Yes if they solve their push notification issue. I used Lumia800 last year and really like it. But the delayed push notifications really annoys me

Probably no more. I have switched from WP to Android...while I love WP's interface, Android's (and iOS)'s app range really makes a huge differences. And the current state of WP8 isn't very encouraging as well

nope, unless my 820 dies. If it does then I will replace it with a cheapo low end lumia phone. but with Xiaomi and other vendors(OPO, Meizu, and etc) selling phones that are seriously cheap considering their worth, I doubt that I will go for any high end lumia phones considering their usability and worth.

Yes. Even though I honestly think Android and iOS are better for now, I have been a Microsoft fan for a while and I hope to see them make a comeback with another high end device

Yes, previously used htc Mozart win 7.8. Love it. Now I'm using win 8.1 Lumia 530. Need to buy after all because windows phone 7 cannot be upgraded to wp8.
I was android user before turn to wp. I never look back to android since then. Will buy new phone only if this 530 broken. 😉 |

Almost bought a lumia for my mom earlier this year due to the affordability. But luckily moto G came up to the rescue so we bought her that one instead. Then it's time for dad to own a smartphone so we bought the Redmi 1s when it came out.
I'm just waiting for the right circumstances to push me to try and buy wp. |

Yes. I just bought a new 830. One thing I like is that you can install apps on Micro SD card. So you can save space in the phone. I am not aware that Android can do that without rooting and installing third party app.

temporary will not buy Windows phone . Been a user for Nokia Lumia 800 and Samsung ATIV S
It not because windows phone not good, its all because the usable application is really little or not available. Even available, its all very old and not update version. Microsoft should give it a hits on this. In the smartphone era, it not because how fluid your OS , its about the usable apps. |

QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Nov 4 2014, 09:37 PM) I use to be IOS user actually. I can't actually tell you the comparisons with android as i have not used it long enough to be a good judge. In the beginning i did find it difficult to switch. But after awhile i fell in love. Things i like: - UI - Camera (lowlight capabilities are awesome) - design - You don't need major high end specs for your device to run smoothly - honestly the third party apps can be more awesome than the original ones - Live tiles - and a lot of smaller details It really depends what you look for in a phone though |

I will put two calender widgets on 2 screens. Each widgets takes one full phone page. Why two? Coz one is viewing in month. Another for tasks viewing. In task widgets, I can still scroll down to see all the tasks which cannot be displayed in one full screen. I guess window tile cannot do scrolling within the tile? |

Magnet Sensors also not deal breaker for me which I don't use flip magnet cover. What was the price of Lumia 530? Recently I read a news of new Microsoft Branded Lumia 535 coming to Malaysia shore too. The Lumia 535 is the successors of Lumia 530. If Lumia 535 is coming to here, then better for you to wait for it |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Nov 12 2014, 05:25 PM) I think you missed out the Nokia HERE offline navigation have arrived for Android. Hi NightFelix! We are in the same boat here!Meanwhile, anyone got any recommendation for Entry-level Lumia device? Wanna try WP8.1 I have been thinking buying a WP as my 2nd phone. My target should be Lumia 630 (RM399 at satugadjet/directd). Lumia 630 has superior specs than 530 (RM299). If I am satisfied with WP, then later maybe I'll be upgrading to Lumia 1020 or 930 or 1520. Still thinking.... and got a lot of questions to be asked to WP oldtimer forumer here.. AND,,, About HERE Maps on Android, that shouldn't be a big problem. Even without HERE Maps, I use Sygic (Cracked) for offline navigation and it never fails me. This post has been edited by Babet: Nov 17 2014, 05:51 AM |

Nokia Lumia 735 - RM899 (Mid-Ranger) Nokia Lumia 530 DualSIM - RM299 (Low-Entry) Nokia Lumia 930 - RM1659 (Flagship) Nokia Lumia 630 DualSIM - RM399 (Low-Entry) Nokia Lumia 1520 - RM1599 (Phablet Flagship) I think only Lumia 735 is the cheapest Lumia that have PureView camera to experience. But the phone lagg like crap still acceptable then?It not because windows phone not good, its all because the usable application is really little or not available. Even available, its all very old and not update version. Microsoft should give it a hits on this. In the smartphone era, it not because how fluid your OS , its about the usable apps. |

I think i would come back to wp. It got the best camera experience around. (Used to own lumia 920 until it was lost). Tested the lumia camera app on my sis 1520, just awesome! 2ndly, i wanna get back the apps & games that I've purchased before.
Currently im using moto g and in the future i can see myself using wp9/10 and android lollipop. |

Well.. time will tell, Microsoft have plenty of money... so Windows Phone OS won't die anytime soon. I stick with big monopoly player at the moment. iOS/Android are my primary choice then only come to WP OS. I also impress by the battery life of WP.

