I briefly tried AD700 & AD900. Must say I'm very impressed by the quality produced. Broader soundstage and more details. Not sure bout the bass though coz the song I tried is just vocal.

If I still can remember the sensation clearly, those performs better than my M50, definitely worth to get it if you dont mind the price & size.

Any AD 700 user here??

I'm planning to get 1..How's it like compared to it's competitors, ie SR 80, ALessandro MS1, DT770..
*
I love my AD-700.. been using it for everyday since the first day I bought it, and I'm satisfied with the soundstage and the clear sound it produces when I'm listening to vocal songs.

RM400 for an AD-700? I think it's worth it.. Well, this is my personal thoughts though.. =)

I haven't tried the other headphones you have mentioned though.. Maybe they are better than AD-700.. But I'm kindda biased to Audio-Technica, and hey, you're in Audio-Technica's thread too.. so.. lol..

I think AD700 can't compare with DT770, open vs closed. AD700 is airy, bassless, DT770 is bright, bassy. But the thing that AudioTechnica impressed me is the built quality. I can say it has the best built quality among all headphones, IN MY OPINION. When my friends saw my DT770, HD600 and A500, they always say A500 should be the best, but after hear, all become =.='''. I think AD700 should be nice as a all rounder can.

He's quite true. If you love bass, then AD700 is a nono for you.. AD700 is more to clear voice than rocky basses..

And its open-aired. So you can actually hear any outside noise as loud as you normally hear without your headphone, and outside people can actually listen to your song very clearly too.. lol..

400 was the price I buy last time. But if you can get one in an even cheaper price, then of course its great la! But beware of fakes, some sellers are not trustable.. Thats an advice from another person to me when I plan to buy last time.

I'm wondering too whether do we need an amp for an AD700. Any suggestion from audio gurus? tongue.gif

I found out that my AD700 really doesn't give out any bass when I plugged it into my Cowon D2. I have to raise the equalizer, put the Mach3Bass level to a number of 6 or 7 (value ranges from 1~10), and raise the volume up to around 30 (value range 1~50), then only the music and bass will come out.

I heard that Cowon D2 actually can give out quite some power, and this is the result I got when I am experimenting using my D2 plus AD700.

Does this means that my player needs an amp? hmm.gif

AD series are said to be working well even without amp.

Oh..hmm..I'm so tempted to get the AD700 now tongue.gif hahaa..

Seems like most, if not all, entry to mid range headphones/IEMS have counterfeits..damn..How to distinguish between fakes and oris anyway?

Cowon D2 sound quality really nice ar? I'm planning to get either podi touch 16gb or that...Hmmmm..tongue.gif

Fiio E5 amp cannot be placed in context right here? hahaha..As my headphones are all low-impedance ones, I think thats' the reason there's no notieable difference when I plug my FIio e5 amp into creative ZVM..

Those price seem expensive than online store like Amazon.jp. Not yet includes tax rebate? IIRC, japanese being offered tax rebate for most of their purchase.

If convert to MYR, some of Akabane, Walabies and SE selling here are cheaper than purchase in Jpn, due to the higher JPY rate nowadays.
Tax rebate, not sure about it though. How it works still baffled me.

I just checked, BicCamera at Ikebukuro selling AD700 at JPY 14,000, (RM 502) cheaper than at Yodobashi Akihabara.

I think AD700 is a great headphone for it's price. Just that since it's an open-can so you can still heard noise from outside. M50 is closed so there's some sort of isolation in it.

BicCamera Ikebukuro is rather easy to reach, just hop on JR Yamanote line to Ikebukuro, exit the station, and check out the left side for a big shop. The name in Japanese is ビックカメラ (Bikkukamera).

so far I just came across 2 places which has lots of Audio Technica headphones to try. One is BicCamera Ikebukuro, another is Yodobashi Akihabara. Both are located in the opposite direction of each others though.
