That is true but they could at least wait and release it a week before Christmas or something.
New games won't even be discounted that much anyway on Black Friday.
If you're talking 10-20% it kinda happen all the time in the US after the game is out in a week.
At least on Christmas it could be bought and given as a Christmas present.
*
Well, Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping day in US. I doubt publishers wants to miss out that. And if you release near Christmas, it is a bit pointless as January and February is traditionally very slow months for publishers. Make all the money first before the drought. .

Especially the fact that gamers still buy their broken shit does validate their business model of selling broken shit first, maybe fix later. All the broken games from ACU to Halo MCC to CoD AW still sell well. So why not sell the more buggy game now than a more polished one in December?

Off topic:

I think I might have to change my router, my room signal is a no-no.
Need a wider wifi range, currently using the stock one. (Not really good for gaming)
I'm using Unipie, what router would you recommend me to change to?
Will it be hard to set up a new router?
*
I think LAN is better though. And the wire isn't that expensive even if its a really long one. Most wifi chips are pretty terrible at latency.

Some of publisher claim that, this is the method they use to fight piracy.
So they mean day patch 1 is a must so that those pirated will get a bug game.
*
That sounds like complete rubbish to me. More like an excuse to cover up their buggy game release.

Asking people to download 1GB to 22GB(can't remember which recent game did that) is completely absurd. Most of these day 1 patches aren't small to begin with.

Hehe saw you were in CoD:AW. I went in one game and failed to connect to the next one. I just gave up.
*
I tried 3 games.

All load into the game where I pick my loadout, then got booted out. Why are so many AAA this year being released in shitty state?

“The full version of the game will include 4 Warbands: the Human Mercenaries, the Skaven Clan Eshin, the Sisters of Sigmar and the Cult of the Possessed. Each of them will have their own campaign spread over two acts. Several multiplayer game modes will also allow competitive players to test their Warband's strength and strategy skills, both in exhibition and hardcore skirmishes. The Sisters of Sigmar and the Cult of the Possessed Warbands, the whole progression system, the management features and campaign mode will be added to the game during the Early Access period. However, depending on your feedback, there may be changes to this plan."

Seems like there's single player campaign as well. Thou maybe not in the current version.

Yeah, im kinda worried that the AI will be a push over.

Like VC's AI that is pretty dumb 90% of the time.

Also, being a Gamesworkshop title, it is a bit butthurt as they cant expand the game much. You are pretty much binded to what the source material gives you. Especially this is one of their board game adaptations so you are extremely restricted to what you can do.

Would buy it right away if its a 40k title. Warhammer, maybe i'll wait and see.

Focus Interactive is really on top form with strategy games these days considering they have Act of Aggression, Etherium and now Mordheim. There is also one unannounced fantasy RTS that probably inspired by Warcraft.

Cheesenium So I played an hour+ of Titanfall. Ping has been quite acceptable, around 60ms +-. Think I joined Asian servers. No idea how to join worldwide server since I saw more players worldwide.

Asian servers only Attrition (team death match), other types of matches almost no one (worldwide players were available but somehow I don't know how to join them).

I really want to try the co-op. Probably have to ask and see if a friend or two would join me.

Having quite a bit of fun so far. It's very very fast-paced, with so much mobility and verticality, that's to be expected. Only 6 vs 6 (or 8 vs 8? I kinda forgot), but I kind of like the concept of having NPC grunts running around too, and they kind of scripted some of them in a way that you might run into two opposing grunts trying to strangle each other, or a grunt dragging an injured friend to a safe place. So the battlefield is quite populated even though there's only 6 players on each team.
*
Thanks. Looks good so far and hopefully I can play too as I am having a lot of problems with AW. Cant join games with a lot of games dropping off half way.

I like Mirror's Edge's movement system so I think Titanfall will be great for me. The game has 6v6 if im not wrong.

