I've got lots and lots of PDFs on my sdcard. The reason is to read them. Why in the blazes does Android want to index the text INSIDE the PDF ?
For those with few PDFs, could you try deleting them from your SDCard and report back?
How to delete? Tone of pdf inside my SD card....I am thinking to transfer it all to PC first. Then trasfer it back to SD card 10 by 10 something like that. This things will cause Samsung lossing tone of customers i am sure as most of them dont even know how to deal with it.
My phone is hot now... battery is also draining fast from 100% 30mins ago to now 88%......the IndexService is still rank #01 on the list.
I may just spare a fire extingusher besides my bed. I will leave it like that for overnight. If you read news tomorrow that someone got burn by Note4..... That's me.

are you rooted? a number of rooted users are having wifi issues over at xda. For me, the wifi on this is worlds ahead of the note 3 since its a dual stream AC chip, so much better WLAN transfer rates.NOt to say that the note 3 had bad wifi though as for normal internet usage it was great enough.
Not rooted yet. I read some articles about the wifi that affecting Note3, non can solve my Note4 problem.

Never had any wifi issues in my home P1 network. Had tested the Note 4 at Old Town in LowYat, various cafes too at BP shopping malls and McD
I see. Maybe device defect? I will try again at other place wifi. See OK or not.
It is more than half hour already after freezing indexservice. No issues Restarted the phone and no PDF issues opening n reading it Strange why some of you had this problem I will keep it freeze for next few days

The simple solution is actually to REMOVE your sdcard.
IndexService actually disappeared one day when I was using the phone without the sdcard.
Better you get one sd card to test. If thr card reader system of thr phone got problem instead of thr phone got problem then you need to claim warranty.
Sudden hotness n reboot due to ext Sdcard ? This is something new to me. My phone averages 36-38 degree C generally ( no gaming) n max I had seen is 40 degree C I consider this warm only I am using Sandisk 128gb card since day one
So about this IndexService.....I believe that freezing it with TiBu will solve it, therefore it *should not* be a hardware problem.
edtai if you want to try 10 PDFs at a time, do report the outcome.
I have a very large number of PDFs, about 1Gb+ on the phone.
I saw that IndexService has 7Mb of data on the SDCard, which means that it is the index file, but if it's going to continue indexing, it will probably end up being a 1Gb or 2Gb file. I won't be surprised since several years ago when 80Gb HDDs were the norm, Google indexing on the HDD produced a 2Gb index file.
