LOL, i just came back from Jalan Pudu's aquarium shop too. I might be going to other shops starting next week coz im going back to cyberjaya next week.

I bought crickets, earthworms and mealworms for my turtles. This is my first time seeing people selling live earthworms, i might plan to breed it and see how's the outcome.

Okies dokies. Tortue has been drydocked for the past two days with iodine solution painted on the infected area. So far, so good. One of the shutes looks better, like the fungus receding but maybe it's just me.

Am thinking of keeping this up for the next few days/weeks - blah. That means I'll have to empty out his 1.5 ft tank, filter, plants and basking, etc, put it aside (under my workstation), adjust his heating lamp and UVB lamp and bring the iodine solution to work. O_O

Plus I noticed something about him. When he pees or poops during drydock, he'll start going nuts trying to climb out of his portable tank. If he's quiet and everything, it means he's happy or at least comfy.

Good job sis, keep it up and i think Tortue will heal soon.

neway, i went to 88 petsmart... eheim 2213 no stock and they don feel like asking do i want to wait as they order... and eheim 2232 cost RM364...

oso dropby natural aquatic for de first time... well, i'm sure tortoise lover will luv tat place... they got alot of tortoises... big, med to small in size... turtles, they haf painted and razorback only... not forgetting green turtles too... and price are not hiked up... for razorbacks, it's RM85... ok ar tis price... pet's safari is selling loggerhead at RM130!

i bot de earthworms too... RM2.50 per pack... inside got alot O... hehe... around 50 of 'em as claimed... taktau lar coz' i really din go count it mar...

o yah... i did asked on a cannister filter china brand wan... taiyo as it's de newest box around... priced at RM90 only full package wif filter media and all de complete hoses... tat was de smallest... alil' much bigger unit will cost another RM20 more...

now i'm waiting for de price from pet's safari and oso pet's family on de eheim 2213 and oso eheim 2232...

meiteoh... i saw in 88marine that there's a medication which can cure fungus of turtles... cost RM14.90 if i'm not mistaken... maybe u can check tat out... or r u oledi using tat on tortue? hope tortue recovers soon...

LOL, there's too many people in Jalan Pasar that time. I long time edi never go to Natural Aqua and 88marine. Ive been going to Pets Safari and Pets Family lately. I'll post if there's any new shops that i went having those cannister filters ok ?

hahaaa! sunday is alwiz packed wif ppl... my grandma stays in imbi... so if i wanna go (mostly on weekend), i'll dropby at jln pasar see see look look lor... got lots of fishes in blue pale... so original market trading... hahaaa! it actually looks coOL than those aquarium shops... hehe...

Owh, like that ka. Today i see 4 big turtles there. 2 Malayan boxies and 2 RES in bad condition. Pity them lah.

i saw tat too... it was at de rear of de van they parked right in front of their stall, rite...

ei ei... just tot of it... de next round u go pet's family ah... u go up and on de floor counting from out to in... de 3rd tank on de floor... wat turtle are those ar?? it's carapace are black in color... and de head got yellow lining too like malayan box... but they are not... got one tank is batagur, rite... wat turtle is a batagur ar??

Not Batagur, Calagur lah. Painted Terrapin mah. Later i'll put the name here ok ? Need to recall what turtle they have.

Ekiddie: I got him on iodine so far which is what's recommended (it's the main ingrediant for bethadine)...so see how. If it doesn't work, I dunno leh. =.=

AND he's annoying me with his constant "trying to climb out but end up hitting the bottom of the tank", so I put a piece of filter sponge on the bottom of the tank as a lining.

finally natural aquatic website is up and running again. last time always down one. guess they paid their hosting bill already

it can take up to a year for them their shell to heal

i read that it is very stressful to drydock them for long hours since they are aquatic by natrure. have you tested drydocking them for 23 hours?

i use a canister filter but for my planted aquarium not turtles. very cheap one (china made) rm135 but no warranty. been using it since early this year. still working fine. shop owner at 88 said never had any customer complain even after one year.

good thing you detected early. else will become like mine. (90% of shell already infected). dunno how long will heal

uv on 24/7? then turtle get no sleep la?

Sayasebudak: This little rascal will try to crawl out non-stop for a few minutes after I put the iodine on and when he poops/pees. After that, he just settles down to tidur or just sits in a corner.

where you buy iodine?
IMO tortue is peeing and poing because he is under a lot of stress. thats why he looks like he is trying to climb out. animals (even humans) will pee/poo whenever they are under a lot of stress. that's why when you buy new fish from lfs, the plastic bag will always be full of poo.

anyone used pf the shelf fungus medication before? worth buying or not aa?
