QUOTE(xiaobaiwm @ Jun 11 2017, 01:32 PM) My Almera just clocked 8350km and it's a year and 3mths old now. Going for a service. But that sc told me had to take 20k km service because they follow the month on the service booklet instead of the km. Wtf? It costs me ard 400+ for this service. Feel like ripped off QUOTE(elmond @ Jun 11 2017, 03:28 PM) It stated clearly in manual, 10000km or 6 months whichever earlier QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Jun 11 2017, 07:27 PM) you cant blame them. it does say whichever earlier. in your case... it is the month, not the milage. if you dont want to follow the manual. you can always risk it and void your warranty by servicing outside. its up to you cause you have like 2 more years to go. Surprisingly during my visit to tan chong sc i was told that service according to mileage.. but every 6 months must change engine oil.. so for my low mileage almera i just change engine oil every 6 months until hit 20k only change brake fluid..

QUOTE(xiaobaiwm @ Jun 25 2017, 10:26 PM) I feel surprised when tan Chong using 0w20 engine oil especially in Malaysia where the weather is so hot. What if I were to drive for hours under hot sun? Last time I jammed under the hot sun for 1 hr and feel my car already underpower. Those grab drivers for this car will recommend which oil? If according to manual 10w30 is recommended.. however i see there's a trend of using lower viscosity oil for better fuel economy.. honda also use 0w20 for their cars.. sometimes I wonder is it the same 0w20 oil used by tc nissan and honda malaysia as both blended by idemitsu..

QUOTE(a_dot_el @ Jun 28 2017, 11:47 AM) Looks like TC or Nissan wanted to dispose off their stocks of 0W-20... see the bottles all dated more than 2-3 years old. Anyway, I found better response and fuel economy on 0w-20. Previously, TC uses Castrol Maganatec 10w-30 and this oil sucks, the car no power at all. Wondering anyone running on 0w-30 using Fully Synthetic oil? Any feel on the performance and fuel economy part? Wanted to change back to 0w-30 or 5w-30 fs oil. The xW part is not important, as here is hot year round, even at genting temp it is still not WINTER rating. What's your oil change interval for the nissan 0w20? Can that thin oil last more than 6 months? My mileage normally don't reach 10k within 6 months, but previously have to change 6 monthly when my car still under warranty..

QUOTE(xiaobaiwm @ Jul 1 2017, 01:03 AM) but usually the 5th month the engine oil will start to degrade. You will notice your engine will be very loud and no power I don't notice much when i change my oil.. my car can only reach around 6k upon 6 months.. your mileage can reach 10k within 6 months?

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Jul 27 2017, 10:38 PM) Washer it is a term. It is just something in between the nut and the thing you are screwing it to like a spacer. In this case its a metal ring to ensure the nut tightly lock and not have any engine oil leak, also it helps the nut to be easily loosen if needed, prevents thread damage. Its not necessary to always change it. Its cheap, I dont see why not. More than 2 changes... it will deteriorate. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « [attachmentid=8997144] So it's the screw removed during oil drain? Can be bought from spare part shop outside as well right?

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Jul 28 2017, 08:25 AM) Washer is not the screw. Please dont throw away the screw. Its ment to be reused. Screw = screw/nut Washer = the flat metal ring. Yes u can get that yourself at any hardware store as long as you get the right washer size. Ok.. thanks for your clarification..

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Aug 12 2017, 01:25 AM) I follow SC recommended change for the engine air filter. Cabin one yearly is good. So far I took the 20k km aircond service by SC it changes filter n cleans the AC system. If you DIY and dont go SC for service anymore.. u can buy aftermarket ones. I m just curious whether there will be any issue with aftermarket filter.. engine air filter should be changed every 40k?

QUOTE(nainaabd @ Aug 16 2017, 09:37 AM) Any idea how to spoil the evaporator assy so that i can claim warranty before my warranty period expire ?I know this is like cheating but i think nissan have cheated the consumers more .Wheel bearing /aircon defect is compulsory defect not to mention their service center cutting throat price What happen later if u tried to spoil it it won't spoilt but once warranty ends it spoilt itself?
