Who is MU academy product? Not Rio right? He's from Leeds if I'm not mistaken. Then again, let's see when we play them next month. This coming weekend City, then next weekend Villa, following that Arsenal...great test for us.

So jelly with MU attacking forces.

Di Maria have a god gifted left foot. Herrera and Blind also very commanding in midfield.

They make QPR look like a 3rd division team.

Imo, it was hazard-fabregas-costa having good link up.
Hazard involved in three goal in last game.

we are more solid when ramires come in for Schurrle.

The link are indeed good but they hardly assist.i want they to assist.i really afraid fab become hazard last season where we need hazard involvement in order to score goals.i want to see without fab we still capable of feed pass to costa.last saturday game 2 assist from fab 1 from remi and one from oscar which is good

lol. MU's 12th man on the field, at the heart of QPR def.

honestly MU vs QPR last night not much to say lah. with MU quality now, dont need LvG should be still can win against QPR. and QPR lost Remy also so didnt even try MU's def. i think their D is still probably quite shaky.

as for us, our def line didnt changed, and wasnt Courtois fault that we are leaking goals. I think its more of a DMC problem, since we are more towards pushing the attack. more of a 4-1-4-1 than a 4-2-3-1.
lets see how we do against Schalke first this coming Thursday.

Don't forget Salah... he seems so refrain to go forward... maybe it's Mou's advice for him to keep the ball.... but when he dribbles... OMG... he's like a rocket... from the middle dribbles until the penalty box.... he should have finish his own moves... but instead pass and lost the ball... I like to see more of Mohammad Salah's speedy display... I think Terry lacks concentration.... same goes for Cahill... always seems to mark the wrong person.... but Ivanovic is playing more attacking role these days... maybe to keep his place as the starting RB... have to show more attacking flare... but he leave a big gap all the time... lucky that Nathan Dyer didn't attack from the left... if not, it'll cause a lot of trouble...

Well. A lot of ppl talking bout how gud is Costa and Fab. But tbh, Hazard is damn gooding too yday, just no goals and assist. But he was involve in all 4 goals iinm. His burst of pace always force opposition to have 2 defender stuck to him. Just look at Remy's goal. Hazard having the ball on the right, with 2 defenders on him, and another closing in. Then he pass to OScar who assisted Remy for the goal. Hazard's role is a bit diff now with Fab. He can distract the opposition defenders with his runs and skills. And when opposition mark Fab, we can always rely on Hazard. brows.gif

last game didn't see that much from him. Most of the time he decided against dribbling and just play short pass. But few time he make runs for diagonal ball, but no one see. Oscar and Fab need to keep him in mind.

And when opposition mark Fab, we can always rely on Hazard. brows.gif

Its easy to get impressed by new signing and overlooked the ever reliable players. Game against Everton Matic was solid rock yet Costa's brace outshone his performance

Costa and Fab is just to make us more clinical. The trident is equally as important, so it the pivot player Matic. flex.gif

I think just 3 of the goals.
yup hazard very gooding in last games not just involved in the goal but also the one who help opening the defense.
he always draw the defender towards him.
However we seem look expose conceding some goals easily.
last seasons backline are darn solid but these season not sure what happened to them. Mindgames? Change of tactics? Change of player role? hmm.gif

Well. Maybe it's Fab. He is not known for being a good tracker or defender. Him playing in pivot maybe have some cons.

Last season with Ram and Matic in pivot, v seldom concede goals. hmm.gif Seems like 433 is more suit to us now? With Ram, Matic and Fab in midfield, Ram can cover for Fab's attacking and link up play. hmm.gif

we need ram.. schürrle look more like super-sub where he germany play that kinda tactic.. william should start. remy look like he got some limp that day.. he's not fully fit & with the stupid old injury deep shit..

mou promised schürrle will be starting 11 but if he didn't perform then mou will sub him.. wrong move! let c how fab perform when playing v better team like MC!

when fab out of gas, ram & matic can come in deep or just forward but fab really need to track back more often.. now i'm thinking terry should step down asap.. zouma should step up. i still feel cahil didn't defend set pieces well eventhou he look stable but not really a top def..

man marking still got room for improvement.. terry too concern bout the offside trap lining yet he got experience but very often fail to pressure pacey attacker...

cesar azpilicueta another disaster.. can't even guard nathan dyer.. filipe luis better than the amigo..

dun say lidaat la. torres contribution for the team already more than enough imo.

goal vs barca in semi UCL 11/12. corner vs bayern in final UCL 11/12 also from him.

