I have renewed with Etiqa for 8 years.

And for next year, it'll be 2 cars with Etiqa. In fact, I just renewed one this morning which is due next month. I'm going to do it again for the other card next month which is due on February 2015.

You need to renew it on their office, they are accepting AMEX. I just did mine yesterday.
But beware, their service are very poor, for 4 person queue only, it took me 1 hour to reach my turn.

Yup, renewed my Etiqa mototakaful by calling them on Saturday morning.

So far, my card is still safe and no unauthorized transaction thereafter renewal.

Thanks for the response guys, hehe i still got a few doubts to ask, sorry if asking many questions, but i really found this thread very helpful to me. Especially on the first page biggrin.gif

1. As for the GST right, i found that it can be waived by 12500 treatpoints. Since both cards need to pay rm50 each separately, then does the two card have treatpoints separately? Means that we need to collect 12500 on each card to waived it? Example like visa/masterdcard, 1TP for every RM, need to spend about rm12500 to cancel the gst, correct? Lol im not using visa/mstercard as much as amex, any tips? biggrin.gif

2. Actually i just realized that both of the card need to pay separately and have two bills, because during application, i was told by the staff that eventhough i got two card, i still share one account and statement, so there's confusion now lol, so whats both of this card sharing other than credit limit?

For finance charges, since both have two different bill, each card will have separate finance charge? Example if 1.5% charge each month, got two card then 1.5% each means in total 3% for both card, am i correct?

3. This may be very stupid question, but whats the different between statement balance and outstanding balance? Lol

4. Most of petron/shell/caltex accept amex at the pump right?

1. maybank 2 card can be view under 1 m2u account. i just got my card last week and can see it under my m2u account. u have to pay ur statement separately.

2. finance charges ady disclose as such:
Maybank T&C
refer to the PDF and scroll down to clause 7.3 for the details.
new card members is 18% p.a.

3. can change statement date anytime, but please note that it requires 30 days for activation. i just changed mine, but the new statement date will only be reflected from Feb 2014 onwards. Dec and Jan statement will still reflect old statement date.

4. depending on your spending style and salary date, there's no best time smile.gif. i change my statement date and maximize the 20 days interest free period till my next salary day wink.gif
*
What do you mean by 20days interest free period? I thought that even after bill statement day, 20 days before due date the interest still on? Provided if i pay minimum amount on the last month, right?

Payment due date - Statement date == 20 days interest free period

Full payment on billed outstanding must be made by payment due date in order to avoid any interest charge and also late payment fee.

1. No. Treatpoints are combined.
2. They share one account and one statement. Just that you need to pay separately. You will know when you get your first statement. Don't worry.
Wrong math, percentage don't add up like that.
3. Statement balance is the amount charged to your card during the last statement month. Outstanding balance is statement balance plus any unbilled amount since last statement date.
4. Most of them yes.

I checked my past record around mid year, it was 5x TP and not 2x for insurance as stated by MBB. hmm.gif
Not that I am complaining, just that I need to renew my other car this month, so need confirmation from you guys.
Thanks. notworthy.gif

MBB's dual card is best to use AMEX only as far as possible. This is to ensure you are getting 5X TPs.
Outstanding balance is your current spending + statement balance. When calculating your balance of credit limit, look at outstanding balance.
When paying, always look at statement balance.

Yes, I knew about this when they revised it back in early 2013.
My eTiQa life insurance dropped from 5x to 2x since (and I have switched to other better card).
Now, the one I have highlighted seems to be the exception. Great surprises. smile.gif

Had to reread your previous post a few times to understand. So in the end you actually got 5x TP?

Thanks guys for the response. I will probably have to call them on saturday then. Their etiqa office don't open on weekend right? Said so from their website. Would have prefer to visit their office then over the phone.
