I did personally asked the foreman at Penang main SC at Jln Makloom while he claimed that its designed such way whereas there freeplay room for the steering instead of totally still (can't move)  unsure.gif
*
The freeplay is fine, but the important thing is the steering rack must return to neutral position.

The bushing is supposed to allow freeplay, and act as shock absorber. Imagine the road respond directly feedback to steering wheel, and if strong enough, could cause you to lose grip of steering wheel. Under normal usage, it is good for driving comfort.

For more explanation, google for 'competition steering rack mount', and read up a bit more.

If your steering has bias, have a look at front tire wear. Make sure tire rotation at every 10k km or less.

QUOTE(wai1460 @ Jan 7 2015, 09:27 AM)
Anyone facing squeak noise on the steering wheel during turning left/right?
Its just happen to me recently.

And the brake squeaking noise when pressing brake keep repeating after send to SC for cleaning up dirts.
*
I have both that problems. Brake pedal squeak fixed after SC lubed it.
Now, maybe bcoz of rainy day, brake pads start to squeal when cold.

I think most likely this one is one way valve problem..damn.  Rough screeching sound during start after the engine is already off after some times.

I thought i lucky enough can escape this issue
*
The OWV problem sounds like 'krrr-rrr-rrr' after the car is started.
Is this how yours is like?

ABS Sensor replacement? what's the symptom? is it because after hit big hole will sound like..."GRRrrrr" at the co-pilot area?
*
No need hit pothole. Just normal braking but car doesn't slow down, and get the "GRRrrrr" sound, and you can feel it at the brake pedal. ABS override the braking, and cause it not to slow down.

arza04Yeah, that's the OWV noise. Send for warranty.
ir5The "Grrr" sound, comes from the ABS pump. I believe it is located on the left side of the engine bay, which is why it sounds like coming from passenger side. When send to check, ask them to inspect all the ABS sensors.

how long u have to wait since you've ordered till it get replaced bro?
I'm still waiting and waiting and waiting mode! sad.gif

Think about 2~3 weeks? I think after Paultan announce the thing, immediately they run out of stock.

SleeplessEyesl3iTiMy mixed driving can easily get below 10L/100km. Once stuck in jam, can go up to 12~13.
You need to activate the turbo to get good FC. Trying to stay under 2k RPM will only run the engine at low compression ratio, which means poor efficiency, and a lot of clutch slip.

Read this article: Energy Efficient Driving
I think 'Pulse and Glide' works on EB. That's how I manage below 10.

Hi, Exora CPS reporting in. Currently at 77,000+. Bought in 2011.

1: I want to know what's the problem when all 4 brakes makes screeching sound?

2: Whenever I drive past speedbumps / tiny bumps / tiny potholes, front side makes "knock-knock" sounds...
*
I have similar problems like yours.
1 - brake dust, worsen during rainy days where brake disc rusts. My trick is to splash the discs with water before drive off. You'll see lots of fine dust floating off with the water.

2 - Can't figure out where the noise come from yet. Turn off engine, shake the whole car cannot detect the noise, only when driving. rclxub.gif

YouDontKnowMyNameI think I figured out the 'tak tak tak' sound during low speed. It's from the front bonnet. I used 3M D-strips to weather seal my engine compartment, and now I don't hear it anymore. It's been 2 days, and I'll report back after observing longer.

bro alexei,
care to share some pics which affected area? i also sometime got similar sound at pilot area (right side)
*
Use the D-strip pictured to the left, and seal up inside top and bottom of engine bay.
It will cause the bonnet harder to close, but protects the engine bay from the elements.

It was COD, but expensive that time. Now LYN got seller, good price.
I'm using the small D, which need two strips. Perhaps if use the big D, one strip on top bonnet enough liao.
Agak 2~3 meter, RM6/meter... cheap DIY.

I was looking at the sticker on the driver side fuse compartment, there is a secondary box that says 'rear light'. Anyone knows where that fuse is actually located?

Still using the ori tires; gt champiro cause EB just for the weekend since 2012! Last week, rotate the position of the tires thou the 'bunga' still look OK. After 29k km. Now the sound like the 'boat penambang'! Any suggestion about so call good and quality tires .. n 'murah' also?
*
How was the rotation done? Swap front to rear only, or crossed?
If your tires are now making noise, I suspect it was crossed.

Update on EPDM rubber seal for engine boot: May cause higher FC. Need improvement on sealing in front of air intake duct to allow cold air intake.

Update on Torque Pro app: Noticed increased fuel consumption based on calculated "fuel flow rate" during in-gear downhill. What happens when releasing pedal while in D, initially DFCO kicks in to save fuel. Then, the CVT clutch engaging together with ignition timing is retarded, bringing the RPM up to as high as 3k RPM. Followed by increase of fuel flow.

2uk3yIt's the other way, with the EPDM seal, I believe the intake port is suffocated by having to draw air from engine room.

Anyone did CVT oil change before? Do you feel any difference? Or, should we consider other alternatives?

I'm looking at the stock CVT fluid (ExxonMobil EZL799) and noticed the 40C viscosity is 2x higher than other competitors (Motul, Amsoil, Nissan etc.). A bit worrisome...

cheeho04My EPDM sample pack has arrived.
This weekend hopefully can see which type of strips fit most if not all the gaps for Exora Bold.