Maybe I need to elaborate a bit on whatsapp notification. By 'always' I mean every time there's a latest update the app work fine for a while but the problem happen again some time and until now it still happen once in a while. Maybe because you are on group the app activates most of the time so the process always remain in background. Aside from notification issue that I experienced with Whatsapp, the fact remain that major apps experience still lacking behind and in my case the priority is on Facebook. To make it worse, with release of WP8.1 the very smooth and fast experience that has been major selling point for WP in the past are now no longer the case here. Yes, they are still smooth but from my experience comparing side by side quad core snapdragon 800 Lumia 1520 to dual core s4 pro Moto X, I don't find 1520 to be much smoother and faster despite rocking much superior hardware inside. |

QUOTE(z4520ft @ Dec 10 2014, 02:39 PM) Battery saver set to trigger at 20% and no fancy stuff running in background. Maybe I need to elaborate a bit on whatsapp notification. By 'always' I mean every time there's a latest update the app work fine for a while but the problem happen again some time and until now it still happen once in a while. Maybe because you are on group the app activates most of the time so the process always remain in background. In my wife case, she's mostly on WeChat and sometimes (still, few times in a day) on whatsapp. btw..regards of the whatsapp notification... i mute almost all the group...but when the group i didnt mute it still getting delivered on the dot.....troll? Don't get me wrong. I have owned/used/tested several WP devices, ranging from WP7 Mozart to Wp8.1 Cyan 1520 in these past 2 years. I got my Nokia 1020 on November 17 2014, second hand and I have got to say. This is the best phone ever!
Forget the gaming apps because I already have an iPad and there is no point gaming on a phone (I don't like the small screen gaming idea), I would definitely buy the next gen of Lumia 1020. 1) The camera is good without a doubt 41mp, it has a good editor if you think its oversaturated and with the upcoming update hopefully it has more features. 2) I admire the GPS app which has free offline map, voice navigation and a reroute function. The GPS stands out from the rest compared to iOS and Android since you need data or is very tedious (even until now I can't find any offline GPS free like this) to set up. 3) No lag, the last time I used a Samsung it was terrible and laggy. 4) Nice looks, pure yellow, great material (whatever it was they used which doesn't feel like plastic) 5) It makes me feel unique since I am surrounded by my classmates or basically everyone who is using Samsung or either Apple phones. Oh not to mention that I am playing with this phone as if I just got it yesterday! This post has been edited by Bdon: Dec 10 2014, 03:18 PM |

FYI Here Maps is now available on android and it comes with navigation as well. If I'm not mistaken (last I checked is 2 weeks ago), you need both Here Maps and Here Drive for navigation but on android the navigation is built in Here Maps. So yeah, there lose 1 advantage WP has over android. |

Android nowadays murah and powerful. I won't consider any of WP as my primary smartphone anymore (unless 1020 proved to be better). Possibly secondary phone itu pun untuk HERE Maps onli..

If I am about to choose between 930 (RM1800) and Xiaomi Mi3 (RM800), I would pick Mi3 all the way. I will always consider the price as my top priority. Perhaps I'll consider HTC's BoomSound smartphone as well (I like its stereo speakers!)if compare lumia 535 vs lumia 930...the performance almost the same... by the way, everyone have the choice to buy what phone they want...just choose the you prefer from budget, spec, design... So I can't give much comments about the Pros/Cons for Lumia camera, but Flagships Lumia camera are no doubt are pretty good on shooting when comes to review. So for the price of L930 Flagships devices RM1800. I assume your new smartphone budget are from RM800-RM1800 flexibility. You can try to test these Android devices out before you make decisions. 1) Xiaomi Mi 4 64GB 2) OnePlus One 64GB 3) LG G3 64GB 4) Samsung Galaxy Note 4 5) HTC E8 6) Sony Xperia Z1 Compact / Xperia Z2 PS. Should wait for CES 2015 for more Lumia unveiling. |

if microsoft does not fix the touch screen for 535, then NO. It's not the first time I have faced touch screen issue on a WP phone. After two years they still produce phones with a touch screen that don't work.
In fact it's even worse now where even single point touch don't work well. |

