k you can already pay for normal braces and still have change...

The bracket for Damon braces is small, so it's ok. Hawley retainer, the bottom one is ok, just the top one is uncomfortable.

How often to wear the retainer after 2 years? For 2 years I wore nightly and bring along if going holiday. I have permanent retainer on bottom, top one is Hawley retainer.

Just wondering if I can skip few nights next time I go holiday unsure.gif
