Isn't the total cost fixed? Only reason why we pay at every visit is because of the installment plans we are on... If you finish paying then you don't have to pay more... This it would be in the ortho's best interest to treat you fast so that you will be on your way and he can take in more new patients...

QUOTE(TMF @ Dec 30 2013, 11:57 AM) What is the usual price for braces, but only for my bottom teeth? Don't know for sure but logically it should be??Half-price is it? Because I promised my girlfriend I'd be using them next year. Haih. Where can get the cheapest? I wouldn't exactly go for cheapest though we are talking about teeth here and you only get two sets... Of which all of us I am sure are in out second set... Mnxo: think if you scroll back there are loads of recommendations... All clinics do have some sort of installment scheme |

QUOTE(irisve @ Jan 7 2014, 10:27 PM) for me it costs about rm9,550... But just damon metal braces it's RM7,100, rm80 for extraction of normal teeth and rm700 for wisdom teeth.... 350 for xray and moulding and 700 for retainer if I remember correctly. But you only pay in stages sooooo yeah...I got a question... How do you relieve pain from a TPA (transpalatal arch)??? My tongue is killing me... its being sliced by the TPA and it hurts! Pain from braces I can deal with but the level of discomfort from the TPA and my inability to talk properly is seriously getting to me This post has been edited by nicky87: Mar 8 2014, 04:32 PM |

is it normal that the transpalatal arch continues to dig into my tongue?
Hopefully those with experience using a similar appliance can help enlighten me =/ This post has been edited by nicky87: Mar 8 2014, 08:20 PM |

hmmmmn I made a rather disturbing discovery today... whilst I am rather ok with it but still I am a little bummed by the false advertising...
I think/suspect that whitesmile (now/today I am not sure about previously) doesn't use the damon brand of brackets although the choice is between damon, ceramic, lingual and invisalign... they use a different brand but still of the self ligating type... it's a korean brand manufactured by a company called Hubit. QUOTE(whitesmile_dental @ Mar 8 2014, 08:36 AM) Dear Nicky Thanks for the quick replyThank you for highlighting this issue. We are very sorry about your concerns with regards to false advertising. During the period of 2011- 2012 some patients have had "hubit" brackets fitted. This is because our supplier's factory was destroyed by the Tsunami in Japan (March 11, 2011). We no longer use the original Damon Brackets in our clinic. Our media consultants have advised us to use "Damon" rather than "self-ligating" as a searchable term in our website description. We have tried to avoid confusion by stating the term "Damon Type". We will now rephrase our media to "self ligating similar to Damon". Due to weaker performance of the temporary usage of HUBIT brackets we have replaced them with our standard ceramic self ligating brackets from Japan. This has been done free of charge and we have informed patients as required. We will not allow the poor quality of any bracket to affect treatment quality, which has been the case with DAMON clear - we have also replaced these free of charge. WhiteSmile will always put the patient's interest first above all else, and this excellence is proven by the legacy of our completed cases. We remain the only clinic in Kuala Lumpur providing full treatment options including Lingual (invisible type) braces and invisalign. We can be contacted at 03 2725 0577, during clinic hours, and always at http://www.whitesmile.com.my should you need further assistance. Like I said I am ok with whatever you use, only the usage of the term I think can be misleading and I think people should be aware rather than in the dark hence the previous post Anyways the feedback here about your clinic has always been amazing so This post has been edited by nicky87: Mar 8 2014, 04:45 PM |

