QUOTE(de1929 @ Dec 23 2014, 09:14 AM)
hmm... that's the problem lah... who is everyone ? all the losers ? sure they will tell winner are prideful.

you: resign ur job cuz your peer pressure you.
"somebody": cannot resolve unbeliever BF.
tina: don't have cell group and communication problem with leader, cannot bring fren to current church.
UW: cannot forgive simpletraveler.
de1929: cannot write english properly, but manage to overcome a lot of problems

from angle A: i oso write myself prideful:
from angle B: i bring glory to GOD. so i called it testimony.

hey bro... open eyes lah sikit... out of the box lahh... help me sikit2x... help me so everybody can see from angle B biggrin.gif
*
You can't read properly what I have written is it? So what if I cannot bring my friend? I have other friends in church.

You are just a bitter man and can't accept the fact that you're full of PRIDE.

QUOTE(de1929 @ Dec 23 2014, 11:36 AM)
if i express testimonial and people perceived as pride, it's their mindset has problem.
tell me when you argue with general fahmy / Mr Jul about speaking in tongue. may i say i copy u ?
still have flesh maaa... ok lah my excuse... also a message of hope so everybody can give testimonial regardless how many flesh you have
Your definition is not accepted. i defined pride as in Post #1397
My principal works. Mr Zul no more annoying us. It's a breakthrough by GOD's grace.

Who cares about your bible knowledge if it's powerless ? People needs solutions, not knowledge
*
How do you know its a breakthrough from God? Oh, let me guess the HS told you. Yeah right.

Maybe Mr Zul just does not want to argue with you anymore because you are annoying.

QUOTE(pehkay @ Dec 23 2014, 02:07 PM)
Lol ... I think you are confused with the word mindset  sweat.gif ... it's good to have a positive mindset toward the Lord.

The "pride" that they refers to is not the mindset but rather your thinking that you are the hero, the strong one among the others. That, we who don't have "God's grace??" are wrong.
*
Yup, I agree.

QUOTE(de1929 @ Dec 23 2014, 02:14 PM)
that's your conclusion lah... let's wait until few ppl confirm your point of view.
so are you telling me this mindset below is wrong ?
aiyooo.. money2x again... why celebrate christmas ? why don't feed the poor. this is pride lahhh... are you showing of your church here ? humble lahh humble... do you know Christ died in the cross ? it demonstrate humility... therefore don't be a prideful person... look at the devil. he wanna be GOD so he become pride first...

fyi... that mindset is valid as well. people needs food. demonstration GOD's love to people in street during christmas is more important than celebrating Christmas in church... i just label it "negative mindset" cuz i decide it negative. It's right / valid but negative fyi..
*
Your mindset is wrong. Please be more humble and gracious.

QUOTE(de1929 @ Dec 23 2014, 06:50 PM)
don't judge me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

Even I have doubts about this whole business of speaking in tongues.
*
Mostly Pentecostal and Charismatic churches believe in "speaking in tongues".

Oh well, our "Resident Einstein" perhaps can reveal more should you be interested. biggrin.gif

'Speaking in tongue' is something in the past (1st century christian during Jesus time). Now you no longer need to do so.

*
Yeah, that's what I thought too. I like to hear others view on this.

I used to have problems with my life too. Too much clubbing, drinking, etc..

Then I found God again, so I started to go to church, cg and bible group.

So far so good. I have started this "Reading A Bible in a year plan". See how it goes.

I prefer my day starts with the skies opened with beautiful clouds than to go to church and bible studies. I have always been a not-so religious person, so I have problems what it means to work with faith.
*
Ah, so you are the type that likes "sunshine and city lights" and shunned the "doom and gloom" eh? Well, I used to be exactly like that.

I was not so religious and just want to enjoy my life, do my own thing, changed bf every other month, etc.

Now I have found faith, its not so easy. I didn't know what happened but SOMETHING had happened that CHANGED my life. Even my family got shocked. hehe..

Now I have no more tattoos, drink less (except Oktoberfest, hehe), swear less and I begin to take Christianity seriously.

Do you know how depressing my life was before God?

What I do during Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Before God)

- Meet up with friends, go clubbing, partying till 5am.
- Sleep till 1pm the next day, then continue again with another drinking session at 7pm.
- Partying till 5am, wake up at 1pm.

Now that I have found God, my life is entirely different from before.

- Friday CG @ 830pm till 12pm.
- Saturday - go to Adult Bible class, evening - jogging, dinner, watch Animal Planet. hehe..
- Sunday - go to church, spend the rest of the afternoon listening to John Piper; Sorry de1929, I don't subscribe to Joel Osteen, hehehe...

So before anyone else pre-judged me, I dont really care. My past is my past. Stop bringing it up.

Nah. More like an idealistic geek who probably wants the same things as you do (more nature miracles than city lights though), but way more introverted. smile.gif

I quit going to church for the simplest of reasons...and that's not enough geeks/nerds around to have a conversation with. tongue.gif

So you guys can already see how it is difficult for me to have faith at times. I don't hang out with people in church, nor do I hang out with anyone who does not have at least 1 geeky hobby.
*
Does being a geek bothers you? Nothing wrong with being a geek.

Geek have the coolest hobbies dude.

I'm sure there's people in church that have at least one geeky hobby.
