Apparently they enabled it with Forscan software via OBD2 port. It's just beside the bonnet and petrol tank switch below ur dashboard side. That's how people permanently disabled iStop and do ECU tuning.

But you have to have the correct OBD2 cable + laptop PLUS knowledge on which HEX value to modify.

I guess most features are already ready but they locked it via software. Examples are the car auto lock, coming home/leaving home lights and etc. But our gen 2 already has that.
*
I see. If we can enable them back from the 3rd party shop, then i am okay with it.

...But only after warranty due. smile.gif

Can check with bro Sideq Salleh. If it's done via OBD2 port, most probably he'll know it.

But void warranty or not no idea. Or can always disable back for warranty claim.
*
Noted bro.

I will wait and see others feedback first.. smile.gif

Not sure how much he'll charge since we are talking about some good features here. The next question to ask if we are able to enable the Lane Departure Warning System, High Beam Control, Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Alert which is only in the diesel variant. If the hardware we got in GLS is the same as the diesel warrant, very high chances we can enable it too.
*
Fuiyohh...I am so excited about that.
But is it so good to be true? brows.gif

Wait until the SA calls you and ask you to prepare the downpayment.
RON 95 is good enough, but some swears to RON97. Depends how deep is your pocket
*
But I remember I saw someone saying using RON95 fuel will make more dirt in the fuel tank?

RON97 is much more cleaner? brows.gif

RON rating is the rating for fuel combustion rate in high compression. Higher RON tent to more suitable for high compression engine. It has nothing to do with clean or dirt.

However,

our Malaysian official RON95 is still using EURO2, which contains higher sulfur then our RON97 which is EURO4M. Therefore, EURO4M > all. not RON97>all.
*
I see. Thank you bro for explaining this.

So for normal driver, EURO2 is good enough right? If want better performance go for EURO4M...

uhh, my sources are telling me that demand for 2.0GL > 2.0GLS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2.5 and 2.2

this is the case especially after announcement of the tax break, as suddenly the masses can afford CX-5s at much affordable prices
*
Hmm..so far I've seen one 2.0GL, lots of 2.0GLS..1 Jet Black 2.2d and 1 White 2.2d around my hometown.

Bermaz is very kedekut, no extra discount normally. That's why when we heard of Non-GST and Non-SST tax holiday season, many who aim CX5 at first gave up choosing the competitor already and place to the one we love.

that's what i gathered when i chatted with mazda dealer...2.2D no available stock currently
*

this of kos i know mang...simple maths only

and yet 2.2D is unavailable when i visited mazda centre recently
*
This is Bermaz fault already. They failed to determined the buying power of Malaysian on this tax free holiday period.

IMO, I think they only able to sell the 2.2D which from ready stock or in their warehouse, and i don't think they will produce more new 2.2d units.
Now they focus on cater the high demand for 2.0GLS...

But you still recommended to place booking for a 2.2D in any Mazda branch.
Maybe you can still entitled to get Tax free discount after September.

I heard one of the branch manager said, Mazda car sales up 70% from original normal sales due to tax holiday.
*
Yes. because normally they don't give discount.

QUOTE(skeith @ Jul 5 2018, 11:11 AM)
those r pretty expensive stuff.

for this 2,
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
Rear Cross Traffic Alert

they r sharing the same sensors, a ex-CX5 guys told me he kena charged for RM2800 for 1 sensor only by mazda. Total need 2.
which is a 50meter x 4meter wide ultrasonic distance sensors.
not to mention this 2,
Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS)
Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) – front

which need a Front Sensing Camera and 2 Actuator to move the light around automatically.
*
So that guy kena RM2.8k so he decided sell off his CX5?

But on the bright side, those features still hackable to enable some hidden functions.

You had to have the hardware to enable these functions and features. Can't enable BSM if you don't have the wide ultrasonic distance sensors.
*
Oh, I mean those features that lacking in 2.0GLS and which still able to hack the code to enable some are other hidden features.brows.gif
If those required hardware just forget about it... biggrin.gif

Yeah, I agree the availability of the Euro5 petrol stations will be an important factor in the decision making. For myself, fortunately the Euro5 petrol station is just nearby our home. Loving the torque on the diesel!
*
Sometimes you need to think this.
If one day you are on a road trip to other states, you need to do research first for the nearest Euro5 petrol station at there too.

Learn from Lowyat /k.

With different account you can stay anonymous as long as you like.

Btw, tempered with the wiring will void the warranty, what if i change muffler or rims, will that make my warranty void?

Actually based on the warranty agreement, it will void the warranty. Just that most manufacturer will ignore it as they know it is only cosmetic mods.
*
Hmm..i see. thinking to change muffler in the future.

those covered in purple and blueish ones..add sound abit... icon_idea.gif

This is true. Even adding additional spoiler also void warranty but manufacturers usually give leniency a bit.
*
hmm.gif

Because I saw many people in MCCM is modding their car.
Thinking that it is okay to mod the cosmetic, but not messing with the engine, electronics and wiring..

So you guys not doing anything on the cosmetics yet?

i am planning to change my HID headlights to LED headlights..but need to tamper the wire although my warranty period has ended

at the same time worried the LED performance not as good as HID....hmmm
*
Yours are first gen or second gen CX5?

I found this site.

From the photo comparison itself i can see that LED is much brighter, but depends on the LED specs also.