Sometimes the touch don't get registered. At other times, it just registers multiple taps, even if you did not lift your finger off your screen. This is especially bad if you touch the lower part of the screen. Multi touch is just plain broken lol. It registers the touch all over the place. |

Similar to their service center in melaka. Merged with both huawei and xiaomi. These centers are quick as in you are very likely to get back your phone within 3 working days.

Yes, will definitely buy - I particularly like the Nokia offline Maps.
Not sure if this function (offline map) is available for other phones as well, though. Only regret from my side - not enough accessories! Really hard to get gel grip/silicone case/screen protectors etc. |

Also on their YouTube channel HERE Maps have promoting their stuff on Android as well. Not sure if this function (offline map) is available for other phones as well, though. Only regret from my side - not enough accessories! Really hard to get gel grip/silicone case/screen protectors etc. Also, buy WP, never buy less than 1GB RAM. |

The other way to look at it is that Microsoft is able to control their leaks/news efficiently. See how the new cheap Lumia 532 and 435 were leaked just few days before their official release. I heard something about new Lumias to unveiled in March during the Mobile World Congress. Let's hope for the best.

I am using Lumia 735 for a few weeks now and for me it is a good experience. In terms of performance, it should be comparable experience to Lumia 830 since the processor and ram are the same.

Hey guys, what's up? My 1020's warranty has expired, and I've been thinking on getting a new Lumia.. either 930 or 1520, and we obviously don't know when 1030 will come out (IF it does anyway).
So, which is a better deal? The 1520's larger screen (but not amoled as 930), larger batt, and microSD slot... or 930's higher ppi, corning gg3, smaller size (easier one-hand operation)? And do they both have Glance screen as per 1020? Thanks. This post has been edited by futra: Jan 28 2015, 12:26 PM |

I would wait until Mobile World Congress in March. But if you can't wait why not get a stopgap device like Lumia 830? Then later you can upgrade to whatever the latest model available in the market.

for those who migrate from android and ios might consider second windows phone.
but for those whose first smartphone was windows phone might not consider buying windows phone again as they might tend to trying out other OS. |

USB port is healthy. OS healthy. sharing internet via bluetooth wifiu?tethering is a different technology but I did test out internet sharing (phone hotspot) which works as expected on my laptop which is on windows 8.1 if you wanna say my phone/usb cable/pc/OS/firmware got prob, i do IT at my workplace so i do have access to many various devices/PCs. when internet goes down, i do help my colleagues tether their phones to their PCs if really needed to and what i found was ANDROID phones can tether to windows 8.1 pcs with no issue. but when I wanna do the same? FAIL my windows phone cant do that, how embarrassing is it to be an IT guy using a high end windows phone but cant even do tethering when your colleagues phone which cost 1/3 or 1/2 of my phone can do something mine cant? you can try googling "tethering windows phone", you will find no real results where you can see people asking on how to tether but people respond ignorantly by teaching them to use internet sharing (hotspot/wifi/bluetooth). you can even find some people even suggesting that this feature be added in on windows phones. retarded level max. windows phone OS? no thanks. |

The old Nokia phones and Symbian have this feature of sharing internet connection through USB. But is it more convenient to use the Internet sharing function without any cables at all? It is still called tethering whether with or without a cable.
For wired connection or USB tethering, You need to share Internet to an android device & connect that android device to your PC. As of now, Windows Phone 8 or 8.1 doesn't support USB sharing. I can see the need for a USB tethering if the PC does not have a wifi card though. Hopefully future Windows 10 for mobile will support this feature and it will be few weeks away before Microsoft unleashes the preview. Like wise the problem you are facing is just a minimal function, it might be very critical to you because it actually made you lose face I guess? lol, anyway most big companies has at least 2 ISP for Business & Routine management. On WP we can connect with VPN/Workplace Account app for company unlike the other OS which have to rely on 3rd party app, but I would say not many company out there has implemented a full working eco system with Windows Phone yet. ps: you can do something like taking low light/ultra clear picture/4k video with your phone that any low end android cant do to gain back your face |

