Hi,

May I know which branch? Been book for blue 2.2d since Dec but until now still yet to get my car.

Thanks
*
HQ, Glenmarie.
I booked during the Christmas weekend and signed the loan agreement in January.
While the discount/rebate offered by HQ can't match those offered by dealers, my SA' service is top notch thumbup.gif

Good to hear that.
Got VBB kaki too laugh.gif

Btw, which insurance co. you used for your wife 2.5l?
Not with Berjaya Sompo?

I read someone posted that to get the Mazda roadside assistance, need to use Berjaya Sompo.
I let my SA to handle everything on the insurance though, including the NCB transfer

*
The front windscreen is very louya.
VLT of 80+%, TSER around 30+, IRR of 60+ only

The side windows are slightly better with VLT of 70+, TSER of 50 and IRR of 90+.

They will definitely pass JPJ or Puspakom inspection though rclxs0.gif

The specs of the Skytint is in my glovebox. Will post the specs here tomorrow for you guys to decide

i plan to change it to raytech tint..do i need to remove the skytint first or i can just apply the new tint on it, as to remove the skytint additional charge will be add..
*
Better to remove the original tint, as what @voncrane informed.
Easier to claim warranty from the shop that installed the new tint

.....Can I change front tint only?
I'm afraid the pre-tint comes from the factory in Kulim, and there's no option for you to opt out.
I asked my SA if it is possible to omit the tint, but he told me not possible coz instruction from Bermaz.

The side windows specs are definitely better, but who will pay for 70% VLT when we can go all the way to 50% and 30% VLT? whistling.gif

You can try and live with it for a few days while you shop around for better tint.
Some tint shops will charge you Rm80-100 for tint removal while some do it FOC, but may already factored it in the price of the tint installation

any diesel model available stock?
*
Late last month before I collected my car, some SAs messages me that they have diesel ready stock for artic white, solid silver and meteor grey, i.e. non-premium colour.
The DC blue are among the hardest colour to get, other than the soul red, due to the non-premium price but with the crystal effect

Hi all guys, in term of performance for 2.2 diesel and 2.5L, any big different? What is you guys opinion and feeling after test drive?
*
Coming from 2L NA suv (Sportage GT 2011 and CRV 2014), I opted for the 2.2D due to the extra torque and power delivery. As my daily work commute is almost 100km going through Duke and NKVE, the 2.2D handles overtaking and uphill climbing with a breeze. So far, I’ve gotten more than 600km for a full tank although I’ve not been to the 1000km servicing yet. I’ve read others can get 700-800 km for a full tank in mix driving.

The 4k premium over the 2.5L also gives you the extra safety package, although I wish Mazda should have gone for the full safety package like what Honda offers for the full-specs CRV. If you don’t really drive long distance and doesn’t require the extra torque, the 2.5L might be the better option in the long run due to the lower maintenance cost and better RV over the diesel counterpart.

Hey, based on your driving needs.. The DPF regen cycle should have a problem starting and completing during drives. Though, I'd like to ask... Do you notice when it kicks in? And how frequently does it happen? I drive mostly in the city and perhaps once a week go interstate. Gathered from an online manual that the cycle needs the car to be going more than 20km/h for at least 15-20 minutes to clear the particulate matter.....
*
As my mileage is still less than 1k, I can’t really comment on the DPF until I clocked more mileage and more familiar with the car. Truth be told, I don’t notice anything when it kicks in or not.
I normally leave home for work ard 6:30 a.m and I’ve no problem hitting 120-130km/h for 10-15 minutes on Duke and NKVE during this hour, so I think shouldn’t be problem for me to clear the particulate matter.

QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 18 2018, 08:46 PM)
Apologies, actually meant that the regen cycle would be no problem based on your driving habits, cuz you do a lot of highway driving.. I've edited my previous post to that effect. Yeah, your DPF should be in great shape and my SA says it should be good till 100K km..
Haven't tested Honda's Sensing features and I'm glad I didn't. Probably would have rationalized getting it especially due to the ACC+LSF & it being spacious. Despite the CVT, was just the logical choice. But my heart still called out for the CX-5.. Luckily, cuz the CRV's facing production issues and would have made me even sadder. Current car's still great and I can wait for Mazda to do the right thing. Meantime, gonna keep following both car's progress.
*
No worries mate.
If practicality is your 1st priority, hard to beat the CR-V TCP.
But for me, with still 1 small kid in tow, I've chose the driving dynamic over the practicality.
It's also helps that both me and the missus don't like the look of the new CR-V

Hi all,

Just wondering if you guys did send the car for coating / PPF? Any good one recommended in Penang?

Thanks
*
There's one guy in Penang who just sent his car to Sensha Coating Penang.
He said the cost is Rm1k, with 5 years warranty.
But with Sensha Coating, the yearly maintenance is not free and will cost about Rm200 per visit

Can check his post in CX-5 FB group and ask for his feedback/review there.

Hi All,

I got to know from SA, premium colour selection only applicable for GLS version not GL.

Is it true?

He told me GL only can have white and silver.

I havent check with others SA yet.

Thanks
*
Maybe the SA wants to pull a fast one and get buyer to commit to the ready stock colour.
If you joint the 2 CX-5 groups in FB, have SA that said they have ready stock soul crystal red for GL too

Hi all CX5 Owner, can someone please share the size of the new cx5 drop in air filter or where can get the K&N filter for the new cx5. thanks
*
Can check with Sidek of SS Engineering & Tuning @ 019-776 2985.
He carries both K&N and HKS air filter for the new CX-5.
IIRC, Rm350 for each and he can deliver in JB and Kepong.

Replaced the CX5 battery today at Bermaz Glenmarie. Car is 1.5 years old. I exceeded the warranty by time and not mileage. So I got to pay up. RM 646 including labour charge and GST.

The battery spec is Q85/115D23L. Delkor brand. It will most probably cost less in the shops than in the SC.
*
Do you use iStop most of the time?
I'm just wondering if switching-off iStop will prolong battery life or make no noticeable different.

When I was driving the car I always switch off the i-Stop. I pass the car to my son after I got the CR-V. Maybe he uses the i-Stop.

Anyway I wouldn't consider a 1.5 year battery lifespan as premature death although the battery in my other cars have lasted 2 years or more.  smile.gif
*
Thanks for your reply.
Just want to gauge how long can we expect the i-Stop CX-5 battery to last from normal usage coz for my 2011 Sportage, the normal battery can easily last >2 yrs from normal usage.

mine 2.5 CBU used i-stop for 2.5 years until the batt eventually became weak

so i don't think i-stop really shorten batt lifespan
*
Glad to hear that as I've read that some owners had to change their iStop batteries within 1 to 1.5 years

Want to ask, can i opt out the Standard Optional Accessories that cost RM2210?
*
NOPE!
Many have tried and asked before.
And many, including myself removed the lousy Skytint after a few days/weeks of using it.
I've even asked the SA if it is possible not to install the Skytint before delivery and the answer is solid NO as it beyond their pay grade

Knowing Bermaz, that is a very good offer indeed.
I only got Rm500 rebate but luckily my SA kept his word in getting my 2018 DC blue 2.2D before CNY
