Thousands of EBs on the road, but only a handful with problems.

My EB 2 years old still running perfectly thus far  nod.gif

Just said this 2 days ago, and today the ABS light decided to light up on me doh.gif

Restarting the engine made the light go away though doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

hahhah bro zaidi is correct..that what happened to me...
managed to visit SC yesterday and they said my left ABS sensor is capult...need to change new one..waiting for stock and need to prepare RM 200  cry.gif

Just dropped by the sc to get my ABS light issue solved. They diagnosed the problem to a faulty ABS sensor at the front passenger side. Luckily they happened to have one unit of the sensor in stock and replaced it on the spot under warranty. Problem solved smile.gif

Darn it !
So far , my ride OK , but suddenly read in this thread regarding ABS light , didnt think much about it
Till yesterday when noticed ....ABS light came ON !! Off engine and start again , then the light went Off . Happened again today
My ride is 21months old now , forgot to check the ODO
wondering if still cover d under warranty
*
Same case as me laugh.gif Read the thread about ABS light and didn't think about it. Then few days later ABS light decided to appear tongue.gif

Just send it to SC to diagnose. If your car still under warranty, it'll be replaced for free.

If they have stock on hand, it'll just be a quick process to swap the faulty one out smile.gif

My bridgestone ecopia ep200 tyres aren't the quietest, but it's already a huge difference in tyre noise compared to the stock GTRadials wink.gif

One guy found EP200 causing ESP to engage on his Preve more often than previously.
I usually drive the EB as cautiously as I can and I don't have much experience with tyre characteristics, so I'm definitely not in the position to comment on that smile.gif

Comfort and tyre noise however, can easily be told so I'll just stick to sharing what I know laugh.gif

His findings shouldn't be too surprising though, since the BS Ecopia tyres are supposed to be eco tyres with comparatively lower rolling resistance smile.gif

It recalibrates the CVT, so it doesn't cause engine stall when switching between R and D.
I see. Does it really work? If so, it could be worth adding it to the FAQ on page 1

Hi guys.
I'm planning to buy exora bold premium. Based on my survey so far, there are only 2015 stocks with discounts ranging from RM3k-4k. 2016 stocks can only get after CNY with new (higher) price.
Do you think it's worth it to get the 2015 stocks now, or wait for 2016 stock?

Thanks for your opinion.
P/s: Not so urgent buy. Can wait a few more months if need be.
*
I'd say wait for after CNY for the 2016 units. Perhaps when the new price is released, there will be more dealer discounts given to attract customers smile.gif

I have used this before. Overall it looks good and has a nice heft to it. But the metals used are cheap and get tarnished very easily. Also, after awhile the flip mechanism wears out and feels loose.

I used it for about a year before reverting back to my stock key. Mine didn't come with the silicone sleeve though.

I'm sure with the silicone sleeve it won't get tarnished as easily smile.gif

wow... rm60 for a year.. prolly that was the complaint mostly, but at least there's a slight improvement..
but surely the flip is gonna be loose after a year... can adjust or change some of the parts inside to improve the flip?
*
I've tried tightening the spring mechanism by coiling it under more tension to no avail.

It seems that the reason it feels loose is that the socket for holding the screw in place has worn out, causing the key to wiggle about.

Here's a couple of pics on the current condition of the flipkey laugh.gif

I am considering to buy proton exora premium model. Currently driving persona and gen2 cps.

I looked into the service info and saw that timing belt is required to be changed at 120k. currently my persona is required to change this at 80k.

Does it mean the timing belt for cfe engine is a bit more tough? should I have mistakenly informed previously for the timing belt of persona?
*
I recall a fellow member mentioning here not long ago that his timing belt needed to be changed around 80k+ km mileage.

I was informed that it should be 80k. If you look at the second post of this thread, there is a service info. The info suggests that the timing belt of cfe exora should be changed at 120k. O.o
*
Yup, someone brought this up before too. I don't recall exactly why as I haven't been following closely, but my understanding is that the timing belt needs to be checked for its wear and tear way before 120k km mileage. There is a chance for timing belt failure way before the 120k km mark.

Most likely one of the ABS sensor at the tyres kaput already. Just send it in to SC to get it swapped out smile.gif

Hi Yall

I have recently made up my mind for EB Executive. At proton showroom, SA said if i buy 2015 model i am entitled for RM 2061 REBATE biggrin.gif  but if i take 2016 EB then No rebates at all mad.gif

So what you all experts suggest? should i go for 2015 or one shot settle for the new version.

Any notable differences internally/externally or just the year difference.
Appreciate a reply

P/S: Please add me to the thread  brows.gif
*
I'd go for the 2016 unit. Yes there's RM2k rebate for the 2015, but the first year depreciation for the EB is already significantly more than that amount smile.gif

The cost to replace this oil cooler is rm700++ incl installation. Proton so far suggest to change every 40,000km. What the hell? It shouldn't be wear and tear part.

When the hose burst during driving the car, you wont notice until the engine sounds rough and got white smoke. By that time its too late coz your engine already wear from the inside.

Like my exora bold right now, after fix the oil cooler my engine already sounds almost like lorry-diesel engine (yes that bad, and proton dont even entertain my complaint and say its normal)  coz engine internal already worn. If i kena the second time, confirm need to do full overhaul job
*
So what can we do to ensure this doesn't happen? Also what are the common symptoms.

Please do enlighten us. It would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

It burst when it want to burst. No symptoms.

For some cases if lucky you can see the oil hose cooler already covered in oil, then need to replace before it burst. Oil cooler located near the alternator and engine oil filter. You cant see from the top. Need to crawl down under the car. And the particular hose that burst cannot be seen from below, need to use mirror or camera because the hose is located on the upper side of the oil cooler.

One user share his story. His oil hose burst, sent to SC to replace the hose. After 2 days it burst again.

It is very unpredictable. Some owner already more than 100, 000 km but havent burst yet. New owner 20,000km also ada yang kena

How to avoid?
So far no permanent solution yet. Some owner already change to hydraulic hose,  some already change to aftermarket oil cooler.

Aiyo why la doh.gif

Thanks for sharing btw. Hopefully Proton issues a recall soon