UEL final also got score. not to mention the number of shirts with his NNs sold to fans.

he might be lacking in goal scoring department but his contribution to the team still ok.

He have injury at that time.
I think the way the club speak to him might have offended him.

"Di Maria's anger towards his old club – which included the claim they urged him not to play in the World Cup final"

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/footbal...or-9716648.html

unfortunately I cant find back the article with interview on the issues.

An interesting analysis on fabregas.

I think it going to take a while for fabregas to learn how to play more efficiently at pivot.

do we really need Pogba? I think for the moment with Rami and Mikel as backup we are gooding.... if Pogba comes, someone will have to give way... interesting to see how much is Hazard's new deal gonna worth... am sure he will demand higher wages... Real is keen to grab him coming transfer... maybe as early as January... but the problem with Real Madrid now is not offense... it's their defense that is lacking... Ramos is poor this few games.... they should buy defensive players... not attacking players.... doh.gif

Real is keen to grab him coming transfer... maybe as early as January... but the problem with Real Madrid now is not offense... it's their defense that is lacking... Ramos is poor this few games.... they should buy defensive players... not attacking players....  doh.gif

i might point out some PL teams has this philosophy of the BEST defend is to attack more tongue.gif

Mainly due to homegrown and depth
and juventus relax je having vidal and pogba.
I love when we have luiz and matic combo last seasons.

Pogba = matic. Dont think we need him atm. Maybe need another proven cb. Zouma still too raw.

We are having a rather very offensive squad.
having a solid backlines especially filling up homegrown squad is important.

I have said it before.
though we have a rather balance sqaud in term of defensive department, attacking department and pivot department but we have a rather imbalance homegrown vs international vs england contingent.
We are having trouble fine tuning that.
not to forget we still have quite a few top class prospects which is not considered as hg such as atsu, piazon, zouma, mvg and so on.

An interesting analysis on fabregas.

I think it going to take a while for fabregas to learn how to play more efficiently at pivot.
*
a very gud watch. Cesc no doubt is gud in attacking and playing passes or 1-2 pass. But his positional awareness is not that great. Which is why he always didn't get to play in the 'Xavi' role in Barca and resulting Barca to push him to a more forward position. I read from the comment. Barca actually sacrifice a bit to adapt to Cesc's style, but in the end to no avail. They even push Iniesta to the wide side and let Cesc play the creator role. But in the end maybe they feel it's not worth it to sacrifice the team's style compared to Cesc's lack of positional awareness.

He always look to go forward, leaving too much space for Matic to cover.

So i think against big team like City, Mou might revert to 433. Ram, Matic and Cesc in midfield. Ram to cover for Cesc's forward play. hmm.gif

If Mou is playing Ram, Matic and Cesc as a midfield trio, it really make us wonder, why not go for Pogba. With Pogba, MAtic and Cesc playing in 433, it is unstoppable! flex.gif

Mainly barca dun have the right player to cover the defense.
We can put ramires or willian to provide cover.
or perhaps oscar move to the pivots and fabregas move to the trident.
Having matic-cesc-pogba would gives us the strongest fortress.

Rather nice problem for us to have. He can exchange position with oscar....i love his intricate pass between oscar, hazard at the pocket area edge of opposition box...how many times edi we slice oppo defence with his witts and vision from that area...its like we gain additional attacking setplay from barca tiki taka style a bit...

i think oscar is better than cesc playing the pivot role coz oscar is better in tackling , work rate and closing down compared to cesc.

but cesc vision and through pass is simply masterclass.

maybe next time we will play Oscar on pivot, but they are free to exchange position with Fab depending on situation..

hazard ----- fab------ wilian
-------oscar-----matic----

aside from matic, the rest of them could have exchange position with each other during game.. icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif .. this kind of play is tricky to defend.. icon_rolleyes.gif

instead of splashing cash for Pogba (by all means he's a great player), we should just utilize Rami in that pivot. He's been brilliant this season a reminiscence of former himself couple of seasons back.

the number 10 position should be Fabregas, no brainer. Oscar is good but in terms of creativity and passing ability hands down for Fabregas.

pogba is almost impossible to get atm

I like the idea of using Ramires in the pivot now, considering he now improve his first touch and release the ball quickly.

yes, fabregas should be no 10, but he also can be CM in the 3 system midfielder.

the most likely reinforcement that we can get in either january or free for next summer will be Khedira.

