Hi, all sifu, my exora (2015) occasionnaly need to crank more than 2 times to start. I saw in previous thread, some said it is normal, some said it is battery. I send my car to SC and after scan, the battery is normal and still ok. May I know what is the problem?
See comment for the parts to change, shopee got sell
new engine oil does that to my Exora during cold start, but after a while it will be back to normal what happen is like this, turn on key, then crank.... it will not start even if start, sometimes it will die
cycle the key again, it will start up like normal
one of the suspect is the VVT actuator, what I notice sometimes when I open the boot, and turn the key to 'on' after a few seconds, the VVT intake side will have a 'klak' actuation sound
got one time I realise there was a 'klak' sound after I put the key on standby, like 'nnngggg' then 'klak'. When I crank it, I failed to start. Normally it should end after 'nnnggg'.
yeah, I heard something similar, IINM it's near the intake manifold, so need to buka the hood to listen
for me, it happens quite often after an oil change, so I'm guessing because thinner oil causing the oil pressure not build up fast enough during cold start, the stock oil is 10W-30 to 15W-40... now I just use 5W-40
Come to think about it. indeed it happened after oil change. But I changed at SC. Shouldn't it be good and suitable for Exora?
ok, welcome to the club suggest change oil 5k instead of 10k, that's all, the rest follow schedule, don't put engine oil additives
thanks. Many advise to change the oil at 5k, even though it is said for 10k. The car a bit not smooth at lower speed, and I have been told that the gear oil is dirty before 60k, so I change out around 55k. There was a time that the car lost power during heavy rain (i think I passed through a water puddle), I have to restart the car after that and all is good except a bit jerking. But SC just do some reset on the computer and so far all is good. Is there any method to stop it from happening?
