Rappelz Epic III README
This will install Rappelz Epic III alongside the current version of Rappelz. Please keep and use the current version of Rappelz until Epic III is launched. After Epic III is launched you may uninstall the previous version of Rappelz.

The Rappelz Epic III client will not work with the previous version of Rappelz!

Installation Instructions:
1. Extract all files from RappelzEpic3.zip.
2. Run RappelzEpic3_USA_061212.exe.
3. Select install directory (must be different from the current location of Rappelz if an older version of Rappelz is currently installed).
4. Install.
5. If Epic III has not launched (12/20/06 is Launch Date):
A. Continue to use old version of Rappelz to play.
B. Uninstall old version of Rappelz and use Epic III client after Epic III has launched.

If Epic III has launched:
A. Uninstall any old versions of Rappelz.
B. Use Epic III version of Rappelz to play.

By the way, just in case if any of us forgot or simply confused on how to log into the forums, use your gPotato U/N and ID details.

Lagging? Here's how to troubleshoot that:-
1. Do a hard reboot to your ADSL modem/router by turning it OFF then back ON. This will allow the modem/router to relog you back and it will try to detect and connect to a different external/public IP than what you'd connected to previously. The suggested IP to connect to for Rappelz is: 60.5x.x.x instead of 218/219.x.x.x if you're a Scramyx user.

2. You can also perform a soft reboot by accessing the modem/router's page through your default web browsers such as IE, FF or Opera. You do this by typing the default gateway address (usually 10.0.0.2 for some brands, or 192.168.254.1/192.168.25x.x for other brands, refer to its respective manuals or Google those up). For Aztech users, you do this by either clicking on 'Save settings' and for the rest of the brands, there's always a properly labeled button.

ADVISORY: BOTH of above steps are HIGHLY 'areas of service'-dependent, meaning that if your area is served by a fixed 218/219.x.x.x ranges of dynamic IPs, then (to put this bluntly) you're shit outta luck.

Ok..Reporting in for 1st day of CB...

Level: 4 *lol* can't be bothered with levelling at this stage.

To start off:-
1. Anyone selected for the CB might wanna turn down the texture bar to half for the graphics settings 1st before anything or use the 'Medium' setting in the Options/Settings accessible by Alt+Z hotkey for System's options.

2. Mega laggy. A normal thing for 1st day.

3. Pretty good tutorial phase at beginners' NPC.

4. Yeah I forgot SS some =p Pardon me on that.

5. Yeah not sure yet if Asura guys or girls can dual wield yet. Got a basic weapon for the 1st quest and can't seem to equip that in dual wield mode.

6. Map is extensive enough with the training island (beginners' zone) well isolated. Probably to let the tutorial stage be properly participated by all.

7. The basic skills are upgrade-able with NO NPC dependency. You can allocate the JP (Job points) on the fly by the skills window or Alt+S. A nice thing really. The proper 'Up' button would be highlighted if you meet the needed requirement.

Will be adding more soon. And thanks to jenniferjen for having to put up with my incessant chats lol. Crazy CB test timed at 3am >.< so I had to add something to do to keep me awake whilst I was running around.

Err... so far so good,
Been an asura strider focusing in crossbow, pretty good if you ask, but all class are pretty equal.

I hate the fact that the gameplay is somehow in slow motion, everything is kinda slow pace. You don't attack fast, you wont be traveling fast (unless u get mounting pet), and the equipment variety is low, (you change equipment once in every 20 level?), and most of all, the requirement is very high. I almost got lag and delay, which really pist me off.

Other than that, is quite a decent game, with interesting pet features, plus a very good quest system which help leveling, farming jp and getting fast cash!

Overall, is a moderate game, where i forecast that you will get bored pretty fast due to the lack of mobs to kill. I hope they fix the countless bugs which occur now in the close beta.

Other than that, is worth a try, but i think is not going to be everyone cup of tea.