Annoying problem of MP games is how they end up being mostly about Team Deathmatch. I really want to try the other game mods.. but nope, no one plays them. Maybe I will have better luck at night.
*
That is pretty common if im not wrong, AW also the same thing, no one plays anything other than Team Deathmatch. I heard most modes are dead other than Attrition in Titanfall.

Thats partly why I still prefer Battlefield as Conquest does have a decent size community in it.

Yup...the ping is a lot better and quite stable. And yeah, the grunts and spectres are like creeps in DotA. Designed to be game fillers and helps you get points. Ultimately, to make it harder to differentiate between pilots and non-pilots.

Agree about the game modes, but I had an easier time getting into co-op games. I forgot which game mode was that.
*
But arent the creeps kinda of a waste of space to begin with as they are pretty dumb.

I had just finished download Titanfall, feel like starting it tonight. sweat.gif

Talking about Titanfall, I think it was a bad move going for origin. If they went with steam, I think the game will last longer. Just my 2 cents.
*
I have a feeling that Titanfall will pop up at Steam eventually, like Crysis 2.

EA dont own Titanfall. They are publishing it only.

Play la. It's a very good game. Can't believe you keep buying AAA titles as of late.  whistling.gif

I only bought AW so far but the shitty netcode really put me off and also hearing that BF4 is finally playable kinda tempt me to get BF4. And Origin Game Time does make things easier as I can actually test the game legally before buying.

Other than that, I have no intention to get more AAA games. Wont buy any Ubisoft shit, unless The Crew turns out to be utterly incredible that made Horizon 2 looked like rubbish. Wont buy DA:I as I have more than enough games now. Wont get CoH2 Ardennes Assault. And I need to save up for Project CARS and also Assetto Corsa Dreams DLC.

Probably the other AAA i really want is Shadow of Mordor.

I guess AW will improve over time.. BF4 though it took them long enough to make it good.
Things are good already but server aren't that many compared to when the game was shitty lol.
People still play the game because you know.. where the hell can you find a game which is 32 vs 32..
Other than a few like Planetside that is tongue.gif

Ubisoft is shit, but Far Cry 4 is damn good if you are into FPS. I'm definitely skipping The Crew.. I don't think i'll have the time to grind for a racing game. As far DA:I i'm getting it once i'm done with Far Cry 4.
*
Yeah, but now, it does leave a sour taste in my mouth as the P2P is even worse than MW3.

Nah, BF4 PC community is alive and kicking. 40k players on PC daily which is 4 times the community of AW players now, based on BF4stats. Not bad for a 1 year game with a lot of launch problems. I still prefer BF over CoD all these years as I like doing objective than just shoot and shoot.

Planetside 2 is decent but I hate the business model and some fights does get very messy at times.

Nah, I got so sick of the Ubisoft Standard Formula after FC3, I doubt i'll buy FC4 even though it is improved. It is amazing that they can screw up open world games so badly.

and next 2 days, elite gamma going to be released. so little time.

I'm still undecided on whether I want to refund my elite copy. I didn't like where the game is heading to now after offline mode is axed.

Probably no time to play too.

i'm a sucker for that kind of game. you can opt for solo play man.

don't abandon elite. they had a lot more coming.  sad.gif

I'll be moving next year so I won't be able to play the game because it is always online. That's a deal breaker for me.

I really hate developers for breaking their promise on major features as this. I backed the game right after they announce that they will have offline during crowd funding.

So I managed to play a bit of co-op. It's actually very fun! Well, maybe it's fun because I'm still new to it. It's a wave based match against hordes of NPCs. You have to defend a structure for a number of waves with 2 retry chances. I can see how it might get boring after playing it for a bit because it's the same "defend the harvester" in every map. The types of enemies may switch around on different waves, but that's about.

I still had lots of fun though. Smart gun is so OP in this mod. I keep topping the chart when I'm using it. But ended up deciding I should try the other guns since you won't die as fast against NPCs, so it's a good chance to try and practice with other weapons.
*
Looks like if i got time tonight, i'll start my Origin Game Time.

Does it match you with pubs too for the coop mode?
