Nope.. everything is fresh, fresh formated windows 8.1+latest drivers , same ssd. And the desktop still cannot reach optimal setting for cod advanced warfare. Lag.

Going to replace the card this weekend, going to try GTX980 Strix version with friend.

Hi guys here, Im just thinking to buy a G551JM for gaming use...i got use msi's ge60 before which is also gtx860m...i dun like it and i regret to buy it becoz its heat issue and noise is quite annoying, so guys is Asus G550JM better with temperature and noise?
*
Yup. Asus is silent. But for G551, temperature is around 70 to 80 Celsius when gaming and you might few hot on the left side. But still silent ~ hmm.gif
cpu and Gpu share an big fan and heat sink.

I suspect he probably got GPU failure or heavy throttling due to heat...
*
Hmm... 4770k and z97. I will try. I think is something wrong with the motherboard, and monitor. Monitor from benq, with dvi to vga converter connected.

Edit: replace the mb with maximus vii hero, everything is fast now. gaming with ultra setting also smooth. so... the pro gamer series is not recommended. Is it?

uh? what? that's a huge performance differences between the z97 and other chips.

wow i really have no idea it is this huge. :/
*
Dont know hmm.gif I better stick to G750, G751 which is powerful enough already. Oh ya, G751JT consumes 230W of power compared to G750 with 180W. With 20% performance gap with desktop which require at least 550W of power.

PS: Tested G751JY version (Import from Ebay with RM6999) 4GB GTX980,256GB SSD 1600MB/s +1TB 7200rpm . lots of games run more than 60fps( 60 to 70fps) with ULTRA settings. This make me think why we need SLI or all those money wasting notebook other than this beast? . hmm.gif
*save power, and save space~ save earth.

Yup, lack research in motherboard~ ..Its okay for RM399 H97 Pro gamers. That's why the price is so cheap compare to Z97 too..

Just went to Digital Mall Asus service centre, the staff there introduced their sister company which is also doing Asus notebook repairing job to me, mostly for notebook which already over warranty.

RM150 for dust cleaning, repair and thermal repaste ONLY if the affected parts still able to be repair.

If the parts spoiled, they will charge according to the part price.
*
Dust cleaning, fan Oiling, repaste with shin etsu cpu+gpu. I always do it for RM30... loll If im doing it for rm150, I can now afford a car blink.gif

dont know this services actually can earn so much...

the RM150 actually include the repair, not only maintenance
*
ohw.. still expensive though~ Fan usually cost around RM30 to RM40 including margin. If reviving an fan success by oiling which will increase the rpm, and probably reviving dead and noisy fan. then the costing is RM0.

SSD seems to be a must nowadays, i cant live without ssd. After so many years ssd is still very expensive. not because of material or build cost, its because of marketing trick. 90% margin who don't want? hehehehe

Enjoyed my life across G551, G750, G751. No lemon so far. I only have serious lemon on MSI GT72 which is my first msi. ugly design yet give me lemon.

cheers guy. Happy Chinese new year!

This is funny, thinner, cheaper, more powerful compared to Shitty apple "gaming" mac with RM4500++

Asus G551JK DM053H to be decided if to buy tomorrow. Final verdict please? Pros and cons? hmm.gif

Just check carefully, don't get a 'lemon' . return to seller asap if found problem. G551 not bad for budget gaming.

Woah.. no more rubber coating Finnish. And seems to be thinner than G551. Hopefully is cheaper than G551.