So far so good to me. Lack of equipments might be some disadvantage to many but it actually make things much simple and straight. You wont actually need to stop always and search for new equipments and spend countless cash for equipment which going to use maybe for 3 to 4 levels. Also upgrading equipments in this game should be good enough as I dont think it had failure rate. Mobs is bit low and sometimes too scattered around the area. Also lack of description for skill on different class on the website is really troublesome when planning up on the skill.

wow just watched some of the clips....kinda like a L2 wanabe to me...gona try it once its OB since theres malaysian community ehhe

Speaking of the incoming OB, (which is soon at around this Monday give or take...) patch servers are up now. Better patch the client up now prior to OB opening.

hmm.. is the connection to rappelz laggy, or is it tmnut problem? My character seems to lag randomly when attacking monster.

Most of us are having lag spikes alot and the non-pvp sv crashes alot lately ~_~

HOnestly, i dun encounter lagness so much. Even so, it would be my pc which do not had enough memory. But since the Open Beta, is quite good, try tweak your graphic a bit, it should help, if you go for max graphic quality, your pc might not be able to take it.

No it's definitely the connection. If my pc can take on GE, i can't see why my PC can't handle Rappelz. Furthermore, the servers has experienced countless of crashes and there isn't a single action taken up by the Gpotato staffs.

The lag feels like graphic choking but thats on a 7300GT, I'll try that on a 7600GT tomorrow... but serious the graphic details is just average.

Its suppose to be beta where u explore and test every aspect you can and report bugs. To get to 30 in a week is asking you to grind and forget exploring and test. I think this is where they lost the plot. I am all for 30 and being rewarded but grinding to 30 in a week defeats the purpose. I have no doubt its possible if you have time and some will do but is this what beta is all about rushing to 30 and ignoring the bugs?

I agree with zaakath, this is not the point of beta, but they need to attarct more people, but then again, the server was lag with more and more playr getting into the server.

The answer is yes.I already got 2-3 guild mate level 28-29. So is not hard actually, you do grind, but just grind with all your quest in hand. Then you will be getting instant lot of exp and JP for you to progress.

hi..i m juz lvl5..what is JP? i juz click the jlv up..and my jl lvl is 2 now..what is that huh..so i juz keep up at jlv? to learn new skill? somehow some mob i hit never receive jp 1..why ah? and this game cannot let us add character stats like str and dex huh?

btw i m lvl5 and i add my job lvl till lvl6..is that ok?

job point to use either for your job skill or job level. it's up to you anyway to which one is your priority...i think the concept is almost the same like a silkroad where the highest job point you collect..the better?

Haha too bad i am in the tortus server, in Harmonia guild, almost all level 20 Above...

Didnt continue on once open beta, since its just another grinding game where I dont actually have too much time for it. Currently playing another 1 which dont require that much time to grind as compare to this one.

Its not that much of a grind as Last Chaos, Sniperwolf Anyways on Tortus as Deva Warrior aka Holy Warrior/Paladin

Maybe yes but I already feel the time need for grinding during CB when trying to level from 19 to 20. Also the lag spike is sometimes quite heavy.

Playing pirate king online for now.

Err... the grind only start after level 28, before that, just travel around and collect quest, and you will see you will level up in no time, at least is 100% easier that LC. I am already lvl 27 for the 1 weeks opening of the open beta. So as to compare to LC, which takes like months to level up... bleh.. ;p

I am a Divine Warrior i.e. a paladin type warrior and everyone gets a pet. The pets level slow and you really have to manage them in the early stages. They do not take your experince away as their experince is seperate from what you gain. Being a Divine Warrior we have great hp but unlike the other warriors from Gaia and Asura we do less dps. We are more effective as an agro tank taking most of the mob hits which is usually done with a shield.

