QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Aug 7 2008, 11:48 PM) SG Stereo guy recommends me to get this for classic and vocal music. umm, there are much better option for classic than AD2000.(personally i wont recommend you to get it for classical, in fact i never heard anyone recommending it for classical.)I cannot find any in depth review for this headphone(even in head-fi forum). it's SGD409, how much you can get there? And search again, there are tons of review for the AD2000 in head-fi AD2000 is good for every genre(opinion i got from both head fi and other japanese forum). But it does not do every genre particularly well either. |

QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Aug 8 2008, 11:22 PM) Oops, I'm actually interested in AD1000 not AD2000. A very big difference there.... The salesman told me K701 and DT880 is too much for ibasso boa. But still, although a lot lesser, there are still some review in headfi. I think the main difference between those two is AD2000 have more bass. And more clarity. |

QUOTE(Tachikoma @ Aug 21 2008, 10:13 PM) Well, if you don't mind taking a bus ride to Singapore, there's Jaben. Or maybe you can PM any one of the forumers over here who sells stuff like that, ie Davis, Walabies, etc, they might let you audition some of their goods. Added on August 21, 2008, 10:22 pmQuick-ish review of the ATH-W10VTG (I have assignments to finish) - Very efficient, arguably more so than my IM716 - Rolled off highs, so they sound polite - Really spacious soundstage, for headphones. Imaging is good; the sound sources aren't just "point-sources", but have some body behind them. - Jacked up midrange, very nice for vocals. This is the headphone's main strength. - Doesn't go very deep, but there's lots of midbass. - Some colouration, piano doesn't sound quite right. - Slow-sounding; notes always seem to have half a second more decay than they normally would. - Comfort is decent, but can get stuffy inside those earpads. Unfortunately, I can't run them off my main source, so I'm mainly evaluating them off my integrated soundcard and my Zune. I never heard the W10VTG so take my comment as a grain of salt. But no harm trying it. |

Mmm, the a2000x, from the reviews I read it seems like almost all the reviewer are not really happy with its bass performance.

yeah I know what you mean, usually when I test the equipment myself I got very different impression from what I read, but hey, we're not using the same setup or even the same song, so I take all the review as just a reference. Especially in my case where the music matters a lot lolx
So usually I find reviews with those that listens to the same type of song as I do. |

Never tried the W1000 before, but from what I see you're comparing two very different flavor headphones here, I think it's best you try it out and decide for yourself.

QUOTE(Sony Ericsson @ Feb 12 2009, 06:15 PM) Well, I LIKE to listen to as much details as I can. I also like speed. Electrostatics provide those in spades. Also, if you listen to VERY complex music(lots of instruments/directions), most dynamic headphones start to struggle to produce everything when it becomes too complex. If you're a person who likes to hear the bass, then stats are the way to go, if you like to feel the bass, then dynamics are the way to go. The closest dynamics that I've heard to stats in terms of details and speed were my MDR-CD3000 amped by pico and also the iM716 when properly amped. Close, but not the same. However, having said all that, dynamics still has its place as I love my ATH-ES7 very, very much. As I type this I'm listening to Katie Melua via the ES7. Nice. Some people feel that because stats are soo fast and detailed, the music looses body and they describe the sound as thin and anemic. So, to me, I say, stats or dynamics doesn't matter, it all comes down to personal preference and sometimes mood and type of music. You're lucky if you like one and not the other, if you end up liking both then... Oh and the ATH-W11jpn is pretty awesome too. I'll post some of my pics in this thread later if I have the time and if anyone here is interested. In the end, its all about the music, never forget that. Complex Music.....Check Crazy Details.....Check Speeeed......Check I want to try the W11JPN!! |

QUOTE(Sony Ericsson @ Feb 13 2009, 07:56 PM) DEVICLOT, Yes, its still available. I'll check the latest price and let you know later. That's why I mentioned the HE60 or orpheus Sieg, even the SRM-717+O2 didn't do it for me too man, very boring. I'd love to compare to a HE60 since they are the level of Lambdas. I would love to try it too if I got the chance, one of the most powerful electrostatic |

QUOTE(sep90 @ Feb 13 2009, 11:06 PM) u sure? That's why, personal preference however it's lose to the warmess, bass and the clarity of the mother of all electrostatic can.....orpheus and it is 2nd most bloody comfortable headset i wore in my head... other than it exceed my expectation in terms of musicalilty, superb transparency ( same as orpheus) and it is the most 2nd comfortable headset than orpheus... with BlueHawaii heh u cant imagine wat i hearing at that godlike soundstage aledi For baby orpheus, performance wise is almost similar to orpheus but lose to details and comfortablitity of Orpheus.... and omega II wins over he60 over it's laidback soundsignature and not so simmering effect ( too bright ) very very warm and smooth soundsignature... anyway it imho anyhow |
