Believe me. I've tried so many solutions before for this kind of BSOD. Chin said that it's common for 8.1 pro to have BSOD once or twice a week. But AFAIK, a couple of users here did not experience frequent BSOD as I do.

Of course the good ol DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. Enabled driver verifier, found nothing.

If you have friend which got similar output power adapter, try using it. Or try to use other version of Windows, make a small partition for Windows 7 (no need for genuine as you just want to test it out).
Also, if you can get your hand on a voltage regulator, try using it to monitor the voltage and current which goes into your laptop.

I'll try with fresh installation of either 8.1 or wait for the 10. What's your suggestion on this ? And regarding the one week or one month , it doesn't matter anymore lol. (I'm still insisting on the one week).
*
Erm.. If Windows 8.1 is a must for you, then try a clean installation first. Make a system restore point before you update it. Then update your windows and drivers and create a new restore point. Try and see for about a few weeks or months. If there is still BSOD, revert to the restore point which doesn't have any windows update.

If you want to do it the hardcore way, test it for every software you're using.
I suspect it may be software driver issue. May I know did you install any pirated stuff ? If I remember correctly, last time I tried to use a pirated P2POver on win8.1, in the end my system file is corrupted and poof BSOD sweat.gif

Oh ya, try removing all USB plugged device, be it mouse or hdd or any other thing before you shut down your laptop.

P/S: If your data is not really important to you and you don't mind your data is gone, you already can download the Tech Preview of Windows 10. It is quite stable as of now, but no full features yet. It seldom crash or BSOD, but incase sh*ts happen, I would want you to know beforehand.

From the website, it is still IPS/AHVA screen. So either the website is outdated, or they are using a different brand screen.

Well I guess I'm lucky that my Z5 is v1. No screen bleeding or dead pixel problem.

guys check attachment first. Is that mean that we can play gta v in 30FPS on z5 gtx860m 4gb vram?

The article is talking about desktop gpu, gtx760 not gtx760m. Take note about the M postfix.
GTX 760 > GTX 860M

Yes, I urge the Z5 buyers must do a thorough checking on the screen quality upon receiving the machine. Ask them to check for you if you opt for shipping method like I did. It is doubtful for me since they claim that A+ grade screen is being used here, and possibly it is the poor installation causes the bleeding problem though  hmm.gif

My screen bleeding is very noticeable even under normal room lighting on darker screen.
Actually I did my research on screen bleeding issue between IPS and TN on Google. And I could not found any facts nor reviews saying IPS tends to have more bleeding than TN typically. The overall conclusion from my amateur researches is, IPS is better in everything compared to TN except for the slight response time difference and price. tongue.gif
*
I think there is no screen which has no bleeding issue. Almost all screen I had seem have slight bleeding. My v1 Z5 IPS panel also have slight bleeding, but it is unnotice-able though, even in low light. I need to switch off all light and be in a completely dark room I just can notice the bleeding. If your bleeding is too serious, try ask whether there is a replacement possible. Like what other said, I hardly see any manufacturer exchange a new screen for bleeding case.

Yeah @PrinceJ already offer me to exchange the screen and im very grateful for that. I know all screen have bleeding issue just that the bleeding level is acceptable or not.
*
Good to know then. But I seldom see manufacturer replace a screen even though it has serious bleeding issue. Well at least that is my case. lol

The Z5 screen is assembled in the factory (the same factory that manufacture Alienware FYI), not assembled by ILLEGEAR.

IPS bleeding is very common in the industry and almost all IPS screens we see have backlit bleeding. If you want something that has less bleeding, go for TN display I suggest.
*
Good to know. But I suggest to have a check on those laptop which are going to be delivered for this issue. Since you all are doing stress test and other testing on the laptop before delivering it to customer, I think it is better to add in this test also. At least it can make sure the bleeding is not as serious as the case for freeze. smile.gif

Hi miong93,

We will definitely assess the screen when the laptop is here. If the screen is very bad, we will definitely report to factory and inform our technician.