As for summoner I don't have any experince with them but they do get spells for their pets only and some of the skills comes earlier. For more information on classes and skill below is a good site

All those mentioned can be easily found on any mmorpg honestly. There rarely 1 person can handle the boss in mmorpg unless those miniboss which actually maybe 10 or more lower level than your character. Good community will indeed be a good plus for the game Getting to lvl27 in a week? That quite long to me. I get to that level in PKO in around 2 to 3 days and as currently at lvl36, I only play awhile after work last night for around 2 hours, and already found that I gain more than 50% exp. Not to forget bout other things like sea war

And do remember not actually everyone had alot time on gaming, unless you are still a student. For those which usually tide with work, they are always being left out behind even when you are in a guild and in the end, you are back to solo as usual. I not here to critize the game, as its just something I feel during CB on leveling in this game, which doesn suit me too much. Overall its quite a good mmo beside the slight bit heavy grinding, which of course to me

HI there guys
I am still in low lvl duhhh lvl 16 strider.
So basically just do all the quest to grind to lvl 20???
As i am focusing on duel wielding thus i am focusing on lvling my sword mastery to lvl 5.
However my Jlvl is low as in Jlvl 12
So anyhow my current sword mastery is lvl 4 so any idea i shud up other skill or maybe job lvl 1st instead of the sword mastery?
I have been stop playing for 2 days due to busy stuffs.
And i logon this morning found out i have 4k + stamina lolx
I go lvl a bit (solve quest) n its easily get me 65% of my Clvl.
Just wonder for me now, even if i mean if stamina = 0
still just do the quest to lvl or might stop a while to wait for the stamina.
I know if we wait for stamina in town kind of waste of time!
So any suggestion plzzZ???
And i am looking forward for a malaysia guild or with any of u guys out there, it will be more fun i think as i am always solo T.T

What i would do if i were you create an alt and just play between 2 to level up and make use of the rest so that you get good stamina I find you level much faster. Alternatively if you can get stamina potion it is another alternative which come from quest and don't think you can buy from the vendor

You didn't say which server you are on but we have 23 members on tortus (PvE) server all around the +8GMT so essentially singaporeans and malaysians in a guild called Solaris (link is on the above post). We are all around your level the highest being level 24 or 25 now.

I am a Divine Warrior, Deva class so can't give you much help on the Strider warrior. We are total opposite as my role is for tanking the mob as I have good agro management with stuns from mace and shield and a good defensive shield block to mitigate damage.

Sniperwolf : Truely agree with what you meant, working people like us had not much time to grind, but the gameplay really hook me up, and there is still lot to explore so far which didnt made me bored at all. And most importantly, i was in a very good guild, Harmonia (One of the best in Tortus), with the highest level player of 37 and all out average of 25-35 level of players. The community is the one thing that made me stay even the lagness was bad. That is why i usually played in the early morning before i go to work (wake up a little early that usual).

fjoru: So far as i was thinking, most people try to mastered what they need to mastered first before moving to jleveling, but i got lot of advice from higher level people that is better to put in all the prereqs for all your skills for the next level skill instead of maxing every skill. Higher jlevel gives great spells for some class like me, getting a double shot buff at jlevel 25, which is devastating with high % chance to strike. So my advise is to go for all prereqs for all skill then move on to your jlevel for the next tier skill. Skills can be mastered later when you advance.

ps : Is so sad now that I am starting to grind, there is no more quest after level 28 till level 29. So 2-3 level to grind, but is time to really get close to your guild mates, party to grind..... And as a note Cleric rocks.

nice to see some LYN members playing this game. i just started 2 days back and i'm in lvl 16 now. oh...btw, IGN MeRoViNgIaN, Asura Dark Magi. the game gets quite a bit laggy in kanthan (or kathan) due to loads of people in there. lags occasionally. wasted 8000 rupees once on trying to tame a pet.

anyway, heard you guys got a guild in there? can i join? why don't the TS list down all LYN players IGN so that when we do meet each other in game, we know who we are.

Over the weekend the lag was so bad on Tortus just wondering if anyone had the same problem. When I went on 9Dragons no such lag. Server congestion or just TmNuts?

its got to be tmnuts, and yeah the lag made the game unplayable at certain time especially between 8pm to 12pm then getting slightly better (malaysia time). I usually wake up at 4am to play till 7am and wash up to work. That is the period where the whole game run extremely smooth for me even with most spec on at high.

