QUOTE(HenDa @ May 30 2015, 07:07 PM) it is bullshit, by law you can't, and they just charge you extra money for nth, your license in Malaysia will be in record but blacklisted either way, do not go for it... Go outside of JB, like go KL and say you want the license extract for driving overseas that kind of thing. They will (unless you face problem) give you the extract without blacklist so you can concurrently hold both MY and SG licenses. Of course you don't actually have to since SG license by law can be used in Malaysia.

QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Jun 2 2015, 10:58 AM) So can I say that it does not necessary to have my Malaysia license to be voided at all if I got my license in Singapore? Cause it just make no sense on why Malaysia has to remove the driving license if we have the Singapore license. No. By law you not allowed to have two licenses. Forgot which act liao says that JPJ only allows you one of either Malaysia or Singapore licenses (but not both concurrently) - that's why if you take the extract in JB, they will assume you need it to apply Singapore license and therefore cancel your Malaysia one.

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Jun 7 2015, 12:11 AM) Nothing wrong with living under means. 1st step towards a bungalow Consciously choosing to live under means is different story. Like you, you can sort of afford Cayenne but instead decide to just drive X5, and can sort of stay sentosa cove but instead decide to be more comfortable and buy CBD condo. But if you married and come to SG to work and got no choice but to rent room ... might as well go back KL, easier to compete there and get decent salary to have your own place, cars, etc what.

QUOTE(13etrayer @ Jun 11 2015, 11:30 AM) then i contacted one of it which i found out she is an agent actually. do i still need to pay agent fee in this way? If it is the landlord agent then no need If it is the landlord agent's friend/partner/kolik then she will try to position herself like she is 'your' agent (so you need to pay). Best is just say you don't want to pay agent fee then see what she say lor.

QUOTE(13etrayer @ Jun 11 2015, 02:55 PM) i hope it is true that she is landlord agent n no agent fee. It could be useful to have your agent for your first rental, even if you have to pay (maybe more important for whole unit than room). Cos then the agent will help you do the LOI, supervise the handover process, make sure the contract is OK, etc. Then after you know what to do, subsequent rental all can DIY liao. Anyway as always, our resident REN AlaskanBunny is always available to help.

QUOTE(mobileoop @ Jun 17 2015, 10:46 PM) Travelling by Bus can take up to 3-4 hours to reach Jurong East from Bukit Indah. The traffic jam always have domino effect. eg: A stupid lorry that blocked the road and caused a slight traffic delay for 20 minutes at 6 am will cause a massive jam later at 9-10 am. I have experienced that a few times.
I calculated and I personally spent about 6-8 hours daily just on travel alone. I am able to save quite a bit of money but I realised that it is not good for long term I have decided to move to SG. xtylish pls take note. Anyway mobileoop, can always PM our resident REN AlaskanBunny for help finding room, HDB, etc. Service guarantee good one

QUOTE(megadisc @ Jun 18 2015, 11:48 PM) booking a room a bukit batok but owner asking for 1 month deposit to ward off other offers lioa ... can i go ahead ? Issue a Letter of Intent to the landlord together with a cheque for 1st month rental. Paying by cheque gives a banking trail of your landlord having received money from you, and the LOI protects you somewhat such that if the tenancy falls through you have b&w that the landlord needs to return you the cheque. For any further hints than that, PM our REN AlaskanBunny.

Landlady sure day day give raw oysters and boil bull's whip soup for you. I believe that is probably why jitshiong had such special service from his landlady. QUOTE(the99percent1 @ Jun 20 2015, 09:40 PM) no such deal la.. unless you work in finance, appropriate wage adjustment would be 60% of ringgit. ie, if you made rm10k, equivalent would be $6k Sing. That is to maintain your current spending/income power. Why should there be any wage adjustment in the first place, regardless of whether it is appropriate or inappropriate? If I work a rm10k job in Malaysia, and come over to Singapore to take on an sgd10k job, why should I settle for sgd6k just because it is an "appropriate wage adjustment?" If you're good enough to do an sgd10k job then you should get paid sgd10k. On the other hand if your rm10k job only makes you good enough for an sgd6k job in Singapore, then you should only get paid sgd6k.

QUOTE(danieltan @ Jun 20 2015, 02:15 PM) Anyone know if let say once I get spass or epass and I married. Do have such rules or regulation which spouse cannot work in Singapore too. QUOTE(KilJim @ Jun 20 2015, 10:00 PM) What kind of rule can that be...just cause you're a E pass holder your spouse is not allowed to get an E pass of her own and work? Your spouse can come and work if she gets a S/E pass just like everyone else I think he is asking, can his spouse work (without any pass) based only on his EP. http://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/letter-of-consentNowadays spouse of EP holder can apply for letter of consent, which allows them to legally work in Singapore too.
