not going to buy and not going to recommend too currently. most people nowadays need at least whatsapp and facebook, until MS get this right it'll be hard to live with WP unless you are not heavy user.

sorry bro, i use android 4.4.4 on moto x (1st gen) while my wife and father use WP8.1 on L925 stock and L920 dev unlock respectively.

whatsapp always delay notification...and i mean it, always.

facebook slow update feature wise. no stickers yet, no option to approve tag/timeline review within app, some page just doesn't show content etc2.
most of the time my wife just use mobile fb on browser since it's more reliable than the official app.

yes, I do make sure the apps on their phone receive latest update whenever available. after all, I'm the one encourage them to try WP and I do keep track of WP progress despite leaving the platform personally few months ago.

she turns on battery saver all the time???
i think since last few whatsapp upgrade already no more notification delay...in fact when hanging out with friends who mostly on androids, group/personal chat notification comes on my phone first then only them....  rolleyes.gif

perhaps the custom lockscreen apps or similiar stuff making it slow??

Battery saver set to trigger at 20% and no fancy stuff running in background. Maybe I need to elaborate a bit on whatsapp notification. By 'always' I mean every time there's a latest update the app work fine for a while but the problem happen again some time and until now it still happen once in a while. Maybe because you are on group the app activates most of the time so the process always remain in background. In my wife case, she's mostly on WeChat and sometimes (still, few times in a day) on whatsapp.

another troll...why so many farkers like to troll WP...

if don't like, don't use lo...no one force you to buy WP....

troll?

Don't get me wrong.

I have owned/used/tested several WP devices, ranging from WP7 Mozart to Wp8.1 Cyan 1520 in these past 2 years. whistling.gif

If I don't like WP I won't use it past my first L800 but then I did upgraded several times and recommended it to my friends and family. Aside from notification issue that I experienced with Whatsapp, the fact remain that major apps experience still lacking behind and in my case the priority is on Facebook.
To make it worse, with release of WP8.1 the very smooth and fast experience that has been major selling point for WP in the past are now no longer the case here. Yes, they are still smooth but from my experience comparing side by side quad core snapdragon 800 Lumia 1520 to dual core s4 pro Moto X, I don't find 1520 to be much smoother and faster despite rocking much superior hardware inside.

btw..regards of the whatsapp notification... i mute almost all the group...but when the group i didnt mute it still getting delivered on the dot.....

wechat now quite stable and fast...before the latest update..it was sluggish....now quite stable....
just awaiting telegram to recieve similar major updates on usability and many missing function....
as for fb...i prefer the old wp7.8 style which fully integrated with the os itself...and i have no problem to tag everyone/anyone in my friendlist during picture upload....now with fb app, most of the time when i want to tag certain people, it doesnt show up in tag list while they was in my friendlist (long time friend and some newly added)... so most of the time i just browse fb using mobile site via uc browser....with now photo attach and mention function...so not really a big problem because rarely using fb app....

same here, I still prefer the experience on wp7.8 and 8 since most of the features are built in so most of the time it's a trade off between lacking features and responsiveness; I choose responsiveness every time and can forgive the lack of features.

2) I admire the GPS app which has free offline map, voice navigation and a reroute function. The GPS stands out from the rest compared to iOS and Android since you need data or is very tedious (even until now I can't find any offline GPS free like this) to set up.

FYI Here Maps is now available on android and it comes with navigation as well. If I'm not mistaken (last I checked is 2 weeks ago), you need both Here Maps and Here Drive for navigation but on android the navigation is built in Here Maps. So yeah, there lose 1 advantage WP has over android.  whistling.gif

quite weird that lumia 930 price still maintain at rm1699 for quite some time...

last time lumia 920 drop from rm1999 to 1799 then 1599, 1299 and stock clearance for rm999

i'm sure will buy lumia phone again...not sure why, the quality of lumia phone is better compare to other same range phone...
*
because it's the only Lumia flagship available aside from the huuuuge 1520. besides 930 has comparable internal to flagship android phone while back with 920 the specs only comparable to mid range phone that cost about Rm1k-1.2k.
