I was using Google Camera when suddenly the screen goes blank/black. I thought the phone was off, so I tried to turn it on by pressing the power button briefly but nothing happens. Then I hold the power button for 10 secs then the phone rebooted. Meaning it was still on previously. Hmm

Hi all sifus, finally got time to do updates. pls correct me if i am wrong.
My OP is rooted on 33R with xposed installed, fraco kernel and modded lock screen. recovery is twrp. so my step would be:
1. download lastest update zip file
2. uninstall xposed
3. revert to stock lock screen and stock kernel
4. flash lastest update in recovery
5. wipe dalvik/cache??
6. flash super su
Done!

am i on the right path??

Todate I haven't experienced any errors like some have reported. My advice is whenever you update a new rom, do a fresh install. I used the full rom by Calkulin and it runs smooth as butter.

Damn. My baseband became unknown and no service and wifi is undetectable. When reflashing 33r & also the baseband I get audiofx error and it's not fixed.

Plus, my home wifi is down. what the hell.

You update to 38R via OTA or flash?

If you want give it another chance then do a clean wipe and try again?

That's wierd, my reception actually improved. How did u flash is it by ota or recovery?

Todate I have flashed more than 10 different roms, never had such problems and I always do a full wipe and clean install. Don't use Titanium backup if u have it may actually corrupt some of the roms.

There are many new updates from other roms also since 38r came out eg BeconV6 one of the recommended ones, stock 38r rooted with Franco. Everything done for you already so don't have to worry if it goes wrong. Just do a clean install you won't face any problems.

u off all ppl should now it already. for heavy modders, no other safe way but to revert to stock via fastboot > update OTA via adb sideload > flash custom recovery > root > restore all apps and xposed via TB. no other clean way bro

Can try PA rom also been using it for almost a month now. Stable and weekly updates make the rom better. Only thing I miss from cm11s is the lockscreen

Yeah that's what I did too. Just install Franco with clean stock ROM. So far so good.

That modded script .zip gave me false hope. Everything worked like normal and I'm like okay. lol

Anyway, it's fixed now. I shall repent. TiBa-ed everything. Now EFS is crucial to be backed up. I learnt that through this.

haha. there's no escape for ppl like us, bro. i did try the easy way upgrading 33 to 38. but once i encountered an error upon applying the update, thats it. clean method all the way

I think u guys do too many mods and didn't uninstall those mods before updating. Ota is only for good boys and girls who don't play with mods.