Cloud just dropped by our office and we have checked his screen.
The screen is completely fine (closed to perfect) but we noticed that the actual bleeding isn't as much as the one shown in his post in this thread.
When I tried to use my iphone camera to capture it, the bleeding is shown in my phone tho. I just assumed that the phone camera has some features to capture the light.
*
Yea, I hope you guys can check a little bit more to ensure it is in perfect condition since there are 2 people involved already. Don't make people think the QC of ILLEGEAR is bad smile.gif
I think if you want to capture the image in low light condition, phone camera is not good enough. You need DSLR or Lumia 1020. DSLR and Lumia 1020 have better ISO value compared to others.

Am I just too sensitive

It is almost like my screen. I find it okay. But didn't you just said you can realize the different and bleeding even when under normal usage ? If that is the case then you should opt for a replacement since ILLEGEAR accepted your case.
Mine is quite similar to yours, but slightly better. Mine is working fine tho. sweat.gif

By referring to Google
No people said Ips got this kind of problem 😥
*
Just google IPS screen bleeding. It got a lot of cases like this. Well for me, as long as when under normal usage it doesn't affect the display and sharpness, it is fine for me smile.gif
If Prince J allow you to exchange for a new screen then you can decide to have a replacement or not. If not no point to go any further smile.gif

It is good to know ILLEGEAR agreed to have a replacement for you guys, but do note the new screen MAY BE BETTER or MAY NOT BE BETTER. So if you agree to have a replacement, please don't complain later on okay ? smile.gif
Just be considerate to ILLEGEAR team also, since they're bearing the cost for you. You can try out other IPS screen, like monitor or laptop. You can more or less see the same thing. (Ignore those 1.2k++ quality monitor)

anyone mind to share how you install *ahem windows on your z5 without the dvd / cd?
*
To install OS on your Z5, whether it is genuine or un-genuine, the procedure is the same. (mostly)
Download the OS installer, burn it into an ISO format into your pendrive. Plug your pendrive in and go to BIOS and load your pendrive.

hello! can i get some opinion? not sure if anyone asked before...looking to get a gaming laptop budget about 4-5k.
thinking about the brands that were recommended ...aftershock s15, ROG, aw13...

but lately someone recommended illegear, looks quite cool. which one should do you guys recommend?
*
Asus G751JT is a good option, but only if you can ignore Asus bad after sales service.
If your budget can go up to 5.5k, I recommend S5. If not Z5 with gtx970m should do fine. AW is too OP IMO. Z5 gtx970m is the cheapest currently, RM4999
I'm not sure AFTERSHOCK is still in Malaysia or not. Their Malaysia website had been taken down. Try contact storm88 to ask whether they still provides service and warranty claiming for AFTERSHOCK or not.

It depends on what you're looking for.. So far I have never heard of aftershock's warranty service. So I don't know how good is it.. If price-wise aftershock is slightly higher than Illegear.

I have seen a aftershock user so far.. Wish to meet one lol

So if you have the budget, why don't you join the Z5 family? smile.gif

But you may get S5 as well.

The difference between this 2 is

z5- 1 primary hdd slot / no cd slot / GTX 960m/970m (4.2k/5k)
s5- 2 primary hdd slot / with cd slot GTX 970m/980m (5.5k/not sure)

Design wise is of course Z5 smile.gif

Why don't you speak to the professional? Prince J

and check them out at www.illegear.com
*
Few correction,
- Most of aftershock laptop is cheaper than ILLEGEAR. They provide lifetime free thermal repaste also.
- Both Z5 and S5 does not have Optical Drive
- Z5 have 3 storage slot: one 2.5'' bay + 2 mSata SSD. S5 have 4 storage slot: 1 m2 PCIE SSD + 1 m2 SATA SSD + two 2.5'' bay
- Z5 max ram supported is 16gb while S5 is 32gb
- S5 have more display option
- S5 is using triple heatsink + fan (Z5 cooling is better tho)
