Hi, all sifu, my exora (2015) occasionnaly need to crank more than 2 times to start. I saw in previous thread, some said it is normal, some said it is battery. I send my car to SC and after scan, the battery is normal and still ok. May I know what is the problem?

May I know what is the problem? new engine oil does that to my Exora during cold start, but after a while it will be back to normalwhat happen is like this, turn on key, then crank.... it will not start even if start, sometimes it will die cycle the key again, it will start up like normal one of the suspect is the VVT actuator, what I notice sometimes when I open the boot, and turn the key to 'on' after a few seconds, the VVT intake side will have a 'klak' actuation sound |

But I changed at SC. Shouldn't it be good and suitable for Exora?for me, it happens quite often after an oil change, so I'm guessing because thinner oil causing the oil pressure not build up fast enough during cold start, the stock oil is 10W-30 to 15W-40... now I just use 5W-40 |

Question, can I use 0w20 on 1.6 Iriz? QUOTE(alexei @ Dec 1 2023, 01:17 PM) ok, welcome to the club thanks. Many advise to change the oil at 5k, even though it is said for 10k. The car a bit not smooth at lower speed, and I have been told that the gear oil is dirty before 60k, so I change out around 55k. There was a time that the car lost power during heavy rain (i think I passed through a water puddle), I have to restart the car after that and all is good except a bit jerking. But SC just do some reset on the computer and so far all is good. Is there any method to stop it from happening?suggest change oil 5k instead of 10k, that's all, the rest follow schedule, don't put engine oil additives |

Clutch adaptation is another issue, or pattern, with this carAfter CVT oil change, it will need a few, when cold, when hot, and then occasionally, during hard driving, the CVT durian logo will show up on the dash. It will on for half a minute, disappear for a few minutes, turn on again, and keep cycling... When that happens, do another round of adaptation... happened to me 2 times, both also after CVT oil change... another CVT durian happens when driving the car off during cold, the CVT stuck at low gear, meaning the RPM will climb up but the car moves slow don't panic, this one just off engine, restart, do adaptation, should settle most of the time when stop at traffic light, I will do adaptation minus the reverse gear one However, if after adaptation, the gear shift still jerking, or when you tekan brake masuk D, the car still vibrating, or when you masuk reverse, the engine lost power and died... could be engine mounting issue Exora engine mounting, now the Proton give one is "TRIM" brand, chop on the mounting itself. This one last me the longest, so far no vibrate. |