QUOTE(brianw87 @ Jun 19 2014, 11:36 PM) does anyone having problem of loose brackets? I just had braces on my bottom jaws two days ago and can already feel two brackets are loose! Feel 2 brackets are loose? You will know when it's loose lo... Cuz you will hear it break off or you will find the bracket freely moving along the wire... In the case of back brackets it will totally come off! QUOTE(eddiez_zz @ Jul 8 2014, 04:38 PM) Yea exactly! Is like a nightmare to me when the food got stuck between the brackets and even worse if is at the deep inside. Currently I am taking mushroom soup with bread for 2 meals and so far is still ok. Have to look for more options before I get bored with mushroom soup.. >< Lol when you start you will go all liquid but after awhile sien edi everything also you will whack... Only one or two days after adjustment you go for softer food XD My front teeth now very sensitive too, feel hurt when accidentally bite on it. Don't worry the sensitivity lasts a couple of weeks max, very soon you will be biting into mcd burgers again QUOTE(kitfoong2752 @ Jul 12 2014, 11:24 PM) yeah! asked a lot of ppl also giving me the same ans, a lil hurt when injection. gaaaarrr...... Unless the clinic you go to has topical numbing gel... Then injection also will not feel any pain at all! I removed two... Very fast and you won't feel it have to extract at least 3 tooth.. |

QUOTE(Paradise92 @ Sep 3 2014, 04:06 PM) Hi all. I have an issue here on braces. Anyone knows which dentist/orthodontist accept patient from other dentist? Which is not so expensive too? I really need to change dentist.. :'( I know whitesmile (berjaya times square) takes people from other dentists but I am not sure about the not paying part... I am quite sure there is some fees involved... Not sure how much only. Give them a call?As I am having a bad experience with my current dentist. My teeth was not slanted before I had braces and during the first year of having braces. Later on, I found my teeth slanted on the top and I've talked to my dentist on this issue, but she seems to refuse to care about my feeling and said it was like this all the time. No matter what I said, she just dont seem to be responsible. My teeth wasn't really that bad before I had braces, only overlap on top and not so straight at the bottom. No extraction needed for my case too. As time passed, the 3rd year, she removed my braces, and I found overbite, on my right teeth up and bottom. My teeth are slanted, not straight at the bottom, both upper and lower going outwards.. So I talked to her about this issue, and at first, she asked me to repay the price.. which I keep nagging and complaint. Then only she asked me to pay a few hundreds to redo (Replacing a new bracket for me).. and after a year its still the same thing.. Nothing much changes. The worst part is, when I visit every month, I dont feel any tighten. No wire change. Sometimes she dont even change my rubber band! Please advise.. :'( |

QUOTE(Paradise92 @ Sep 21 2014, 11:22 PM) Thanks! I've checked around, most of them do not accept continue treatment, but if I wanted to do braces at their place, they will charge the starting price which I have to pay the overall again. While some do accept, but true that is quite expensive that they charge not only per visit for doctor fees, but also the things that they change.. Good to know you found a clinic willing to accept your case Berjaya Time Square area is too far from my place.. But I agreed that we only have one set of teeth.. I found one that accept continue treatment, which cost around RM150-250 per visit. But at the end of the treatment, moulding and retainer need to pay seperately.. Which makes me feels so regret of choosing my current dentist earlier. |

QUOTE(meichan988 @ Nov 30 2014, 09:10 AM) Just to share, on top of conventional/damon braces/invisalign, can consider Six Months Smile. its clear braces with white wire. 8k for six months smile... Very expensive right? With 8k you can already pay for normal braces and still have change...It only realign/adjust the front six tooth. The process will take 6 to 8 months. Should be not required tooth extraction. Every month go for adjustment. It cost ard RM8K exclude xray, mold n retainer. Here are some link http://www.6monthsmiles.com/ http://www.tracykiss.com/product-reviews/sixmonthsmile/ |

QUOTE(soulmate @ Jan 18 2015, 12:54 PM) I usually purchase from Berjaya Times Square but I have also seen it in Publika Caring Pharmacy... not sure about other outlets...QUOTE(shepherddream @ Jan 19 2015, 03:50 PM) Anyone have damon braces and at the same time how many tooth has been extracted? i read from damon website it said no extraction needed. but still in malaysia i heard lot of people need extraction with damon braces Their marketing is just that good... =P If you read foreign forums dedicated to braces... there is a lot more feedback on it and you will find that a lot of Damon's claims on their website is pretty over-hyped... cause at the end of the day damon is a brand of braces like colgate is a brand of toothpaste...This post has been edited by nicky87: Jan 20 2015, 11:44 PM |
