Hey everyone, long time no see... Been busy in this US-based Star Wars forum (blame "The Force Awakens" for re-igniting my strong interest in this space opera) and flying around with the Millennium Falcon all this while! laugh.gif

Anyway, with regards to this recall, does this affect my Exora that was purchased last September? Coincidentally, I also fixed an appointment with the PJ Jln. 227 Service Center for next week as I missed the second servicing by several thousand kilometers, haha! laugh.gif

Happy Chinese New Year to those of you celebrating, by the way! rclxms.gif

Not sure. Just ask the service personnel when you send your car in smile.gif

Hi Guys, just back from SC center to have my aircon-compressor bearing replace(cold start got squeaky sound). rclxms.gif
While waiting for the replacement job, did chat with 1 of the service rep & was told this Oil Hose replacement is " 40K service initiative replacement" instead of recall. For those EB that exceeded warranty will need to pay(~RM12 for hose exclude the clip). In other word when reach 80K we will need to replace with our own pocket money,,, notworthy.gif
*
Mine has this too. Where did you get your service done?

yeah just the rubber hose. sad.gif
i did asked about the rumoured permanent steel hose, surprisingly they don't know about that. or maybe i asked the wrong person. doh.gif
so at the moment we got to check it at every 40K interval. cry.gif
*
So they replaced the old rubber hose, with a new rubber hose? Hopefully the new rubber hose is more durable and reliable doh.gif

So last two weeks i changed my och.
Today my car break down.
Engine oil is spilling down.
Car sounded rough.
Call sc they say should be the hose.
I was like wtf man i just changed.
Now waiting for tow truck.
Wtf proton.
*
Eh wtf bro that's ridiculous. Pretty sure the SC didn't do a good job tightening the new hose or something.

Unacceptable.

For the first time, my engine died when engage R.

Was maneuvering into a parking spot and was quickly switching between D and R. Suddenly engine died when I engaged R. Had to restart the engine and everything went back to normal again.

Tried replicating it again afterwards but it didn't happen again.

To my recollection, I remember many members facing this before and a ECU + TCU reflash did the trick? I also remember something about clutch adaptation or something hmm.gif

edit: I'll probably get it rectified when I send my car in for OCH recall hmm.gif

Ah yes I remember this. It was mentioned by our fellow member Alexei not long ago.

Those who have tried it, does it really work?

Also I think it's worth mentioning since about 2 weeks ago, my gearbox has slight jerk sometimes when accelerating from medium speed (e.g accelerating when gliding at 40km/h). It's like a slight jerk when the clutch is being re-engaged.

Hopefully this works. I'll try the periodical adaptation tomorrow smile.gif

edit: Just did the periodical readaptation earlier today. Gonna monitor and see if there's any difference smile.gif

Been driving around since 2 days after doing the readaptation. Doesn't feel any different.

Definitely gonna get an ECU/TCU update or reflash during my next service smile.gif

My SC readaptation was done with the battery terminal removed, I think. It was assumed because my car clock got adjusted after the readaptation.

Before the process, my gear shifting is jerky. Acceleration feels revvy, easily goes above 2k RPM under normal foot weight.

After the process, gear shifting is smooth, can feel the CVT pressure raises in sync as the gear shifts into position, and less RPM dropping until stalling. Hill assist is more robust, even for my CVT3 - just let go the brakes and the HA kicks in. During acceleration, RPM stays at 2k. The car gives the false impression of being sluggish, because I'm used to higher RPM. Floor it hard, it will rev to 3~4k RPM as usual. Deceleration Fuel Cut-Off (DFCO) kicks in more frequently saving slightly more fuel. Hope this helps...

Thanks for sharing bro smile.gif

Currently gear shifting feels jerky and acceleration feels revvy too. What did you tell the SC for them to do so?

Had my OCH (Oil Cooling Hose) replaced at CoSE today.

If anyone knows of a better aftermarket OCH replacement, please do share. Not going to keep replacing something defective (unsuitable material) repeatedly. That is like a time bomb waiting for explosion. Better replace it with something suitable for its purpose and use.
*
Eh if like this kan, if warranty over might as well just go get the hose replaced aftermarket with something more robust la doh.gif

When I go to SC, I don't tell them what to do.

I'd tell them my user observation, and let them fix it. First time I talked about vibration, they changed the engine mounting, the second time, I told them exactly what you're saying... they did the readaptation.
*
I see smile.gif Which SC do you go to?

QUOTE(andromedia @ Mar 15 2016, 02:21 PM)
Those affected, where mileage is less than 30,000km, don't be in such a hurry for a replacement... hold on to it a little so that you can get a brand new OCH and buy some time before the next replacement.

Besides, most SC won't change it for you if your mileage is low... they will tell you to reschedule at a later time and priorities are given to those with 40,000km or above...

In short, it's still buying time... Proton buying time, Owner also buying time.
*
My mileage is about 31k km now. Getting close to the 40k km mark. Feels like a ticking time bomb unsure.gif

My exora bold at 2400km mileage...suddenly SRS flashed up and stays on.... after driving for about an hour the flash disappeared. Went to SC wasted an hour plus for checking... SC told me they reset the sensor or something... something about high resistance but no major issue

Felt abit worried that at 2400km already got light flash problem some more its the SRS light.. duno if airbags ok or not

It also reduced my confidence towards proton cars... car is well taken care of,never even pressed the turbo button and I always follow speed limit. Its weekend car and usualy just parked at home

Oh proton please dun make me regret.any bros here had same issue and any details to share... do you think airbags are ok in my case

Been using Bridgestone Ecopia EP200's on my EB for nearly half a year now.

So far so good. I'm no tyre expert so I can't comment on handling or grip, but what I can say is that it is significantly more quiet compared to the stock Champiro BAX2's.

Especially on highway speeds, there's a very noticeable difference in tyre noise smile.gif

nice... interested too

I don't remember how much exactly it cost as the tyres weren't changed by me. I do remember the RRP is quite close to the Michelin XM2, but we managed to get it quite abit cheaper because we personally knew the shop owner smile.gif

Not exactly sure how this tyre compares to the XM2 as I've never tried it before. Some say XM2 better smile.gif

The original tint is good enough really. Exora's airconds are pretty strong so even on a hot day is no problem smile.gif

No need for unnecessary warm up periods. Just don't floor the pedal right after cold start and you'll be fine smile.gif

Usually just one crank of the key and the cfe engine starts. Lately sometimes, not all the time, needed a few crank and sometime after starting the engine stopped. Drives fine. New battery. Any idea?
*
I have this problem since the car was brand new too. Doesn't occur very often but it occurs at least once a month. Initially I tried to get it rectified at Proton service centres in Mutiara D'sara and CoSE HQ and even had to leave the car overnight but usually they aren't able to replicate the issue and no solution is found.

I managed to get a video of the overcrank occurring to show it to the service personnel, but to no avail either. Eventually I just gave up and lived with it sweat.gif