Let just put it in the way that what Mou wants mostly likely we will get it, except some players are bound to the club as due to life long fan, like SGerrard and WRooney.

Mou always like to have a compact team, and utilize what the club dy have.

Well. January is gonna be a weird transfer window for us. If Nigeria qualify for ACN, then Mikel will be on leave. Matic, Ram and Fab to play in PL, CL, FA Cup is not enuff imho. Maybe we'll sell Cech and recall MVG to play in pivot. hmm.gif

If Cech don't get any game time, I'm sure he'll have ideas to leave on January.

To sell Cech...right after he won the golden glove last year is rclxub.gif I'm sure Mou will rotate T-bo & Cech depending on competition. UCL and FA cup for cech, and BPL is for T-bo. He is still gooding . Keeper lagi tua lagi power tgk Buffon, Kahn, Schmeichel, Van der Sar. notworthy.gif

“Every game is good for Petr to play,” Mourinho said. “Don’t be surprised if he plays a Champions League game or a Premier League game, or if Courtois plays a Capital One Cup game.
“What I don’t do is say: ‘He will play in this competition and he will play in this one.’ I must make choices and I must try and make the right choices. Petr is more than ready to play every game. It doesn’t matter the size of the game and he will play a lot for sure. We are fine and strong.” - Jose Mourinho

who knows, he might start tonight against Schalke. I think Cech will stay for the time being. if not this January transfer window, then next season transfer window he will leave. Maybe on loan.

Ron Gourlay, Chelsea Chief executive wants Jose Mourinho to stay for 10 years to manage Chelsea.

Chelsea-Schalke referees lose passports; backups called in

According to Bosnian outlet bportal.ba, the Serbian crew led by Milorad Mažić have lost their passports after applying to the British embassy for visas

Replacing the unfortunate Mažić and friends are a group led by Ivan Bebek; who'll be aided by Tomislav Petrovic, Miro Grgic, Anto Vucemilovic and Goran Gabril. Europa League referees.

the high pressing game plan is working. Coz Schalke like to play the ball between the 2 CM and the 2 CB and push their full backs forward a lot. So when we win the ball, it's always 4 v 2. We can outnumber their defenders coz their full back kip bombard forward while waiting for the ball.

Luis tackling mcm a bit off. Few times he tried tackling and winning the ball in opposition half, but fail tackle. didn't get the ball or the player.

but he seem to be more offensive. always attacking position and nice crosses into the penalty box

the positive thing is, with Hazard and Luis on the left, both of them are linking up play very very well. While Azpi and Hazard, Azpi more defensive, very very seldom will produce good crosses.

that shot reminds me of Roberto CArlos. laugh.gif that power!

Btw, our trident and striker seems to switch off liao. Not much pressing, now Schalke can pass more easily.

meh..I think JT will start. The build up to Boateng's effort just now is bcoz our front line and trident switch off riao. No1 pressing down on Schalke's defender and CM, then Schalke can produce very nice passing which leads to Boateng's shot. hmm.gif

ex liverpui i dislike it. each time i saw torres play, straight away switch other channel or sleep. drogba just don't clash v hazard then he will be good. he should really play like cavani doin..torres memory is tasteless but he did help us brought nothing but shit thing. play 50cent stand there rap or beef better than put torres can't even muscle out player smaller than him.

well. 1-1. This games serve as a proof that Drog can't play more than 45 min. His role will be impact sub only imho. Shud've sub in Remy earlier, maybe in the 55th minute.

Btw, the scoreline do not reflect the game. We had tons of chances. Drog's header from Luis' cross, Drog's chance on goal, Fab dirasuk Torres shot high over the bar inside d box, Drog's rugby goal, Hazard's 2 chance that went over d bar. On another day, it could've been 6-1 to us.

