NewAge Doors warranty service is lousy. Take a long time for them to come to fix the problem. Sumore scratches on door handles back and front! |

Internet views can't be trusted most of the time. As said, you have to do more survey. In Malaysia there's more brands beside the 2 brands you mentioned. Why want to keep the view so narrow?OK I like to hear from others who installed similar doors and their after sales experience and not just showroom samples. |

I installed with top security during fair. it was okay but quality is so so. I would say all price ranges between 1400-1800 is similar quality. Add some security features but i don't think it prevents 100% from thievery. But if you have budget, can try look for Janus Security Door. It's 3-5k depends on size, but its much solid. Pouching they have a outlet there. Just google online will get the address.

If you like the clanging sound of metal on metal then go for it. I still prefer solid wood doors. Security doors are good but like any doors, it's just a matter of time if the robbers want to enter through the door or they choose other methods of breaking in, either through windows or ceiling.
Get the local brand, as they use more metal in their products, but the designs a bit old fashioned. |

I plan to replace the back grill with safety door as well.. so that I can remove the kitchen door..
How expensive is Janus brand compared to newedge/top? Janus design is also totally different from newedge/top.. |

I purchased Top Security door 3.5' X 7'. At first, the sales person was very helpful and friendly. But right after I made payment, she ignored me when I had more questions. She pretended she was busy.
When there were some changes to the installation time (they had to change the time, not me) she was quite pushy. I firmly said no as my contractor was not available, she sounded not very happy. However, the installation guys were better. They were apologetic when that they had been late. Also, there were a minor defect to the door (the lock scratched the frame). I whatsapp the JB HQ number and they responded almost immediately. The same installation guy came on a Sunday although it was not his working day (he stays near my place). Quite appreciative of the fast service. By the way, the only reason I choose Top Security (I've also seen New Edge and THC) was because they have the design I wanted. Also, I wanted the door to open inwards instead of outward, and they charged extra RM100. THC wanted to charge RM220 for that. |

I had just install two New Edge Security door in my back a few months ago. I didn't know THC came out with a version that is laser cut in the mid and in the youtube, it seems to withstand direct hits with gas tank better...in fact much better.
Curious, i was at a door vendor and had a look at THC door i mentioned above, and to me, i can say for the same price range..current THC doors are more solid in construction and better locksets than New Edge. and its just not me, even my installer who is a freelance guy, says THC is better..in terms of construction and uniformity. I concur with him, as both my New Edge door needs substantial adjustment and modification to the lockset hole as they are not well aligned and can't close properly at the first installation. This just tells me that their QC sucks at New Edge..i mean this is pretty std metal door dimension measurements and they should not have such blundering issues...Not one door, but both!!! Personally, after installing this, i felt i still need some form of vibration alarm on it, as i felt the mid layer (the door in door kind) is a weak and can be rip away or knock down. |

I was enquiring at their Mt Austin branch, JB. They said standard is open outwards. Extra charges for open inwards. Mine is single door 3.5' X 7'. Maybe yours is the bigger doors so they absorb the charges? |

I have complained to them twice. They came with two different installers (different from my original installer who have installed my doors) to repair when I have complained to them on the jammed shaft issues, my second door are unable to open as the shaft were stuck inside the hole. They want to charge me for future repairs after my one year warranty end. This is obviously a design failure, whereby the hole of the door frame have obstructed the inner hole and the shaft are unable to go in and go out smoothly. |

recently i have visit Top, New Edge and Stuffgart. find the Stuffgart workmanship quality is better due to they use 1 piece of metal instead of joint to have better appearance and claim better strength. price wise is about the same between this 3.

THC and top/red rhino should be fine. New age is a big no no to me albeit cheaper.
Personally felt new age's door on display is poor in workmanship and material wise. Took red rhino in the end and so far so good. |

I am a customer of New Edge Door Puchong branch.
I feel cheated after receiving your door as advertised as 3 feet (36inch) x 7 feet but after installation door size is only 27 inch wide. It’s less by 9 inch which is a lot of shortage in size. The Puchong salesgirl argued that the door should be measured frame to frame, which makes no sense at all because customers are aware of buying a door which is ‘3 feet door’ not 3 feet frame. Even then frame to frame is 31 inch. (Short of 5 inch) 😂 Then why advertise as 3x7 door to cheat customers when the door is only 27inch (not even 2.5 feet/30inch). Where is the 9 inches ?? It is like buying a L size shirt and receiving S size. I have reasoned with the salesperson in Puchong showroom but obviously she can’t do much as it is clearly a misleading size advertisement, intentionally or unintentionally I am not sure. But as far as I know this issue can be brought up to Consumer Tribunal because they are not admitting this fault and refuse to replace the door. I wish to highlight this to all customers so they don’t get cheated and request New Edge to change my door to an exact 3x7 feet door (not frame). |

Salesperson didn’t inform the actual size will be a 2.5 feet door.
She just sell as 3 ft x 7ft. Even she argued like what you said it’s frame-to-frame. The problem is she fail to realize frame to frame measurement is only 32 inch. Short of 4 inch. This makes the actual door size is 27 inch. Not even 2.5 feet (30 inch). They should have sold/advertise/promote the door as 2.5 feet x 7 feet. Not “ 3 x 7 “ to mislead or confuse customers.