On WP we can connect with VPN/Workplace Account app for company unlike the other OS which have to rely on 3rd party app, but I would say not many company out there has implemented a full working eco system with Windows Phone yet. ps: you can do something like taking low light/ultra clear picture/4k video with your phone that any low end android cant do to gain back your face losing face is a small matter at work. but as i mentioned, it can be freaking frustrating when my wifi dongle at home has problems and i cant even tether. either way windows phone OS really is bullshit to me if they cant provide this "minimal function" in regards to pictures, i bought my 1020 for pictures alone without researching any other functions as i put my faith to windows phone expecting it to be good. silly me QUOTE(evilpuppy @ Feb 10 2015, 07:20 PM) @exsea, well, as an IT guy you can always carry a small usb wifi adapter <- wifi sharing -> windows phone = problem solved nah, too nerdy |

Currently the most I like is Cortana and its feature like turning off to night mode
I also like the separation of installed application page and the shortcuts to run the application page This post has been edited by VeeJay: Apr 14 2015, 10:57 AM |

QUOTE(censett123 @ May 13 2015, 12:30 AM) i plan to switch to lumia 640 from redmi note, but after all the survey done in reviews by windows store users and windows central forum, seems like the apps in WP really poor quality. is that true? example: whatsapp, Line and even facebook. i really like the smoothness of WP and the long battery life, but quality apps concerns me a lot. dont wish for a delay message received in whatsapp or a long loading time for FB etc. advise please Quite on par actually. Delay messages is non-existence for Whatsapp/FB Messenger. So far using Lumia 1520 from Galaxy Nexus didn't bother me much.If you're mobile gamer, then stay away from WP. Battery life over awesomeness. No longer fiddling and managing the phone for battery life. Turned on every damn thing including GPS and still manged over 2 days |

Previous smartphones owned - Sony Ericsson P910i, BB Touch 2, Nokia C5, iPhone 4, Samsung Note 8.0, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 Plus
Bought Lumia 735 as second phone and really impressed with the slickness and the display quality. Tested cheaper Lumia models but found that the response are slower. Can't wait for Windows 10 for Mobile to roll out. Yes definitely will buy again, may be next time is for iPhone replacement. This post has been edited by BlackBananaV6: Sep 30 2015, 08:58 AM |

Regarding Apps ?Well, so far only whatsapp can't be install to external memory in my case but i found out some apps like wechat works much faster when install internally rather than external. My own 532 with the internal 8GB i have more than 3gb free. Except the ealer versions, all windows phone now have options to add external memory right ? |

Yes, even though it is no way matching with fruit and robot phone, but it is comfortable and easy to use. Moreover, it hardly crash!
there is a bright future with win10, and my work tie greatly with windows, and with wp, my work can be sync across both platform easily, wish I also got myself a surface pro |

My 2nd windows phone (Nokia Lumia 925) is nearing its end already. Having been on the windows phone ship since it started (i bought HTC trophy as my first and primary smartphone, one of the debut WP hardware), now I'm legit considering jumping ship to Android.
Main reasons include: 1) Both of my WP got outdated pretty quickly due to major software changes i.e. Trophy cannot update to wp8, 925 cannot update to wp10 2) WP10 UI is a step back for me. I like the idea of wp10, but the app UI on the phone is too similar to android/ios. Lost what i like about wp originally 3) Android not as bad as last time, smooth and lightweight versions available now. 4) No exclusive features on WP. Android phones manage microsoft services pretty well now, but vice versa is non-existent. Google pulled all services from WP including Waze. I need google services for my work too (Google hangout etc). Microsoft also cut my free onedrive storage, so I can't keep my music there and stream it anymore Anyone has similar or opposing ideas? I would like to hear This post has been edited by Zeuss1220: Jul 18 2016, 11:05 AM |

Current phone and previous phone are Windows phone.
The lack of apps is starting to make me to reconsider staying on with Windows phones. I can't even download the Grab app, apps like Watsapp trail behind the Android versions in terms of feature updates, Waze is shit on Win phones compared to Android, what little apps there are hv been neglected & some hv refused to run (ie Tesco app). It seems after Microsoft tapau Lumia from Nokia, they had left it to rot. |

