Yeah.. I got the same info.. A SA promises that the vehicle will be available for viewing in showrooms by the end of this month.. Either way, 20 days till launch. Countdown begins.
Yeah, been following this. Bless the fella that put up the English translation. This is very sad news and if they don't get ahead of this, it'll easily turn out to be Mazda's dieselgate scandal. A failure of such proportions is high cause for worry, from just 50,000KM mileage some more. I struggled long and hard to convince myself and wife that having the diesel is a good thing. That it's a Mazda, not VW. The additional power and fuel economy is worth it, despite tacking on the extra care for the DPF, etc. Let's see how Mazda responds, both locally and globally. As an end user, I'd expect at minimum, a permanent fix and extended warranty for new and current owners to 200K KM mileage to be safe & regain customer trust. Global recall perhaps? We'll see.
Edit: Upon further reading. Seems like Mazda Taiwan is on top of the issue. With Google Translate, can see that they allow vehicles with these problems to be brought in and engine overhauled regardless of if within warranty or not.
