QUOTE(joytest @ Oct 29 2014, 10:36 PM) So about this IndexService.....I believe that freezing it with TiBu will solve it, therefore it *should not* be a hardware problem. edtai if you want to try 10 PDFs at a time, do report the outcome. I have a very large number of PDFs, about 1Gb+ on the phone. I saw that IndexService has 7Mb of data on the SDCard, which means that it is the index file, but if it's going to continue indexing, it will probably end up being a 1Gb or 2Gb file. I won't be surprised since several years ago when 80Gb HDDs were the norm, Google indexing on the HDD produced a 2Gb index file. Ok..i try it tomorrow. Today is full of frustration with charging so many times with the hot cake on hand.

QUOTE(wts6819 @ Oct 29 2014, 08:40 PM) I'm struggling with my Note4 WIFI connection. Seem like throttle down while my S3 can have a very good speed. Anyone facing this issue? Never had wifi issue. QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 29 2014, 09:16 PM) Playing COC while reading my whatsapp [attachmentid=4192140] That why your phone auto restart. Kidding. QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 29 2014, 09:19 PM) Chrome browser sometimes hang while browsing forum lowyat (and also other sites). Does anyone face the same problem? Chrome hang (stuck actuality) in my M8, ZL, Z Tablet, Redmi Note and now Note 4. Chrome just more updates more suck! I need to minimise and later open up back.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 29 2014, 11:02 PM) Joytest : where is this indexservice file located. I would like to check it too I don't know but it is probably in /system/apps. My phone is not yet rooted so I can't see further details. It does not show up in Nova Launcher's Activity Shortcuts either. I went thru every one.

If I not remember wrong. That index services is Google thing. Just let it finish indexing and it will be fine in future. It not index for pdf folder only but plenty of others thing include photos thumbnail.
I had read it before long ago somewhere else. Don't disable or remove it.
Just let it finish, it take longer time if you had plenty data, especially if you factory reset the phone. It can up to a day or two.
After complete indexing, they will be no longer any battery drain.
Another issue regarding sd card, yes it do will make the phone not stable if they is problematic sd card insert.

Lol yeah but I certainly DON'T WANT Google indexing *MY STUFF* on *MY* HANDHELD DEVICE. They can index all the metadata but WTF is this about peeking INSIDE files...... And I'm quite sure the whole index file will end up being quite sizable.

Try searching for it in Root Explorer but cannot find it What I could find is the app info in settings/application manager

I thought indexing issue is from Samsung s finder, not Google fault? indexing issue is one of the complaints in note 3 users. I faced this indexing issues when I used note 3. No more problems once the indexing is done

One thing for sure is let it complete the indexing. It will be fine after the completion and won't reappear after that.
