also remember to chk whether your IC is still active before you reload it, i'm not sure whether IC can becomes dormant, maybe you can ask CS when you're there

tng with mykad = hybrid card, tng uses contactless (fyi, the antenna is sandwiched inside the card), normal mykad is contact-based card. both method, shares the same chip/storage.

normal generic tng/contactless card = there is a chip, but sandwiched inside the card with the antenna.

u need a chip (mini processor) and storage to store the applet for each function. e.g mykad has its own applet, tng has its separate applet.

contact or contactless, both will need power up the chip first.

tng works by using the antenna to generate electricity to the chip. this is what u called electromagnetic induction.

this is why you need to 'touch' the card on the reader, because reader generates radio signal, tng antenna generates electricity to the chip.

I can see the touch n go website mentioned those outlets like tesco do not accept touch n go for payment temporary in last few months as below.

Reloaded RM200 at Jaya Grocer, Verve Mont Kiara. Used my Mastercard wave (on their CIMB terminal) and no signature required. Very fast and easy.

Is CIMB terminals only the terminal that can accept Mastercard Contactless Cards? Correct me if I am wrong, but Maybank terminals can accept only Visa Paywave Cards.
