is free as under waranty. I left the car there at 8 am and SC call me around 2pm+ (this is including the other fixes)

the symptom have been describe on the last page. not the engine the movement of the car at slow speed.
*
just to confirm.. because of the gearbox mounting, your car also had the "krukk krukk krukk" sound during low speeds?

yup, that is the 2 things that you felt due to the problem. After driving longer hours coming back from office, the pull back feeling still there, not as bad, but the sound not longer there.

Hi today i got the best fc figure since 1 year ago owning it. 600km with 90% highway using primax 95.
Question, is it really the best exora can do?
Sad

Decent fuel efficiency has never been the Exora CFE's strong suit smile.gif

of late I notice many in the forum have engine mounting replaced, upon complain regardg steering, vibration , gbox noise . i suspect the engine mounting has design or manufacture issue and SC are replacing them . I got mine replaced because of gearbox humming noise, it did solve the problem. A colleague also have his replaced even when he made no complaints.
*
This is new...

So if I go to my nearest SC and complain about the vibration, noises, and gearbox humming sound, they will change the engine mounting?

Hello all,

Joining you guys soon (this is soooo exciting). Getting the premium version.

A couple of questions, not sure if anyone asked before as I couldn't find anything via search. Just wanted to listen to your opinions (no right or wrong answer).

1. Do you guys tint the car beside the original colour tint that came along with the car? If yes, how much is it and any recommendations? (Like how I got recommended to get the Exora from Vincent Lim)

2. Do you put a layer of spray / dunno what is it called on the Exora? Something like to protect the paint and might need to go back and touch up. My question is - is it worth the investment? Will my Exora still be shiny after 7 years? Or would it be more sensible to respray the car after 7 years?

3. How is the DVD player on the Exora? Do you change it to an aftermarket one?
*
Regarding the tint, the original tint that comes with the EB Premium is good enough for me. If I remember correctly, the tint is by EcoTint, which is supposedly a pretty decent brand.

I'm no tint expert, but it feels the same as the V-Kool tint on my dad's car so no problems for me:)

So that's the problem eh. I never can put a finger on it, but there's something definitely weird with the vibrations and various noises around the dashboard and steering. I thought it's normal being the usual "eh kereta proton pakai kejap je dh bunyik sana sini" so I didn't say anything. Will tell them next time I come for service to test my luck. Hopefully it's something fixable like replacing the engine mounting.

Sorry, think you need you have your explanation again, for us to help.

For the gear box mounting, that actually dont cause the vibration to the cabin, the cause is that when you slowly accelerate and let go the accelerator, the car do actually pull back / jerk and also a "keak" sound.
*
Currently, my EB has 2 problems.

The first problem is what you have described. Accelerate and letting go of accelerator = car will jerk a little bit. Plus there is a whining sound at low speeds (especially during slow moving crawls / jams)

Second problem is the glovebox and cabin got quite abit of vibration noise during acceleration. This I previously did not think it was a problem since I thought "Proton cars typically after awhile got funky noises here and there" laugh.gif

For the first one sure is the gearbox mounting issue.

For the 2nd one, dont know what causing it, possible do with that. If the car under warranty then just let SC know and let then fix it.
*
I see... Will bring it up during my next service. Thanks smile.gif

I heard someone mentioning earlier that my second problem could be caused by engine mounting or something... hmmm

wonder anyone encounter, while pressing brek where gear on P position, there is some kind of sound and can feel vibration touching on the gear stick. Wonder its normal as never feel it before...
*
Something to do with the gearshift lock mechanism. You are not allowed to change gears from P unless the brake pedal is pressed. The sound when you press the brake pedal is the gearshift "unlocking" smile.gif

I do understood about the mechanism but its just doesn't feel normal.... as after almost a year owning the bold, just felt that recently!

Myvi has the same thing too, and I have a friend who only realised it after 3 years of owning the vehicle. Pretty normal i guess smile.gif

Yeah, I've heard of that but I don't use the ISOFIX in the Teana also. I just make sure the child seat is properly secured at four sides to the seat belt, and it's already very tight, which means the same applies in the Exora too! thumbup.gif

I believe you'll be pretty satisfied with the EB. My unit has currently around 23k km on the odo, so far the EB has been flawlessly reliable and nice to drive. Comfortable, powerful, huge cabin space and the best air cond ever tongue.gif

Though i have to point out that there are still some typical proton characteristics in the EB. Such as the occasional rattle sounds here and there, plus the CVT gearbox whining noise and jerkiness at crawl speeds. Nothing major or dealbreaking, just some small things that proton should improve on and i think you should be aware of.

Overall its still a great car, especially when considering the money. When the turbo kicks in, I'm sure you'll agree smile.gif

Hi all EB owner,

Anyone here own year 2014/ 2015 EB model?
Mind to share how long you've own, total mileage, F.C. and problem encounter?

Thanks.
*
Mileage so far in almost 2 years around 25k km. FC history can be seen on my fuelly page, check my siggy smile.gif

Bear in mind I have a relatively heavy foot when driving the EB. The turbo kick is just addictive laugh.gif Although this doesn't change the fact that the EB is super fuel hungry.

Problems encountered? So far so good. Everything is alright.
Some minor odd rattle sounds occasionally (especially during cold weather) in the rear passenger door panel.. Nothing serious but just a little annoying sometimes..
Then there's the engine over crank issue I've been facing. Doesn't seem to affect everyone, but from what I've seen, it seems to affect most Proton cars that could be using the same starter (Saga, Preve).

Overall nothing out of the ordinary. Just some normal Proton niggles here and there smile.gif

if you are still on stock gtradial tyre then most probably yes. the tyre is good when new, but degraded badly over time. the rubber hardens pretty badly, and causing uneven wear. then the sound will be quite enbearable ...
*
This is true. My stock tyres are about 2 years old now, and the tyre wear is pretty uneven. The cabin noise is significantly higher compared to when the tyres were new rclxub.gif

If I remember correctly, the last time I saw the 7 years warranty thing was only for a short period of time during their merdeka promotion.. Not sure though.

Hi all...kindly advise

1) is it normal to smell like rubber burn when the turbo kicks in....around 3-4rpm.....mileage is 1400km...

2) windshield crack due to stone on highway...can I claim warranty?

Thx
*
The burning smell is very normal when the car is still fresh. Even sometimes when you floor the car alot and the turbo gets super hot, you'll get the burning smell. Nothing to worry about wink.gif

Windshield crack is to be claimed under insurance. If I'm not mistaken, warranty does not cover such things smile.gif
