QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Mar 13 2015, 07:29 PM) Btw guys, any idea where can i try out some custom switches? such as vintage black or ergo clear. I don't know if you can get it locally. I mean from shops that is. Usually for vintage blacks, people source them from old boards. For Ergo clears, it's just a clear stem + a lighter spring. I personally used 62g for my build. Unless people here has spares, or like a switch tester you can try, I don't think you'll be able to get them in small amount (1 or 2).

Normally those for POS keyboard. It's very fast to enter those numerical like in our normal keyboard numpad, but for alphabetical is harder and doesn't make sense. Really depends on preference.

Tried out some mkb at sricomp & viewnet. steelseries mkb, black switch-quite ok but after awhile start to get tired especially at the small pinky finger. razer mkb blue switch-felt ok, clicky. logitech g710 brown switch- I like it. Surely fits its description as something between red and blue and I like the slight tactile feeling of it. asus strix mkb possible red switch since it felt linear-felt ok but somehow might be too light.
one thing for sure. Due to my typing style of always bottoming out, all mkb turns out to be just as noisy. Thus mkb with brown switch will be on top of my list because red are too light, black a bit too heavy and blue are too noisy, might not suitable for typing at the middle of midnight.

Brown Switch + O-Ring Sound Dampers(makes you won't hit bottom)... Combination of these = very silent. But, the O-Ring Sound Dampers will somehow affect the typing feel slightly due to it doesn't allow you to bottom-out each press.

Actually I went to sricomp just to test which switch fits me the best so I tried whatever display mkb available. As for that logitech g710 no I wont be buying that because it look too flashy to me. I'm going to buy a ducky zero instead. I'm surprised that all mkb that I tried becomes noisy when bottom out lol so I decided to get the one brown over blue because will be more noisier when I'm typing with blue than brown and the brown still have that tactile feel. I would try those o rings but only when the wife starts complaining lol

Guys, anyone interested in getting gateron switches from the group buy from geekhack?? I will probably be buying ,but before I buy, would like to ask if anyone else are interested in getting them, the switches are cheap, but the problem is the shipping fee which cost about 10usd. While the switches cost only 16 USD for 100switch. Let me know by today before 5pm if you want to chip in and buy together.