Just that Drog's age is coming up against him. On many occasion, Drog don't have the pace to run clear on goal anymore and apply the finish. Post up play oso not as gud as the younger Drog dy. We gotta be a bit realistic here. Drog's appearance is more of a morale boost to the team. In terms of quality, he is not the same Drogba anymore. If we started with Costa up top, sure win dy.

Mou juz doing what a manager does, resting his key player for the big clash during the weekend. And it kinda back fired a bit. Maybe starting Remy would've been a better choice. But seeing Drog score again in Stamford Bridge, I think that brings too much sentimental value. Which is why Mou started Drog. Coz he wants Drog to score and give something to the fan. But the reality is cruel. Drog is not his old self anymore.

Well remy upfront would have been enough...

Yea. But the fans, Mou, the players, all wanted Drogba to score in the Bridge again. So I guess that's why Mou started with Drog. The roof will go off if he'd scored tonite.

I don't see this as a wake up call or what. We have 1 eye on the game against City by resting Azpi and Costa.

But a bit disappointed that the trident and striker stopped pressing up top after we score. After we score, u can see that Willian, Hazard, and Drog like more relax dy. Hence less pressing from the top to create loose ball and chances for ourself.

But then on a good note, Hazard seems to be helping out in defends a bit today. And also his work rate in closing down and winning balls up top today is very gud imo.

yeah. everybody can see it. Cant really start Drogba and expect to play him so long. he too old and rusty already. Should have at least started Remy if wanted to rest Costa. But it would be good to start him and see him score 1 at Chelsea home.

Our def problem still got holes. Getting caught from counter attack.

Jose Mourinho confirms that Costa is not fit enough to play mid-week games, as he is trying to fight off injuries.

Didnt watch last nite. Quite surprised when saw the starting eleven. Drogba start ahead of remy. I dont think drogba can lead our attacking due to his age and fitness. He should play as a backup n more to impact subs.

A point still a valuable point but our we seems leaking at the back. A bit worrying situation at the moment. Hopefully Jose can find the solution regarding our defend deparment.

I think the result is fair to both side. For Chelsea, the result is fair due to our wastefulness in front of goal. Fabregas, Drogba, Remy, etc are the culprits. As for Schalke, they are very discipline and I think their GK is in a good form.

I anticipated Drogba will start the game but I never foresee he would survive until 60+ minutes. It is logical for Drogba to be given the game time he needed to boost his match fitness, but maintaining him until the 2nd half backfired the team. I think Remy should be introduced at the start of the 2nd half in place of him.

Overall, it was disappointing not to get the full 3 points but I don't think we need to panic on anything. The intensity and intent to win the game is still there. It is just luck was not on our side for the game.

Fabregas miss the chance, lost the ball and Schalke scored but he did scored for us.

Hazard blasted the ball over the bar.

Drogba missed the goal with inches manggg.

And Remy shot was blocked off the line by Schalke defender.

At least we have 4 clear cut chances and we failed to capitalize on that. sweat.gif

this is why we only get 1 point instead of 3... wasted so many opportunity on this morning's game... was happy Drogba can start... but clearly age caught up with him... as he couldn't hold the ball that steady anymore... Remy nearly score on his first touch... and our team wasted too many chances. Luis's cross is accurate and awesome... if playing attacking style put Luis in.... if more on defensive use Dave (Azpi).... But the middle is where we leak away the chances.... Cesc not tracking back... that is why Mou have Rami in there.... but after a while Rami didn't cover well... and is it just me that think Matic had a poor game this morning? the way he lunges on the ball all the time reminds me of David Luiz.... Willian only show some flare in the first half of the first half... after that disappear from the scene... Iva always attack minded... left big gap on the right.... Cesc needs to protect the ball better.... Schalke's speedy counter is awesome with Draxler leading the way.

expected the result and with that line up. anyway, still early and looking more forward to this weekend game, think same as the rest. CL group stages can relax abit, but the EPL every points really count.

think JM really want to make the point count and wanted to win the BPL like the first time he is incharge of chelsea

Upset draw. We should have done better to win this "easy" game. Failed to capitalize on the chances. At least It wasn't a loss.
still can top this group.

Now need to focus on Man City this weekend. Toughest opponent we will face so far. If we can beat them, that will send a message across the premier league.
Lampard to start against us? hmm.gif hmm.gif

I think we can just digest this result and move on. Despite the scoreline, there was a lot of positives that we can take from this game.

