QUOTE(EuJax @ Oct 7 2006, 09:59 AM) HAhah..well Titan i guess i have sin but God i just love them! from irene, Is it the pair they put at the counter? U took the only 2. They look beautifulUzairi, go get your pair! Regards for sulcata adult i haven seen any around, why not get hatchling and grow them to adult. the process would be fun a note for future sulcata owners. They eat much more than star. Double the amount, even their size is smaller than star. And when they eat double, they shit and urine more too. They are much more active then star. And have a habit of digging. Personality wise, they are friendly, not scared of human, and they stand and walk very manly |

QUOTE(sayasebuk @ Oct 12 2006, 11:27 AM) err used to have a map but i think i've deleted it. ok, thanks for the location, if i'm at the area will try to see look see lookgo along the cheras highway going to pj at midvalley (either from cheras or from plus highway). just after the junction coming in from PLUS, you can see a junction just before a flyover to your left (signboard says taman desa something). take that junction and go straight and you will reach a trafiic light. go straight untill you see a row of shops on your left. its located there next to a saloon. the shop is actually more of a fish shop and the tokey there is excellent when it comes to fish and aquarium plants. only once a while do they have turtles. rather ill treated i should say. they dont really know how to treat turtles. BTW the shop is closed on mondays |

just want to share some experience with u guys...
After few weeks of monitoring, i've noticed that my tortoise appetite is usually much better in warmer condition if i only on my uvb lamp which isn't warm, 27c to 28c, their appetite is slow and they are less active. Especially in morning, it will take some time before they will eat if i on my basking lamp, and temp is around 29c to 31c, even in early morning or evening, their appetite is super. They are also more active |

They have lots of new juvenile & adults like: 1x pig nose 1x ally (rm450) - around 18 cm 5x sulcata - around 30cm 2x unknown really a beauty, they put all the big tortoise at the entrance of the exotic section worth a visit |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Oct 12 2006, 09:37 PM) Wah... so fast gone... but the radiated had 1 eye that was tearing a bit... but the pattern was unique... price was like Rm900. i think should be gone, unless they have kept it elsewhere. That radiata has been there for quite some time. Basically the aquarium only left 2 elongate tortoise. All the hatchling star, sulcata, radiata, red foot not there anymore... So many people with tortoise nowdid u all noticed that they have a tortoise poster with lots of tortoise. At first i ask got sell or not, they say no. Later they told me rm40 for that old one. I think they desperate to sell something and at the counter got lots and lots of scorpians in plastic bag. Just arrived. I think 30 of them. Really a lot i think for those who wants big tortoise for back yard, here's your chance. Go grab those giants. Really a beauty. To see the size really can't imagine my titan able to grow that big |

QUOTE(ekiddie @ Oct 12 2006, 11:00 PM) i don think those fellas sold it all d lar... i'm sure they are hiding it... a few shops tat i went to seems like most tortoises all gone... kenot be so LAKU wan mar suddenly... they don't look like hiding em... cause they have so many others junvenile and adults on the displaymaybe they saw in newspaper saying those had been caught selling tortoises without a valid permit will be fine and etc etc... all are hiding their tortoises... tat's wat i think they are doing now... QUOTE(uzairi @ Oct 13 2006, 12:49 AM) They sell all hiked price stuff, coz need to cover they high rent. i feel like getting the poster... but i think it is only worth RM20, for RM40 i think a bit too hikedThose giants ? U mean the Burmese mountain tortoise ? Ive seen them, i would love to have them. those giant... is not the burmese... the burmese is like 1/4 of the new giant's size the new adults they have is really huge QUOTE(EuJax @ Oct 13 2006, 01:31 AM) They have a new Alligator Snapper in Ikano? RM450 only for an 18cm specimen?? Could be a Common Snapper no? Anyway i know they have some hatchling Yellow Headed Temple turtle...could be what you noted as unknown. RM120 each i think. Pretty cool turtles that grow pretty huge as well. it's confirm a ally, not the common oneekiddie, be patient as i am sure the hatchling Alligator Snapper will come back in shops with less ridiculous price. Cheers. Regards. i think it is around 14 to 18cm lar... didn't have ruler tat time looks quite nice the staff said allly is better cause they only eat fish, but the common snapper will eat any meat when i asked got ally hatchling, the guy said now not season yet, but if want they can try to find |

QUOTE(uzairi @ Oct 13 2006, 11:26 AM) Sure or not ? Coz there's juvenile and adult burmese mountain. Ask them, if they say emys emys then its a burmese mountain tortoise. Ally snapper also eat any meat if u teach them from baby. They actually have hatchling ally in stock, just wanna wait till lots of ppl searching for them and they will stock in the shop and hike the price. Usual tactics. ah.... cause i thought it is sulcataDepends on the quality of the specimens. If u tak tahan u can take it, if not u can wait as there's gonna be more choices later on. this is the 5 new giants i m talking about Manouria emys ![]() |

QUOTE(sayasebuk @ Oct 13 2006, 11:36 AM) http://www.chelonia.org/Articles/burmmtortoise.htmThe Burmese Mountain Tortoise is generally considered the fourth largest land tortoise in the world. It is second in size only to Geochelone sulcata (African Spurred Tortoise) among the mainland tortoises, reaching maximum weights of close to 100 lbs. wahlao ... If no food is offered, they may well try a tentative bite or nip to see if a finger or toe is tasty. Watch out, they can bite very hard! ... P.S. later today i've to send my bubu back to hometown for my dad... farewell This post has been edited by titansulcata: Oct 13 2006, 12:19 PM |

QUOTE(Enferno @ Oct 13 2006, 09:44 PM) it is actually not hard to keep a star... just take note of these few things:-1) don't buy a sick tortoise 2) if you don't have much experience, don't get a too small hatchling 3) you have to keep them in a dry environment 4) make sure your room tempreture is 28c to 30c 5) you can get a basking lamp to create a hot spot for them 31c to 35c 6) feed them proper food daily (e.g. sawi) 7) twice a week, give them some calcium supplement 8) once a week, give them some vitamin supplement 9) twice a week, soak them in luke warm water 10) sun bath them whenever you are available. best time 9am to 10am. if you can't sun bath them, you can get a UVB lamp 11) make sure there are no predator around last but not least, give some 'love' to em... |
