QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Oct 7 2008, 03:46 PM) damn.... Putting and taking from toolbox maybe it's usable...but from our waistline...it's a bit bulky and heavy as well.found this on dealextreme lol... crazy beast at only rm200 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15686 It may serve well into good backup torch but not EDC (EveryDayCarry) torchlight from our waistline/belt holder. |

QUOTE(refnulf @ Apr 18 2009, 01:41 PM) Haven't gotten it yet. It's $600 if I'm not mistaken. It's good for usage in remote areas, jungles, etc. Wow....that's looks like a very great work lights.....1000 lumens for 15 hours, 2000 for 8 hours. Pretty sweet. My Elektrolumen has 2100 lumens but only for 1.5 hours (maglite mod) Great to have one for keepings...... |

QUOTE(Proclaimer @ Apr 25 2009, 03:16 AM) As far as i know.. You cant just carry a knife around.. Its considered carrying a weapon.. Unless you bring a knife with camping gears or fishing gears then it's ok.. For multi tool its fine eg. leatherman, gerber, victorinox.. Since its considered a tool.. From what i know.... as long as it's not longer than total 6 inches in length then it's not considered as a weapon.Waa.. Cyberjaya to Damansara so far.. My friend last time did being stopped by police for carrying Leather Man tool but since it's shorter than 6 inches and considered as tool for fishing kakis, he was let go..... Added on April 25, 2009, 9:32 am QUOTE(refnulf @ Apr 25 2009, 08:25 AM) Knives are a no no when we're talking about the police. The police stick (collapsable baton) is also illegal. So if you get frisked, you will have to answer to them. 3600 lumens???? wow...that's freaking strong light..... what did you intend to shine???? While we're on the topic, anything bigger than a 4C/4D MAGLITE is also not legal to carry around without some sort of permit if I'm not mistaken. Also, GOOD NEWS GUYS. Mac finally contacted me and my Elephant II Quad P7 3200-3600 Lumens is currently being built! Here's my current list of lights:- 1) Ra Clicky 140CEgt 2) Ra Clicky 170Cn 3) Ra Clicky 200Cn 4) Dereelight DBS V3 WH R2 5) Elektrolumen Drop-In-III wired for a 4C MAGLITE at 2100 lumens (flood) and my future 6) Elephant II Quad P7 3200-3600 Lumens (flood + throw) And for one of the previous posts above, I believe I'm the only one that isn't into SF lights. They have an amazing build for their lights, but right now the limitations with rechargable batteries, the low lumens compared to some other alternatives is something that is keeping me from purcashing the SF lights. I won't be paying RM500-900 for lights which can't come close to the lights I have now no matter how big the hype is. For those attending the gathering tonight, a little word of caution. I'd suggest not making a scene by lighting up the faces of the patrons of the mamak. We do not want the authorities to start banning torchlights with high lumens. This is a very serious concern just like the control of the laser lights. So be careful and responsible. A dark field/jungle would be a great place for light testing. After building, please show us your master piece piece for us... will ya. This post has been edited by patchin: Apr 25 2009, 09:32 AM |

QUOTE(RookieDaddy @ Apr 29 2009, 02:03 AM) Just got my Fenix TA30, cool light. Following is my short experience with it from a user point... (you can visit Fenix TA30 Review - CPF for a more technical review) You're sure your TA30 and PD30 didn't switch place?![]() Things I like about this light: 1. UI 2. UI 3. UI No, seriously, the UI is one of the simplest I've experience with, no complicated "tap-tap-tab" nor "twist left-right", just turn the mechanical ring to the desire mode, and on you go... Things I don't like about this light: 1. 3 x CR123A 2. The length (measured at 200mm) 3. The strike bezel, too sharp! Things I can live with: 1. 3 x CR123A, given the stated runtime of 3.5 hours, it's got a better minutes per dollar than TK11 (1.5 hours) I took 2 beam shot, one on low mode and another on high, using the following as comparison: ![]() On Low Mode (from left, Olight M20 Warrior Premium R2 (OP), Fenix TA30, Fenix PD30, Fenix TK20) ![]() On High Mode (from left, Olight M20 Warrior Premium R2 (OP), Fenix TA30, Fenix PD30, Fenix TK20) ![]() It feels tough holding in hand, but definitely not for EDC, like what the manual says, it's best for "hunting, exploring, and adventuring". Thanks for reading... It seems like they had switch place as your beamshot and your torchlight photo shown or am i wrongly seen. |