People been complaining about tmnet having problem since thier latest maintenance on the bittorrent issues, where lot of gamers cant played their online game at all at certain period (mainly games with their main server being located oversea). I just hope they really look into this matter and fix the problem, cause is quite torturing to wake up at 4am everyday.

Let me try to answer some of your questions

1. Yes your pet can evolve the 1st being at level 40 and applies to all pets you have. You can overbreed them too which means you let it grow beyond the 1st stage of evoloution. When you evolve the pet you will maintain all the skills acquired upto level 40. Off course if you overbreed it, the pet will be better as there are further skills beyond 40. For the pk problem, tortus is a mild pk server, you still can pk, but you wont lose exp and jp from pking and killed by other players. COmpare to pantera server, they will lose exp and randomly drop items if they get killed by other players. That the different.

just wondering 8pm time, did you got a heavy lag till the game is unplayable at all. occasional freeze and dc? Cause me and my fren is having this problem and was trying to solve it by playing around 4am till 7am (this period, the connection is super smooth!). But the drawback is, we need to work so is pretty hectic and tired after that.

ok tonite is the worst, random dc (not really dc, i didnt got dc but the game freeze, and when i log off trying to surf net, nothing happen), so finnaly end the connection and reconnect, its say either cant connect to remote server or the server was busy (was refering to streamyx).

Cant play at all this hour..... any solution? Pelase help, i just dun wish to wake up every morning to play for few hour be4 i go to work, is pretty torturing!!!

i'll been trying to patch since yesterday nite from 7pm till this morning 3am. Is either freeze, hang or stuck at certain %, then i restart the whole patch again.

Then come to the 3am, where its stuck at 80%. So i just repatch again went to sleep and woke up at 4am, is all done. So choose the correct time to patch. TMnut seem to work well at the very morning period.

I saw you guys complaining more than enjoying the game. Somemore need to stress to wake up early in the morning for just playing. Looks to me the game is manipulating you all instead of the opposite

just to share...i've patched mine starting at 9pm last night and finish at 11.30pm without any prob...no disconnect or hang...my friend is also having this prob of slow connection...i ask him to reset the modem and try again, and true enough, it worked...so i think you guys who have yet to start patching to reconnect to streamyx to have a much better IP...

The game is good but the problems lies with:

1. Bad connection with streamyx, I use my 3g phone as modem and no lag at night at all. Patch went through like a breeze.

2. Patch on my desktop with streamyx disconnects every so often and lag at night despite resetting modem.

3. They really need more servers to cater for the game cause once everyone connects the server can't handle the load

Haha sniper, somehow, i do think is true that the game was playing us more that we are playing the game. Hahaha.... but too bad, this is quite a good game since the last time we played LC, although i had yet to try the other like what you are playing, but in sense of grphic, i quit those cartoon anime look alike mmo long ago, lol.

Yeah, been troubled to play this early in the morning, till less sleep, but cant help it, although i really hope that our service of broadband would improved, especially handling server from oversea (never a problem playing local hosted game like LC).

Anyhow, will continue to enjoy Rappelz till i explored everything, and being in Harmonia guild is fun but too stress, cause there are already 4-5 member who hit level 40+. And dualshock is rite, we are start to be kiasu cause we miss out lot of event cause of low level. That is why we try to get prepared before the seige dungeon come....

All the factors you listed above can already make a good game down. What the point of having good game when users cant actually enjoy it or play it anytime without concerning lag or foce themselves up early in the morning just to patch or maybe enjoy a few hours of gaming.


Haha I dont actually mind the graphic much la as I enjoy the game play and can play anytime when free and like to. If just merely comparing the graphic, I do think Lineage2 is better as compare to Rappelz. Anyway that bit off topic already

I saying this not to ask you guys going over to the game which I currently playing, is just that after looking at rands you guys posted up here, it give me the impression as this game is not that good as it seems. The reason I play games is for relaxing and enjoying its content, but turn out most of you here are more like suffering than enjoying. Forcing yourself up early in the morning to play just in order to keep yourself competitive to me its just bit too stressed. I dont think this will be good for your own health and work in long run
