That is correct - if it's the T-Mobile contract free version from the Apple Online Store.

Warranty is a concern though.

But on second thought, the money I save from buying in the States could be spent on AppleCare, which gives me International Warranty for an extra two years. tongue.gif

Just so you know, AppleCare+ (which is the only AppleCare available for iPhones) isn't recognized in Malaysia (and most 2nd/3rd world countries) - the service centers simply won't take your device if it's above the 1 year warranty period. From what I understand, it's most useful if you are in (or spend a lot of time) in North America. If you live (or spend a lot of time) in Europe, it's slightly less useful mainly because EU regulations require all electronic devices to provide a minimum of 2 years of warranty (so your 2 year AppleCare+ is basically 1 year only). I'm not 100% sure about AppleCare+ in Singapore, so it "might" still be worth getting if you don't mind heading down to SG for warranty claims, etc.

manage to see the real Iphone6 in Singapore.. I were say, best in quality!

Firstly was thought nothing special on iPhone 6 design, but during my visit, i am surprisingly tempted to get one. The most attractive part will be the material use on the front screen, i have no ideal what it called. But the shining material on from t screen really make the phone look more elegance and premium looks.

Another good design from Apple. Cheers! will definitely get one soon.

I was sold into upgrading my 5 to 6 when i inspected an iphone 6 on my flight, the guy sitting next to me had an iphone 6!

The iphone 6 really looks much much better in person compared to pictures online

apple care for iPhone is not available in Malaysia.. but if you managed to buy one in other countries, then your iPhone will have international warranty as Apple Care is international.

The problem is although all apple warranty is supposed to be international but in Msia we don't have an in house shop/service centre operated by Apple themselves. So most if not all the authorized service centre here will reject warranty claims even if with Apple Care +

To be fair... about 10-15 years ago, we used to pay almost the same amount of money for flagship phones... where the new feature was "white LED light" or "magnesium alloy casing"... talking about the 8850 era.

But Singapore has, right? So worst case scenario, I head to Singapore to claim. My girlfriend is there anyway. tongue.gif

I'll be able to register for US Apple Care + if I have a Malaysian Apple ID right? Surely they're more flexible now with people globe trotting everywhere for work and studies and stuff.

I've spoke to few Machines JB staff and their answer is a mixed bag...
One said Singapore will recognise Apple care + but another said from his personal experience is no rolleyes.gif
Apple needs to rephrase their warranty terms and give proper guidelines to authorised dealers & service centres

no worries... while apple malaysia don't fix it here, with apple care they will still take and send it to apple singapore. And if they reject, simply go online and contact apple customer service, they will check and verify the situation, then ask u to pack and they will arrange courier to pick it up

or do like waht i did give a negative feedback of the specific authorized service providers to the apple support online (make sure to to make a big fuss out of it. apple takes their customers comment seriously lol). they(apple malaysia) will feedback(or i would say screw? ) to the management of the authorized service providers... thumbup.gif

i'm not quite sure bout that but maybe in terms of australia apple center does provide international warranty while singapore set don't, they had to accept the warranty only for australian citizen in case the phone spoil when they traveling oversea. just my 2cent. but i've contacted australia service center via online chat, they do suggest me to go to QCD and machines for warranty claim. tried to claim at Machines KLCC but they said they didnt cover and need to send back to australia. sweat.gif
