Well, Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping day in US. I doubt publishers wants to miss out that. And if you release near Christmas, it is a bit pointless as January and February is traditionally very slow months for publishers. Make all the money first before the drought. . New games won't even be discounted that much anyway on Black Friday.

Especially the fact that gamers still buy their broken shit does validate their business model of selling broken shit first, maybe fix later. All the broken games from ACU to Halo MCC to CoD AW still sell well. So why not sell the more buggy game now than a more polished one in December?
