Wait till they actually want to show me some kind of convincing functions that improve quality of life.

A little fast startup, revamped UI isn't convincing.

agree. nothing major. just add back start menu and remove media centre are not new reason for me to buy new license again. unless something major like win 7 to win 8.

btw i totally have no problems with win8.1, it takes me a only a few days to get use. only lazy people have transition from win 7 to win 8

No. It won't run for two reasons.

1) WP8 is a ARM device and doesn't use x86/x64 compatible CPU, so it can't understand the normal .EXE file. (WP8 App file comes with extension .APPX)

2) Unless your phone is connected to a Live account that has active developer license (hence unlocked), it won't run applications that's not signed with Microsoft's special e-cert.

What I am more concern is will all 8.1 user get free upgrade or not.

I got 2 copies of win 8.1 pro, with another standard win 8.1 coming. I am going to be piss if upgrade need to pay.

giving away free stuff just so un-Microsoft

and nobody forces you to upgrade

well, at least not until they make Windows 8.1 obsolete few years later

although in those years of using it you should be able to fork new money to afford new version of Windows

now that's Microsoft