Gotta focus on the M.City game this weekend biggrin.gif. Cmon Blues!

“From my position I can’t say that (it was a foul),”
“They scored 1-1 in a counter-attack situation. We made two mistakes.
“One was not to make a foul immediately when they recovered the ball and we had a chance for that.
“The other one was the fact I told my players 20 times Draxler wants to come inside for his right foot and in a situation inside the box we have to press his right foot. It was also a mistake in the box. - Jose Mourinho

by looked back those shot by opponent i can said cech able to save it with more higher % while courtA abit shaky & need time to progress. my suggestion who perform well get the starting 11 opportunity. i hope man city match i able to see cech playing instead the belgium kiddo.. mourinho really need to workout extra effort on marking scheme especially set pieces..

i based on his performance since day 1 burnley till now.. if u watch replay, opponents mid range shoot that missed, he was fail to save from that kinda position.. his reflexes is better than cech but he kinda lack of something.. maybe experience on bpl stages.. in 6 yard box with a low shoot can easily kill courtA.. cech can make the difference but still better than joe hart & de gea..

Give the kiddo some time to adapt... he did pulled off some impressive 1 on 1 save, no? I know Cech is frustrated... but this morning's game is kinda important, since Cech didn't have much game time, I think that is the reason why Mou still trusts Courtouis... if we are up against a lesser team, I think Mou will field Cech so that he can gain match fitness and confidence.... don't worry. Cech is OK with this... he is a team player... and Courtouis is the future. icon_rolleyes.gif

Is it just me or Matic seems to enjoy more and more pushing forward. B4 diz, he mcm gud pivot player, coz he choose the right time to go forward and right time to stay back and defend. But yday's match, at some point I rmb seeing Matic in the opposition half trying to win the ball. Isn't that like too advance for the pivot player? With Ram and Fab oso like going forward, Matic nids to be more disciplined. But nowadays, Matic oso like to join the attack. He was caught out of position for a few times this morning. hmm.gif

Would partnering Mikel and Matic be a better pivot combination? Mikel can totally sit deep and defend. Matic can run with the ball.

I dozed off second half, dunno how the subs did. But anyways first half, for the most part was great. Hazard's best half of the season so for. He was flying. Drogba's role in the team was mostly awkward. Ramires and Cesc was great too. Cesc did miss THAT one chance though. Luis debut went sort of well, based on the first half. I have to admit it was kind of odd not seeing Azpi and his flawless positioning at LB. You can always tell where he's going to be on the field before even he comes into the camera frame.

Drogba doesn't belong to Chelsea anymore. Veterans are supposed to go somewhere else, that's what Lampard & Cole do. I prefer Remy way more than him. Wingers couldn't do anything last night, bcs he couldn't do anything. He couldn't run, he couldn't read wingers pass. It's as if Chelsea were playing with 10 men

I still feel that Diego Costa is a must to start this season if Chelsea would like to win any silverware. Drogba started on Wednesday but I guess he's not as sharp as before due to his current age. There's rumours that Costa is injured but I would say he was rested for this weekend's clash of the giants.

well,

QUOTE
Costa has a problem and he can’t play three matches in a row at the moment. If he has one week to let the muscle recover he can start a game, like he did after picking up the problem with the national team. But, after playing on Saturday three days is not enough time for him to recover.

'It wasn’t to protect him for the game on Sunday, it was because tonight he wasn’t in condition to start the game. He came to us and was completely fine, the problem came with the national team, not with us. Now we have a problem and we have to resolve it in the best way we can.

‘Tonight he wasn’t in condition to play, on Sunday we believe he will be. Next Wednesday, for sure he won’t be, we just have to manage the situation. If he started the game tonight he wouldn’t be able to play on Sunday, we have to go step by step.'
Mou said in CFC website. sos

If Costa played against Schalke full time, then I guess he won't be able to start against City. I'm guessing the physio and medical team is keeping Costa as fit as possible for 90 minutes. His old injuries at Atletico is still haunting him imo, which is why he can't play in midweek games. hmm.gif He can only play 1 game per week I guess.

finally, our big test is coming up! City needs the point. After 4 games, they only have 7 points. If we can beat City, we will be sending a message to all the other club aiming at the PL crown.

