Another update regarding AT!

Saw many people uses it while commuting. Seems like their preference would include IEM, and some big-sized cans. Spotted quite a few CK/CKM series users, one or two Buttons, and surprisingly, a girl on a monitoring series (can't remember the model, seems like DJ series). it is OK to wear a medium-sized headphone around, but i haven't seen anyone with a full-size can yet.

Checked the price at BicCamera, Ikebukuro. Eyed ATH-ES7 at 14,800 yen. Also saw the noise-cancelling ATH (forgotten which model), itchy..... cool.gif

Also spotted the flagship W1k, W5k, A2k etc on sale. Didn't check the price coz i know i cannot afford one for now lol.
From the on-spot trying, I liked AD900 than W1k though. i'm sure it won't be disappointing if it's paired up with proper gears.

i'll post some pics next time....

erm.... i don't really "care" about the headphone, just place it beside computer when not using it. dun have a stand or so to support it.
avoid dropping it. *touchwood*

one more thing, anyone tried ATH-FC700? another portable which looks like ES7, but not sure how's the performance.

somehow i think that a big cans can perform what a tiny IEM cannot do.... so still prefer bigger ones even if I would use it during commuting.

I briefly tried AD700 & AD900. Must say I'm very impressed by the quality produced. Broader soundstage and more details. Not sure bout the bass though coz the song I tried is just vocal.

If I still can remember the sensation clearly, those performs better than my M50, definitely worth to get it if you dont mind the price & size.

Took at Yodobashi Akihabara, so far one of the place which has almost all ranges of Audio Technica products.

Those price seem expensive than online store like Amazon.jp. Not yet includes tax rebate? IIRC, japanese being offered tax rebate for most of their purchase.
*
If convert to MYR, some of Akabane, Walabies and SE selling here are cheaper than purchase in Jpn, due to the higher JPY rate nowadays.
Tax rebate, not sure about it though. How it works still baffled me.

bro....can i know the exact place in Tokyo can audit all headphones....??
coz i am going this end of month.....
by the way...u said tht AD700 can beat your M50 is tht true....if yes i would consider myself a pair loh...
wat headphones u could suggest me to buy in Japan??
*
I just checked, BicCamera at Ikebukuro selling AD700 at JPY 14,000, (RM 502) cheaper than at Yodobashi Akihabara.

I think AD700 is a great headphone for it's price. Just that since it's an open-can so you can still heard noise from outside. M50 is closed so there's some sort of isolation in it.

BicCamera Ikebukuro is rather easy to reach, just hop on JR Yamanote line to Ikebukuro, exit the station, and check out the left side for a big shop. The name in Japanese is ビックカメラ (Bikkukamera).

so far I just came across 2 places which has lots of Audio Technica headphones to try. One is BicCamera Ikebukuro, another is Yodobashi Akihabara. Both are located in the opposite direction of each others though.

Audio Technica shop in M'sia!?!? That's a good news! thumbup.gif
but.... why Kepong? sweat.gif

I will only be getting the headphone before I go back to M'sia. That time can compare the price between here and the bulk. If bulk's cheaper, I would definitely get from the bulk.

erm, I tested both W1k & W5k. Perhaps is because the noisy environment and the song used, I think it sounded a better, but not apparent difference than some of other headphones.

this kind of kings and queens need a quiet environment and appropriate source & setups to make it shine to max~ brows.gif

ESW10 is indeed a nice can, good for the eyes and the ears too. but price diff with ESW9 is quite big....
tested but cant really tell how far it performs better than ESW9 due to noisy environment. sweat.gif

now i'm thinking which to get.... ES7 or ANC7. both are priced at 14,800 yen, tempting price....

my main use would be listen to music from computer and while commuting (train and plane) so portability is a must. ANC7's NC is definitely a plus point esp on the plane.

from this thread it's said that ES7's SQ is better than ANC7. I tried both headphones but cannot really tell the difference due to the noisy environment.
can ANC7 performs on par, or similar with those of M series or A/AD series when the NC is off?

the only amp i have is E5 so very unlikely to pair up with an amp.

QUOTE(sep90 @ May 13 2009, 12:13 PM)
i previous had the anc7 b4 sold it away.....if u know wat i mean sweat.gif
sound quality wise well crispy high but loses to the es-7 mid's and lower end extension...
if u wan great noise cancelling effect then anc-7 will do it for u
while the esw-7 is passive close can but nevertheless it is a good can
up to u to decide
*
thanks for the valuable input sep90! thumbup.gif

hmm.... really hard to decide either go for SQ or NC hahah....
another question, is ANC7 easily drived? only got a puny Fiio E5, definitely not enough for a full-size like ANC7.
btw why u sold it last time? SQ not up to ur expectations or maybe to fund other gears?
