Hi guys,

If I send in to replace the battery, will my phone still be waterproof after the procedure?

My battery is acting weird where by around 50%, it will shut down and the display will show battery is at 1%? Anyone else encounter the same thing?
*
i'll say most probably is battery problem. mine last time was like in 30% and if use any apps straight away show battery low and shut off

unless you sent to authorised sony centre, you can ask them to test waterproof after replace the battery
got a member here posted about it a few pages back

for the problem, i cant tell the exact, maybe the battery problem. mine got battery problem too
its like charged 100% then after use heavy apps like gaming & camera, within a minute it shutdown and need recharge to switch on again

Hmm really? I though if u test waterproof and the water gets in and kills the phone, you will have to pay the cost of the repairs.. probably safest to try when the phone is still under warranty. i don't dare to use my phone with water now lol

I remember Sony mentioned that the phone is 365 days waterproof in an ad. I think they wanna point out that they can't guarantee the is waterproof after a year because of degraded seals. By degraded seals, I mean not only the back but the headphone jack, screen, speakers and mic assemblies.

In that case it is good enough. In the manual did say that water resistance will reduce overtime due to wear and tear. No doubt, my phone still can survive some oops moment...

or probably not so much since my speaker grill has came off lol

The last time my Z Ultra went oops was last year. Friends prank me at a pool and I lost my phone. After some search, realized it was in the pool. Taken out of the pool and check functionality. Everything is mint. thumbup.gif

Upgraded to lollipop. Really not used to the UI and shortcut. Miss jellybean now..
A question, if factory reset without erasing internal storage data (there is option to uncheck), will it affect any performance?

LOL why revert back to old jellybean
lollipop is not bad IMO, i like better notifications at lockscreen, can set the silent mode at certain time and the most important, write/editing issue on ext sd card solved now

This ^. The ability to write apps on SD card is deal-breaker for me as well rclxm9.gif Especially considering our phone's internal just 16GB.. doh.gif

Haha. I prefer the jellybean notification bar. This lollipop notification bar is more troublesome to me, not sure if im not used to it or what. After i factory reset without erasing internal storage option, seems smooth now but not as smooth as jellybean. Battery drain slightly faster too. But ya some features in lollipop are useful and it is like wow or finally have it now. Will see how it goes after use longer, wont so fast go back to jellybean, just that i missed it, hehehe.
