All car will make lost 30% of the original car price once we collected the key, this calculation is provided by one of the resale car dealer. Due to the model keeps changing. Hence the depreciation is high. Until only the 5th year or later, the depreciation value gap will be reduced, hence first 5 years selling car, in conclusion is = Rugi.

No matter how good is the car, car depreciation will surely be a downfall no matter what. Hence house is more on the better investment rather than throwing money on car.

Below are ~5 years of CX5 and CRV....

https://www.carlist.my/used-cars/2013-mazda...-g-suv/3522164/
https://www.carlist.my/used-cars/2013-mazda...-owner/3640859/
- ~RM89-93k = ~RM50-55k loss for 5 years = ~11 years per year

https://www.carlist.my/used-cars/2013-honda...-2-4-a/3637909/
https://www.carlist.my/used-cars/2013-honda...t-view/3580060/
https://www.carlist.my/used-cars/honda-cr-v...ikenew/3534259/
- ~RM95-110k = ~50-60k loss for 5 years = ~10-12k per year

You can see the gap after 5 years of most wanted of SUV for M and H.....to be honest no different at all hahaha!!
Dont compare M3, M5, M6 which is known to be beh ki for RV....

FYI, CX5 is Best Car for 2016.....

My personal experience, maybe not for others or elderly might dont care.
1st day I get my T* A* car, I already feel dont like to drive... for CX5 which already close to 1 year... I will missed it if didnt drive for 2-3 days or when I drive others car hehehe

Bare in mind, actual 2nd dealers accepted price will be 5-10k lower then online or direct sale....

Hey Guy, the latest 5 years warranty and 3 years free maintenance is applicable to the model bought after April?? Cause I've heard from one of the seller in even car bought on March also applicable for that 5 years warranty. Is this true??

I seldom drive it every day as I'm working in Singapore. So mostly is just like 1 hour city trip from my parents. My parents are fine with the seat after test drive. So I'm fine.

You have to see where I'm from, I'm from Proton Saga FL upgraded to HRV. So can you see the difference? Makan minyak, I think Saga is the worst. But anything that is better than Saga FL I'm welcome. I'm looking "housing investment" as top priority as I will be getting house in Singapore.  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
That's the huge advantage, space. And one more, " Cost ". No matter how good is the car, as long we do not have that budget to spend is just talking thrash. I can even say Lexus SUV is better than CX-5,  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif It's just whether I have the money to spend on it or not.

Having RM30k more compare between HR-V and CX-5 meant a lot. How long can we earn back RM30k? I rather put it as my downpayment for my new house.

You all will be surprised how many Honda HRV / Vezel are on the road in Singapore, a lot of people look it as cost effective car.

For family purpose, CX5 is a better deal.

no need to convince him anymore...
he will have great experience driving HRV

by the way, if really wanna save money to invest on properties... i would suggest to buy a used van (since spacious is the main criteria) and use the rest of the money for properties downpayment, even better than getting a HRV

Hi

Any cx-5 diesel owners here? Few queries:

1) How important is it to stick only to Euro 5 diesel vs a blend of Euro 5 & 2? Can it drink B10 as well?

2) What could be the run rate of the annual maintenance after the 3-year free service? A ballpark figure would do

3) How's your daily drive with this thing? surely that torque should put a smile brows.gif

4) Is it worth waiting for the new gen althogether? Heard it will be launched sometime in August and prices will be hiked a few thousands more and OTR diesel would be at RM169k. Is this true?

Hi Guy,

Even with trip B, the display won't show the car temperature??

Mazda is expecting all owner to pop up the hood and check the coolant?? Or they are so confident that the car won't overheat. dry.gif

Never thought about asking this features as it will be quite standard to have it, just curious why Mazda does not include it.

Lots of new car also remove the round temp gauge rite..... only remain the trigger icon with colors....

Quote from others forums

Basically, there are 4 temperature indications.

1. BLUE temperature light means that your engine is below normal operating temperature,
2. NO temperature light means things are normal,
3. FLASHING RED temperature light means that engine is above operating temperature and you should pull over soon,
4. SOLID RED LIGHT means that you are overheated, and to pull over immediately.

I believe if u pop up the manual then should have the details too....

I did read the manual, again my question is out of curiously why Mazda just dint include that temperatures gauge reading. As mention by Chuah, now most of the car maker did not provide it anymore.
Maybe now everyone is expecting less (features/display) is better.