QUOTE(ZZR-Pilot @ Dec 4 2016, 09:32 PM) Current phone and previous phone are Windows phone. Exactly the same thoughts as I have. Although essential apps are there such as Whatsapp, FB, Insta but there are some which are not supported at all, and it seems that they might never make it on the Windows store. With limitations on certain apps, it's getting harder and harder to catch up, sometimes it becomes an inconvenience. The lack of apps is starting to make me to reconsider staying on with Windows phones. I think that's pretty much the only thing I look forward to |

i ALSO own Samsung S7 Edge and Iphone 6. I love my Lumia 925. I am very honest about my opinion. It gives me the best and seamless Microsoft Office cloud based mobile office experience so far. The best. However not many people out there are able to appreciate it. |

We need new hardware, yet I'm satisfied with the regular OS updates to W10M. I used Android time to time and OS updates are rarely received, even the promised monthly security updates.

Hope the Windows Cshell will close the app gap. More apps will be written for Windows that you can use with your phone and then expand to big screen through Continuum. With laptop ban, Windows phones will win in the long run.

They gonna resurrect it as Surface Phone instead of Window Phone. Window Phone is dead.
I believe they gonna marketing the Surface Phone as Pocket PC + Phone capable, since now Windows 10S can run on ARM SoC. Well, I have high hope they gonna reboot it as a new product! |

After using Lumia 720, I got a Lumia 830. I thought I could use it till the end of the year, but all updates & support for it had ended in the beginning of the year... and so when I saw the reigning flagship 950XL being sold at half price just a year after being launched, I grabbed it.
I love the tile system. So much better than the mess of icons that android & ios give you. That is the major reason I'm still with Windows for so many years. But alas... there is absolutely fuck-all in the horizon for WinPhone. It really does seem that Microsoft wants us to piss off to Android. So when my 950XL dies end of next year (never count on smatphones to hv a service life >2 years... either the hardware dies or they obsolete the phone thru new OS upgrades that require new hardware), I may be forced to switch to something else... |

I has been using his freak phone almost 2 years, MS ware to strict with their apps policy.. That why no much apps are available and Windows Store are annoying, it hide comment / feedback.. I also purchase some apps before to support the dev. I only found Rudy Hyun do his best with WP apps. After my battery broke, i switched to android again and happy ever after...

Sick of my Lumia 930 already. Got it at launch, now full charge can barely last half a day. Not to mention the app gap is still bad, if not worse. I'll be changing platforms very soon, and will never look back.
It's a shame. I really love the UI, and I thought with Win10M this platform will keep growing. But it's dead now. |

Always wonder why one would prefer Windows OS phone while the apps are so limited.
Some people I know got it because they want to feel special having it cause very few people has it, then within a year to change to either iPhone or Android lol Then they said because they couldn't stand the boringness. I guess the phone is more suitable for elder career man who focuses on emails and working related apps. As for teen or young adults not so :/ |

Unless windows drastically change and inovate something unique yet commercially viable for most users, we won't see them sooner.

I like WP. They are lighter on the resources. But not enough apps.

QUOTE(ZZR-Pilot @ Jul 5 2017, 06:49 PM) After using Lumia 720, I got a Lumia 830. I thought I could use it till the end of the year, but all updates & support for it had ended in the beginning of the year... and so when I saw the reigning flagship 950XL being sold at half price just a year after being launched, I grabbed it. Right on schedule, my 950XL's battery is dying and requires increasingly frequent charging. I went to Lowyat yesterday to look for a replacement battery, and those guys were staring at me like I was carrying some archaeological artifact.I love the tile system. Windows rolled out an update last month, I think. But the apps are seldom updating. For example, only Whatsapp updated yesterday in the past few weeks or so, and even then new features such as stickers are still missing. Nothing else is updating. It's truly the end of the road. Facebook crashes during launch half the time. I don't run games anymore due to the weak battery. The phone overheats at the slightest provocation, the screen would freeze without reason every now and then. I hv stopped using a screen protector for a year now, and the screen has survived the abuse I threw at it without a scratch. I'll be away in Thailand for the next two weeks, when I come back I'm getting a Huawei Mate 20 and finally make the inevitable cross over to Android. I hv held on for as long as I could, now it's time to take my 950XL on our final vacation together before I retire it into my drawer of dead Lumia phones... |
