I am quite pissed off that Lifetime channel is not in HD. I was looking forward to watch Masterchef Asia in HD. What pissed me off more is that Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines has that channel in HD, including Fox Sports 2 and 3

They could technically save their bandwidth if they just transmit all channel in HD and limit the output from the decoder

Fox did not buy licensing for this one, and only Setanta does. Can't really blame Astro on this one because both channels are not Astro owned

Yeah. It's been weeks and I still have this problem. The first time I realised about this problem is when I wanted to subscribe to the WWE Network :/

Note that it only stuck on my PVR decoder. My non PVR HD decoder could open channel 200 without problem

Yeah but I wont buy that excuse. You see, whenever there is an international match for example England vs New Zealand or just this past few days, France vs Scotland, the match was shown on both the Setanta Rugby channel and the normal Supersport channel. It has been that way ever since Setanta was still only through IPTV.

Yes it might be unfair to Setanta subscribers that the channel they are paying for is also shown through Supersport. But this is the Rugby World Cup. Astro just wanted to make extra money. You shouldnt pay extra for it. It should be treated like the football world cup where sports subscribers should get it. For those who dont have the sports package, they can buy a pass just for the world cup.

its not an excuse to u but it is excuse for them.
think of it as business prospective, not as subscriber prospective.
yeah, sure u want all sport available, but as an astro part, they need to buy that right to broadcast it.
sure they can broadcast it at astro supersport, but how long they will last? eventually some of sentanta subscriber will be mad at them and tell why they need to pay extra since they already broadcast it in supersport. that is when conflict will happen.

sure they suck your wallet to dry, but you cant blame them for everything
they are doing their business..
u also have the option to not subscribe to them

Just how much this setanta channel price?

there are 3 option
1. if you have sport pack you can add the channel by ala carte that will be price at rm53
2. By subscribing sport focus pack which you can have 3 channel, Cricket, Sentanta and WWE will be price at rm37.10 (must have sport pack in your subscription to get that pack)
3. no sport pack, just ala carte at price at rm53.

anyone know if there is holding period for ASTRO if you want to disconnect? I just called to disconnect and they say there is one more month for disconnection. I find this policy idiotic... its all computerised ,, what is so hard to disconnect ...

Looks like u may hv to call CS but dont waste yr money just send an email.My problem was I kept keying my new IC when my record at asstro was old IC and after a few attempts I had to call CS to redo the registration,only then I knew abt my old IC number at their end

Nope... I've asked few times, if you want to change to byond HD, then you'll have to subscribe the HD service. And you'll have 1 year contract for the HD service (assuming you keep your current package).

Yup... need to serve the 1 month notice period.

Just let the decoder powered on for 24 hours and it will auto update.

I thought the old and the new one is pretty similar (other than looking prettier).

And btw, how can I jump straight to the channel instead of seeing the TV guide when I start astro? Very annoying to close it everytime.

Hi guys can someone please explain to me what is this astro plus now and what happens after the free trial period ends?

At the moment i am paying almost rm150 per month for movie package and the sport channels and many days there is absolutely nothing to watch bcs everything is being repeated so many times.

What piss me off is there so many good tv series not showing on astro bcs they are showing freaking 10 year old series like Ally Mcbeal, darma & greg etc etc.

Now i got a broucher in the post some astro plus thing, there have the Gotham series i really been wanting to see now you must pay for these tv series? WTF????

I think its 15.90 or 16.90 for all the series in Astro Plus. Quite fair to me. Furthermore by right the series like BBT. Arrow and Gotham broadcast right are thru Warner TV (HyppTV).

But why must pay some more? Why can they just add it in into one of the channels?? Last time they used to show smallville for free. They are being too greedy, already paying so much....
