Already decided to go for Honda HRV V spec, as its better to invest more money on house rather than car as it is not asset and depreciation is much much faster on car value.

Getting HRV at cost of 120k ( Highest spec ) with 1.8cc and its compact SUV is kinda cost effective and best buck. Not really focus on driving really fast or overtaking consistently but more on family car usage and comfortable level ( spacious as main objective )

You will regretted if go for HRV...... my sis HRV full of rattling sound for just 1 yr plus.... driving control no way meet CX5 ....A/C issue, can't cold back seat effectively at all!!!
More makan minyak then CX5 due to under power....add 10k more on house... emm nth much leh hehe

i find it weird ppl still taking RV as top priority consideration, are they changing cars every 5 years ?

HRV has shitty interior...underpowered

the only advantage of HRV over CX-5 is only the space...nothing else

I seldom drive it every day as I'm working in Singapore. So mostly is just like 1 hour city trip from my parents. My parents are fine with the seat after test drive. So I'm fine.

You have to see where I'm from, I'm from Proton Saga FL upgraded to HRV. So can you see the difference? Makan minyak, I think Saga is the worst. But anything that is better than Saga FL I'm welcome. I'm looking "housing investment" as top priority as I will be getting house in Singapore. laugh.gif laugh.gif

That's the huge advantage, space. And one more, " Cost ". No matter how good is the car, as long we do not have that budget to spend is just talking thrash. I can even say Lexus SUV is better than CX-5, laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif It's just whether I have the money to spend on it or not.

Having RM30k more compare between HR-V and CX-5 meant a lot. How long can we earn back RM30k? I rather put it as my downpayment for my new house.

You all will be surprised how many Honda HRV / Vezel are on the road in Singapore, a lot of people look it as cost effective car.

Emm not 30k lah!!!
CX5 2.0L HS should be ~20k or lesser after rebate but now having clearance promotion....was told min ~4k

Of cause can't compare Saga FL.....
~RM20k left ~SGP6k+ .... nth much for your house koh !!! tongue.gif

Again, up to your preference as here just for recommendation hehe!! I was from Toyota for pass 10 years and I had no regret move out from T* as really different driving experience.... I feel M* more like a Japan Continental Car.... hahahaah!!!!

I didn't say HRV bad just feel CX5 more worth it hehehe... to be honest no matter H or T.. if you sell less then 3 years all also kaput.... if u sell after 5-7 yrs then all car the same maybe T and H slightly better hehe!!

CX5 w/ free 3 years service + lubricant (if you are fine w/ semi and Shell) while H and T tak ada!!! Below just my assumption and might be wrong interval
- Minor ~250-300 while Major ~500-600
- Minor : 1k 5k 10k 20k 30k 50k = 250 x 6 = ~1.5k
- Major : 40k = ~500
- Total : ~2k++

Below price might not be exact but as reference only
HRV 1.8V : ~RM122k maybe w/ 2k rebate = ~RM120k
CX5 2.0L HS : ~RM142k maybe w/ 4k rebate = ~RM138k - ~2k service = ~RM136k
Delta : ~RM16k or ~SGP5k

Main different:
- Engine : CX5 2.0L Vs HRV 1.8L
- Size : CX5 bigger mainly much larger boot space
- Shape : CX5 better but depend on ppls heheh
- Interior : CX5 HS full leather
- FC : Skyactive definitely much better
- RV : HRV sure win for this but CX5 is the highest or most wanted SUV in market... as long as more owner mean more value
- Features : CX5 HS w/ Navi (depend on ppls some feel useless ahha), power seat, front and back safety sensor, reverse cam much clearer, A/C more powerful, centralize control (like BMW)

Again as long as you happy haha!! If buy but no happy then useless also!!! Enjoy your HRV smile.gif

Yup, at first I'm thinking of getting lower spec, but I think safety is very very important especially on Malaysia road. So it's worth to get 6 airbags for safety purpose is fine.

Just for your reference...

- Others : CX5 HS w/ adative Headlight, LED DRL, walk away auto lock while HRV w/ HDMI port but no Navi, HRV feel more plastic interior....
- Handling : CX5 defintely better
- Warranty : Both also 5 years now

At the end is it SGP5k more worth then above listed items, if yes then go for it else you may reconsider....
- If your concern is mainly cost then I would use CX5 Low Spec which same price as HRV but some of the feature still better then HRV.

If want extremely safety then go for Subaru Forester... now same price as HRV after huge rebate hehe!! However, sorry for RV and shape sikit xxxx but depend on ppls also.

My father prefers better resale value brand car, hence other brand he would suggest me not getting it. So.... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Though I'm not really going to change car within 10 years, but then my father as a former car mechanic, I think I will follow his advice.

all the features of CX-5, my parents are fine without it. So its just an extra things. Heck they even scare using push start button already. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

for the service wise, I think won't be out for RM2k so fast. As my Proton Saga FL the total distance is very very low after 7 years. Heck even car dealer does said my family seldom drives this car during these 7 years.

And road tax will be not cheap for 2.0cc car, and tyre change for 19inches laugh.gif laugh.gif

I sold my Altis in 1 year n loss 12-15k... just to let you know heehheeh .... H n T quality degrade so much now....my old Vios tahan 9 years not much rattling sound heheh

HRV RV
http://www.mudah.my/Honda+HR+V+1+8+A+PushS...15-53700891.htm
- 3 years drop ~35k = ~12k per year

CX5 RV
http://www.mudah.my/2014+Mazda+CX+5+2+0+A+...0809.htm?last=1
- 4 years drop ~50k = ~12k per year

If you plan to sell your car every 3 years then ok go for H n T but if 5-7 yrs then not much diff for RV.... again get CX5 most wanted SUV hehe.. amost every 5-10 mins 1 CX5 will passed by heeheh...

Well.. This one I can show to my father, but I doubt he will believe that, as most of the car dealer I met last month - Mazda Nissan Honda Toyota, all agreed that Honda and Toyota resale value are better. Even Mazda dealer agreed on that. So, let you think of it. Hehe. Have been searching for my next car for almost a month. Test drive like at least 7 cars. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Its very easy to find the real second hand price after chatting with car resale dealer, as they are the one who sold the car. Those website, it is possible that the price has been hike up by the seller, but end up still trying to sell it.

No doubt yes T and H sure better...
You try ask N also die 1 haaah!!

Most of M RV really bad but CX5 much better coz more demand... try move forward and dont keep on buy car and wait for resale but instead we should go for safety, comfort, handling, features.....again if RV always in you mind then better go to H and T else every nite you will be having nightmare and dream... gai liao loh.... my car no value now heheheeh

Don't compare durability w/ P hahaha.. for P maybe every 3 years u wanna change hehehe

I would say CX5 RV at the middle, it still better then Korean and Continental SUV but of cause lower then H and T.....
H and T sure win on spare parts price due to most demand car mean more owner......

That's only my father requirement to get car with better resale value. For me, as long the car with good value and won't impact my savings for my house. Its sufficient. Who knows I might be getting singapore car once my wife got birth. smile.gif That will be another cost, by that time. Even Proton car I might need to consider haha

All car will make lost 30% of the original car price once we collected the key, this calculation is provided by one of the resale car dealer. Due to the model keeps changing. Hence the depreciation is high. Until only the 5th year or later, the depreciation value gap will be reduced, hence first 5 years selling car, in conclusion is = Rugi.

No matter how good is the car, car depreciation will surely be a downfall no matter what. Hence house is more on the better investment rather than throwing money on car.
