Just splash out and bought 30ft audioquest x-2 cables from Harvey Norman... SQ wise I 'think' got some improvement (smoother).

Is PM6005 good enough to drive Q300? Anyone using this combo can share their experience? Thanks!

local distributor quote me marantz PM7005 for RM 5800

and today i was in Siam Paragon, and saw the exact same model Marants PM7005 black and seller quoted me 35000BHT

almost identical to retail price in US. I think OUR LOCAL dealer is selling way too expensive.

I am getting mine in bangkok in no time!

I noticed our sony, samsung etc (TV, blu ray player) are way cheaper than UK or US, But all hifi branded stuff is always more expensive.

I was trying out standard 2RCA interconnect comparing with The Chord Company Crimson Vee3 purchased together with my component system (PM/CD6005). To my surprise the standard 2RCA gives me familiar sound (like my headphone) but the expensive Crimson gives me an 'altered' sound, like the sound has been enhanced.

They say good interconnects do not altered sound, so the standard interconnects (free with system) is better than the pricier interconnects? Kind of confuse.

Yes... They did that long time ago. Last time PM8005 local was over RM6k, but SG only selling RM3.2k.

I believe PM7005 and PM8005 sells are still good, but just buying from Thailand or SG. And I had no idea on what the local distributors are thinking... At this crazy price, who will buy? I guess Malaysia Boleh again shakehead.gif

Singapore's Marantz prices are know as among the cheapest.
Cheaper than HK and US prices.
If you guys are willing to forego local warranty and can bring-in without worrying kenna stop by our Kastam, worth the effort actually.

If I'm in the market for a Marantz amplifier, I'll take the risk as I go into SG almost every month and all my headfi stuff were purchased in SG. tongue.gif

Headfi is pretty simple as most of item is small. Hifi is all about big size. Is not easy to pass through. Then again how many people in Malaysia is going to SG monthly except for those working in SG.

Last time my hifi dealer in SG (Bladelius and Marten Designs) provided delivery services to their Malaysian customers.

With the coming implementation of GST, will the 15% luxury tax on hifi products be waived? tongue.gif
