They are using eco tint right? Direct from kilang.

Yes. Under normal sunlight it performs well, but during noon time you may feel the heat. Then again, there's no way a flimsy piece of film can eliminate 100% of the heat, no matter how expensive.

Sorry guys, a bit off topic insurance question regarding my Preve insurance.

When I took my car loan, I paid for the Preve Premium insurance amount for a Preve Exec CVT  brows.gif

Some questions that I want to ask are:

1. What is the current sum insured for Preve Exec CVT?
2. When is the 25% NCD discount will kick in? I paid my 1st year insurance with 0% NCD amount, if no insurance claim for the whole year, 2nd year insurance should get the 25% discount right?
3. Any special insurance we need to have for Preve like windshield etc2?
*
1. http://www.autoclaims.com.my/agv1/home.php
2. Within one month before your insurance expires, yes on 25% discount if no claim was made.
3. Advisable to buy windshield coverage. RM 1,000 coverage is only RM 150 premium.

Actually the promotion is to clear 2014 manufacture car.. if im not mistaken, come 2015, if still got 2014 car unsold, the SA will still give the rm8k rebate as long as u book in december during promo time. But if there is no more 2014 car, so no more rm8k rebate.. in my case, i go to plan D, ask my brother (actually a perodua SA) to be my SA, and he confirm with insider, only left soft lilac and brown left in stock mostly throughout malaysia. So, i maybe take brown colour, and cancel my order with current SA.
*
Brown is good, I kinda having some sort of regret after receiving my silver. Doesn't matter, I plan to paint the car dark gray in one or two years biggrin.gif

Err so far so good. A few of my friends who bought in 2012 also haven't faced radiator leakage yet.

For my 2013 Preve, it has very few issues. Not sure why the 2014 batches received so many complaints hmm.gif

It's a combination of both, and more factors.

When I applied for my car, within one week three banks called me to tell my load was approved (ultimately went for Public Bank as their interest was the lowest).

Similarly, when purchasing my City, two was approved and one application took longer time (more than a week) for them to call and tell the loan had been approved.

I believe your repayment capability is one of the most important factors.

can i go and claim before 1k service?
*
No problem, if you like to visit SC so much biggrin.gif Getting the car to 1k doesn't take that long so why not just go once?

QUOTE(akubaem @ Dec 30 2014, 03:46 PM)
This one I agree.. Banks do put lower rate for foreign car.. but i believe not to the level of approval one's loan application. Unless the different of monthly repayment exceed the calculated commitment allowed.
*
Although lower rate of interest, the amount of loan is still higher (especially those 0% DP but 9 years period doh.gif). End up you are significantly owing and paying more.

Anyway there is no single definitive variable that banks use when reviewing loan application. Just like insurance, they will look at age, health, occupation, family and more. Foreign cars? Yes. Repayment capability? Yes. Employment status? Yes. Certain banks do offer low interest rate from time to time.

Got my car this afternoon. Gonna name it black panther haha. Anyways was quite fast from loan application  to delivery. Started the process last monday. Minus  weekends and public  holiday it took 5 days from start to finish. Got 2.86% 7 years loan from Affin bank. I think  thats  the lowest interest considering I'm  fresh graduate.  (They was offering 2.8 for full loan  9 years).

So far a few minor problems. Front bumper  got one small white line. Rear seat not locking on one side. And the seat belt buckles for rear seat is not visible. Fit and finish.... typical proton  standard  but not complaining too much. Hope no major suprises after this.
*
That's considered already cheap considering the market now. I got 2.7X something in Q3 2013.

As you said yourself, those are common issues with Proton. For major concerns, so far so good, no critical issues that endanger the car safety.

Waze is good for showing traffic. But the navigation prompts, ease of use and clarity is inferior to Garmin's. If you travel to places where there's no broadband coverage often, offline gps also makes sense. I'm more inclined to use Garmin routing & guidance, with Waze running in the background prompting for police, accidents etc.

BTW, I am a Royalty Wazer.

Go HERE brows.gif Absolutely the best offline navigational program, unless you are using iPhone.

Have always been wondering what GPS version you guys (thouse who purchased CFE in late 2014) have. If you guys don't mind, maybe can take out the SD card and share the update here? hmm.gif

If I were to change the rim to 17, what tyre profile is good? 215/45?

wanna look nice go 45 smile.gif
if wanna look after rims takut bengkok masuk lubang then go for 50

i'm using 50 no choice because i need every mm available to go uphill into car porch
*
I think so too. So I assume 55 is out of the question if I want to use 17" rim? Is 215/50/17 a good replacement for the stock profile?

215/45/17 is the stock LE size.

Can fit 205/50/17, which I wish to get next round for comfort and reduced FC reasons.

Can also fit 225/45/17 without issues but at the expense of fuel consumption.

May or may not fit 215/50/17, will hit fender if car is heavily loaded or going through turbulent roads with weak absorbers.

Do not fit any other thicker or wider 17" tyres i.e. don't ever think of 55 profile.
*
I think I'll go for 205/50/17 too, looks like a sweet spot between 215/45/17 and 205/55/16.

Most practical but,
1. 215/45/17 is most common and cheapest
2. 205 width less gaya
*
I just think that 45 is too risky to hit potholes, even a shallow one sad.gif