I hope we can rack up all points available as early as possible. Then focus on CL when reach knockout phase. Players like Matic, Fab and Costa can be rested and focus on midweek games, while players like Mikel, Ram and Remy can play in PL after we mathematically win it. laugh.gif

Wah I like the positivity. But so early in the season, difficult to calculate the points to mathematically win it....won't be till March at least.

Coz for now, it seems like we're playing our best 11 in PL. Then in CL, we playing Luis, Ram, Willian, Drog. hmm.gif In the long run, if we reach knockout phase, takkan play them oso right...by that time I think we shud also play our best 11 in CL too. hmm.gif

Chelsea's FFP player costs

£157m (12-13)
£147m (13-14)
£105m (14-15)

we are getting better with the FFP. thanks to golden triangle of Gourlay Emenalo and our managers.

City game, i'm eyeing on Hazard to produce similar displays as against Schalke. That was the first time I actually 'saw' Hazard all season. He must keep it up. Big game for the big men: Terry, Cahill, Matic, Iva, (plus Azpi), nothing less 100% will do against City attack.

discipline will be vital for the game, we must be organize, expect a solid back four...and yes flying hazard was missing for a while and against Schalke we can see that he still can pull it of. biggrin.gif

He had ample of space and time during that game. Maybe he did it more often against Schalke because he saw their weakness and opted against playing as such vs tighter defences hmm.gif

But he should start incorporating early balls and crosses more and allow strikers to challenge the CBs. He's usually trying to create "pass into net" opportunities to his teammates instead. That was the sort of service more suited for King DD IMO.

kortua
iva - cahill - terry - dave
rami/mikel - matic
schurrle/willian/oscar fab hazard
costa

9 of the players must start. pivot need more defensive power. right side of the trident also can choose between the 3.

yeah, good line up. We need a solid and disciplined defense line and a strong pivot midfield against City.
Fab Costa and Hazard will deal the damage to City. Hopefully Iva don't play striker and focus on defending

i think Ram-Matic-Fab mid 3 (or see it as double pivot + AM) good enough. If want counter, willian plays, if want attack then Schrulle. Wouldn't mind Oscar to start in their place as well which would result in the same XI after the half-time vs Swansea, which was a massive improvement from the opening half.

i think the core for tonight's game against city will be our central 3 player which i believed would be oscar (behind costa) and fabregas - matic behind him. reason is simple. fabregas was never meant to become a DM and his deficiencies while playing at the said position is well documented. So, I think the safest way to protect his position is by playing oscar as both of them can switch their position and oscar having a better defensive discipline.

i don't think JM will go for the defensive this time around, but that is still possible. if he do choose this way, i think ramires will definitely slot in at the right side of the formation.

Loving our starting lineup, exactly how we should approach the match vs city. Hoping for toure to have an off game in the middle.

The draw vs schalke was a good wake up call, and i have no doubt jose will use that to ensure all players remain focused and extremely determined.

P.s: Not entirely surprised by leicester's win,but the manner in which they achieved it certainly raised err..a few eyebrows. did play some wonderful stuff against us and i honestly see them staying up this season.

City started with plenty of possession, we were at the back for a long time. Slowly came into the game. But then our final third have been disappointing. Lack of the crucial pass, even if the crucial pass is there. Kompany and Mangala easily outmuscle Costa. Maybe we nid Drogba + Costa? two physically strong front man to occupy both Mangala and Kompany. Then Hazard and Fab can go thru the middle. hmm.gif

Btw, Kompany and Managala really solid yo, no kidding. Azpi oso did quite well in his tackling.

But tbh, our pressing game is off today. Very very seldom I see Hazard, Willian and Ramires pressing the oppositions' defense and midfield. I guess that's the con of playing 433. hmm.gif

Time to press them, Matic should play further forward, City might take off 1 offensive player, so mikel at DFM should be ok

I understood why Mikel is subbed in but did not see why Shurrle is. Mourinho is confident to go for a win.

Wired Man City took-off their DFM, they are going to attack now, chasing the game, 1 more mistake from them, than we kill the game

Fernandinho off. City going for the goal. Time to park the solid bus, and let loose the jet in Schurrle and Hazard in counter. City got 1 less DM now dy when up against counter attack. flex.gif
